  1. Check TMac's stats on Sunday including his disposal efficiency , then please acknowledge we have one of the best young KPD in the AFL. It is a long time since we have had someone of that status in our defence. Without TMac and the mighty Jetta I fear what our opponents scores would be. Let's look at the sides that have beaten us and the methods used. A Defender cannot defend loose men running down the ground when a ball carrier has clean area and is spoilt for choices. Let us be fair !!!
  2. why is it ? We get a good kid who turns into a really good player and then all we want to do is bag him ?? Makes me wonder the thought processes involved. Surely loyalty gets better resul;ts, because this time next year the boots will be into someone else. Discussion is good when it is constructive. We got Tmac for Pick 52, his brother for the same pick. I think we were all surprised at TMac's quick ascent into KPD. He will go to the next level. Let both of them grow into the roles they were drafted. We are very patient with Midfielders growing into their roles : ala Brayshaw,Petracca,ANB,Salem,Oliver , then surely we can be a bit patient with others.
  3. At least the arguments presented here are factual . They also show that when things work we are getting better. I can concede your argument rpfc re UP This is despite having TMac,Pedersen,Watts,Dunn,Lamumba,Jetta,Tyson,Hogan,Vince,Kennedy,Garlett,Brayshaw, Petracca, Wagner,Harmes,Hunt,Frost,Gawn,Viney,Bugg, etc( All average to fair VFL Players) in the side.and having Oliver ANB,MIchie,Trengrove,Grimes,Garland not in the side. A week ago there were copious arguments for presenting a submission to the AFL for a 30 man side because we had so many good players to pick from. A week seems an eternity in football (even without a Tigers or Magpies crisis
  4. Gee, this is really a bag TMAC posting. Give the bloke a break, This time last year you were probably touting him as an All Aust. AS I said on another post he leads our 1% which often does not get noticed by some people. He is only 22 and probably the best CHB for his age in the AFL
  5. Well constructed, because it shows up where we have improved. DIsposa lefficiency is an area that needs rating. Also some criteria summarising pressure between the Half forward and half back lines. No pressure there means the defence get HAMMERED (like yesterday)
  6. It seems as soon as we go wrong, we get the whips out for Watts and Tmac. Watts got into a few really good contests. He is presenting a lot more forcibly than in the past. Credit to him and the coaching staff. Tmac : short memories ,some people. He held us together in the first half against Richmond. Leads the 1% categories every week !!! The weakness yesterday was our incapacity to limit their rebounds. Maybe that is a weakness in our game plan. Sydney learnt to do it well both ways. Comes down to organisation.
  7. HAve to agree about the "apparent" by the Channel 7 "commentary "team. THey kept on telling us how well Richmond were playing, almost as if they were 5 goals up ???? I was more annoyed with Channel 7's chase of the almighty $$$$$ by cutting into the Last Post for an Ad. Just proves they have turned Anzac Day into a Marketing exercise,. rather than a day of reflection. Shame Channel 7 !!!!!!
  8. Terrific Footballer, but our resources could be more positively utilised
  9. I would like to know what has happened. However some of these posts are absolutely disgusting. He is a human being and desreves to be treated as such.
  10. We do not need a new fitness guru, just an alarm clock set for the start of the game.
  11. I remember : Robbie Flower marking in the Goal Square and setting the scene for our win against Nth Melbourne in the first final Clapping him off in the last Qtr after his 5 goals Beating Carlton in the last game, the year they won the Premiership (1971 I think) Neeta running straught out on the lead and cleaning up the Southern Stand and then bombing it. Jesse will soon be doing that.
  12. The stats indicate our Midfield got slaughtered. Then why blame it on Dunn Grimes And TMac. Bit hard to put the torch on them when it was coming lace out into their area. We always seem to struggle when sides move the ball quickly which exposes our inability to run both ways. If Tommy Mac, Jack Grimes and Lyndon Dunn are our worst, then I woul think we need to start looking at a few other areas. Our forwards would have killled for the delivery that Carlton supplied in the first half. Angus is tired, it has been a long season , but has heart. Roosy said last week he is playing in an unnatural position for him. Get another pre season under his belt and we will see a genuine Potential A Grader. Salem, ANB & Billy the kid , and JKN are all kids with potential . Be poistive ( I know it is hard after aday like today or a month like this.)
  13. At least we cannot blame Matt Jones & Rohan Bail or Tommy Mac. I thought Jack Grimes was solid today and Jack W is starting to develop an engine and increased urgency.
  14. Looking at the Stats (which are not everything) even blind Freddy can see we fot belted in the Middle . Why is is so ??
  15. Hiis past two games have been pretty good ,even when the wall is crashing down around him. He seems to have a lot more confidence because he is starting to feel comfortable out there. He was far from the worst today !!
  16. Bit harsh on McDonald Led the 1% Again Brayshaw " Learning his craft" Listening to Roos on SUnday night when comparing Hogan to Brayshaw > Hogan is playing in the position he is going to be in all his career. Brayshaw is in the side to "learn", because eventually he will be in the midfield. Surproded at how low our possession count was, yet we scored well .
  17. 1 My Uncle's teacher came from a little Wimmera School and played for Melbourne in 1926 2 Robbie Flower 3 Beating Carlton in the last game the year they won the P'ship ( approx 1970+) . 3 When we beat Nth Melbourne and Flower kicked 5 goals in Final 4 When Jimmy went over the mark. 5 Loved Gary Hardeman, Rod Grinter, Gary Lyon, Think I will like Angus (shows heart) and Tommy Mac
  18. Tommy Mac has the heart to be a legend of this Club. We should be glad we have him. Based on his steady improvement he is obviously listening to the coaches and will develop. Could be the next Harry Taylor (at Melbourne)
  19. I find a lot of the criticism of this kid smacking of looking for another scapegoat. We criticise Jack Watts as Number 1 but do not parise him for working to improve . Tommy Mac was pick 52. He has been a real bargain/revelation, and that has come from hard work . Give him some space. Personally I feel he just tries too hard and at times sets too high a standard. Wish we had more like him !! PS : There is a big difference between Edenhope/Apsley U17 and AFL.
  20. Worst loss for the season. Can understand getting wiped by Big kids, but not Essendon
  21. COuld be a (sydney) Kennedy type. Big midfield next year with Petracca, Brayshaw filling out and Vandenberg
  22. Mc Donald : Tried too hard Watts : Best jogger outthere Vandenberg : has some grunt Lamumba : bombs too much Tyson: bombs too much Gawn : taps too close Gawn: now holding marks Forwards : Shift aiming points Forwards : need helmets Forwards: get on bike Brayshaw: Suffering and tired ( but tried) Viney : work on disposal
  23. I think the biggedt stuff up was on Channel Nine last night saying that the Cats beat Melbourne in Corey Enrights 3ooth game. Did we lose the protest ???
  24. The only reason I would drop Fitzpatrick would be for team balance. Need him as a second ruck (Grimes as an alternative) Maybe Matt Jones for Tyson. Dawes for Pederson (but reluctantly) Maybe after the bye. Toumpas needs a few games to get into the tempo. His disposal is getting better. The game gets slower , the more confident you get (See Pendelbury) We must have a really good side if Grimes cannot get a game.
