  1. The rest of the world is going down paths that will absolutely be followed by us, since we are now so far back in the race. The French will only allow you into a restaurant or bar if vaccinated: Why vaccine-shy French are suddenly rushing to get jabbed | The Economist Wanted a ticket to the Wimbledon tennis finals, then you had to be vaccinated" COVID-19 Entry Requirements - The Championships, Wimbledon 2021 - Official Site by IBM Even in the USA, tickets to NBA games going to vaccinated people or getting access to vaccinated only sections: Knicks will only sell tickets to vaccinated fans if they advance to second round of NBA playoffs - CBSSports.com Vaccinated | Phoenix Suns (nba.com) This is what is happening in the rest of the world, it will happen here as well. If you want to see AFL games next year when the borders eventually open( which they will)....guess what? You will need to be vaccinated. Go and get it done!
  2. Here is one of our own who could kick straight: Big Bags (afl.com.au)
  3. Looks like we have got our first Father- Daughter selection....Georgia Campbell, daughter of Adrian Campbell. Touted as a top 20 pick, we will only have to outlay our first pick at 42! https://womens.afl/news/73318/father-daughter-product-headed-for-melbourne
  4. Love it! Hope to see you back soon Speccie!!
  5. Tegan Cunningham has had a short retirement, now nominating for the draft. Would we re-draft her? https://womens.afl/news/73301
  6. This is the ANB interview on the club website......forget the interview.....in the background is Greg Stafford working with Kossie on his goal kicking, much more interesting: https://www.melbournefc.com.au/video/983044/off-the-track-alex-neal-bullen?videoId=983044&modal=true&type=video&publishFrom=1626676252001
  7. He will kill us in finals because he can't pick up the ball or kick it cleanly, when needed.
  8. And no Ceglar, meaning McEvoy has to ruck all day! He could barely move in the last game he played. No Hardwick, Jiath and Scrimshaw means their backline "talent" comes down to .....Frost!
  9. 52,448 That takes the total beyond the best ever in 2019!!
  10. 52,251 Only 200 or so until we exceed the all time number
  11. Agree. Trying to get wheelchair seats. Call "hotline"...get told to fill in form, and wait till they get around to it. Last time they responded the day after the game, saying there were no seats. But the ones which we were trying to get were unoccupied during the game.
  12. Trouble is if the proceeds are $20M then we need a 10% return every year ad infinitum just to break even with what gaming produces today. No "savvy" investing will produce that without high risk. The only positive that may be from this outcome, is that the State Government has linked a "project financing" for the training base to the removal of gaming.
  13. Likewise have a good degree of scepticism. "Future fund " sounds great but it has to earn a bucketload of money to cover the $2M per year that gaming produces for this club. At $200 per membership we would need another 10K members permanently, just to stay where we are financially. And if the money is spent on a Training base, then there is no Future fund left.
  14. Stringer played the majority of the game in the middle. Hibberd picked him up when he drifted into the forward line, when Essendon were in attack. He didn't have to pick him up all that often, because Stringer is inherently lazy and hung back looking for the cheapie turnover, ala his goal in the first quarter.
  15. Tmac can't do it all on his own. Part time rucks aren't forwards. Bring in a forward who can kick straight from 40m. Bring in a forward who will take the opposition tallest back Bring in a forward who can take a mark Is there anyone you can think might be able to do that?
  16. Item 1 is the answer......and the best the reporters can get is outside the fence.
  17. Weideman was worse than I had thought before this game. He simply doesn't know how to play as a forward. All game he was trying to mark from behind! He is a supposedly a forward. He didn't lead a single time in this game, now because I suspect, he doesn't know how to, and it is hard to lead when you play behind the defender. It is even harder for the players up the field to kick it in, when you play behind all the time. If there is one thing BBrown can do it is lead ( and he can mark the ball as well)
  18. Great for Eliza, and showing the benefit of the Casey alignment in the AFLW stream. We now have a number of senior players at Casey, creating a pathway for the younger ones. But importantly it enables us to keep them within our system getting the same message week to week throughout the whole year now with the new scheduling for 2022.
  19. Carlton just haven't learned what is wrong. They became the experts of "buying" the players they wanted, and it was actively promoted by their boards in the past, and the culture still exists today. Since the turn of the century they haven't cottoned on to the draft and development to improve the list, and then fill holes with the role type players that are missing. They didn't learn the lesson with Judd. One player, no matter how good will win you a Premiership, you need a team. Why would you pick up ( and pay huge salary) to WIlliams and Saad? They may look flashy, but they were not what Carlton needed. But it kept their fans and Board happy.....for the short term, as they have already found out. Cripps is already a shell of the player he once was. Walsh is first rate, but who else do they have to move the ball. McKay is a standout, and Weitering is as good as it gets for a defender. But as @mauriesyhas pointed out Murphy and Betts should have been told to hang up the boots. Now they have 2 players currently playing every week, who won't be there next year, so they will have even more holes to fill than this year.
