2021 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett
After watching all those goals, I don't know if he kicks left or right foot. Gets the same distance with both and snaps equally off either foot. Just brilliant!

Weid Hits the Ground Running
6 years in the system, and he is still fringe. Unless he alters his marking techniques, he won’t go further. He is trying to replace 2 forwards who take pack marks and win one on ones. And most importantly he has to develop 2nd efforts. Can that be done? I’m not hopeful, as that is an attitude thing, not confidence.

Best Way to Watch
Kayo… $25 per month, turn it off after footy season, turn it on for next. Cheaper than a membership!!!

Gone in 40 seconds.
The knife to the heart was BBB's goal in the final quarter within the first minute or so. While we had blown them away so easily in the 3rd, the message Beveridge would have had for the team at 3/4 time would have been 'we are only 4 goals down..., we overcame that deficit in the second...., we can do it again". But the ease at which that first goal was scored, would have just deflated any enthusiasm that they might have hoped to regain. After that it was a one-way procession.

2022 Financial Report
Most of the GF prizemoney goes to the players: "There was a $4.7m increase in player payments, including $0.5m relating to the players share of AFL prizemoney as a result of winning the Premiership." Now for the stuff to keep an eye on: $2.4M in prepayments for merchandise and memberships paid for before 31 October. That alone wipes out the profit. $34M for sale of Leighoak and Bentleigh club. $11M went to paying debt. That is why we are "debt free"...we sold assets. What is yet to be explained is how a Future Fund will generate the $2M of profit in the current environment, that these venues did for us, on a capital base of only $23M. i.e. a 10% return each and every year!

Average Age & Games
Absolutely. Every year this sort of thing comes out. It is just statistics trying to find a pattern, that doesn’t exist. @Wrecker46is spot on. You don’t get to play 100 games if you are no good. An ordinary player might get there in a struggling team. And to get to 100 games you have to play for 5 years. Success is achieved by having a big group of talent getting to that point together. But without talent they don’t get therein the first place. What this does show is the dire state of affairs at Adelaide. Their average player has just over 2 years experience, and that’s with Tex, Talia and Sloane! What is scary for others is we have just won a Premiership with 8 (9 including Jordon) players under 21.

Jake Bowey Extends Until 2024
Does this mean we won't lose a game until the end of 2024? 7 games, never in a losing side, a Premiership medallion and has cemented his spot in the side....well deserved!

Saturday Morning on Demonland (9)
Thinking about the Club and not individuals: * Opening match to the Season. We get all the efforts of the AFL and Ch7 marketing and exposure to sponsors. * Sole coverage on FTA that night. * Get to raise the Premiership flag at the opening match of the season, not after it has started * If we beat the 2nd best team again, other sides will be taking a collective breath after what we did to them previously. * We will be positioned post this game for subsequent Thurs- Friday night games in Rounds 2 & 3. More FTA coverage....= more sponsor interest and income.

Grand Final Celebration at the G
NO. It took 5 emails to Ticketek to get 2 accessible seats sent to me instead of the ones I had already purchased for myself ( you have to put in an application form for these and then wait 2 or 3 days to get a response). Whats worse is I have also booked Boxing day test tickets and guess what....Ticketek have sent me the tickets to the Demons Premiership celebration again.! At least I have 4 weeks to sort out that problem. They don't answer phones, they don't have staff attending to complaints.

Training Ground?
Our Board had best have something to give us this year as promised....... Richmond another $30M Adelaide $70M Essendon $7M Western Bulldogs $36M Hawthorn started on a $120M new facility...looking for government grants ( not while Jeffrey is running the show) Collingwood $15M from Federal government to date and looking for equivalent from State for a health and wellbeing centre at the Holden centre. We still haven't got a basic facility.

Grand Final Celebration at the G
When I was doing some volunteer tasks for the club last year, it was because out of the 50K members there were 9,000 who had not provided the club with an email address or an incorrect one. Makes it hard to contact people quickly, or at all......

Dermott’s 2022 flag prediction
Putting aside Dermott's anti-Melbourne bias, picking Richmond to be there when they have lost Astbury and Houli out of their backline that leaked goals in 2021 and put Tarrant in there, is a bit hard to understand. Martin missing was critical to their fall this year, and highlighted the lack of depth and talent. Cotchin is well and truly finished. Nankervis can't jump off the ground any more and Soldo is a poor mans second option. Getting rid of Chol was nonsensical with the injury clouds hanging over these two rucks. Dogs will be back, so will we and watch out for Essendon. Toiyges...nah! Still it's all just an opinion.

Training Ground?
This isn’t 1960! Training starts in November not the Thursday before the first game in April. There are no gyms, medical facilities, plunge pools, lecture theatres at the MCG. Go have a look for yourself where the admin and football departments are and the piece-meal facilities they have to work in. Go and have a look for yourself at the infrastructure involved in the grass lighting. It is not a few globes, and covers the whole ground and has to be left there for days in winter to make the grass grow, so that games can be held on the weekends. They are on during the day and night since it is winter and there is little sunshine. That is why they are needed. Training is not just a couple of hours kicking the football around on the grass.
