PF: Melbourne vs Geelong
Simples.....We are in quarantine. We can't have contact with outsiders. So in order to run full match practice we have taken the whole squad. So Hore, Majak, Chandler, Jones, Bradtke etc are all there.

PF: Melbourne vs Geelong
That is correct. I checked out the replay last week. I think there were 4 goals kicked in 2 min 40sec of play.

Will you be satisfied with the Season of 2021 even if we lose the Preliminary Final
Absolutely. The opportunities don't get any better than this year. WE finished top of the ladder. WE are the best side in the competition. We have a full list available to play. This is it.

Toby Greene umpire contact
GWS have said they will not appeal. Titan is correct the AFL should appeal under the 4th ground. The penalty is so obviously not adequate for a repeat offender. If you go to Court after your 22 appearance and 7th imprisonment you don't get a slap on the wrist, after being found guilty.

Angus Brayshaw Media Conference
One of the guys in this isn’t bad either…..wonder what became of him?

Toby Greene umpire contact
There is no room for this kind of action and the AFL rules means Greene is off to the Tribunal, no MRO needed: From this article in the Age: https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/there-is-no-defence-for-it-grand-final-umpire-calls-for-greene-suspension-20210829-p58mua.html "The AFL tribunal guidelines state that “contact with an umpire that is aggressive, forceful, demonstrative or disrespectful” will be classified as intentional, and therefore the player will be directly referred to the tribunal". The AFL knows they have to come down hard on Toby, because they won't have any umpires showing up at all manner of competitions next year.

UMPIRES - Some Stats
The central controlling umpire at the time was Stevic. He didn't call Gus's "indescretion" same as he didn't call Selwoods. Fleer was the forward umpire who should never have even made the call against Gus, as it wasn't in his controlling area ( apart from being blatantly wrong).

UMPIRES - Some Stats
How could they possibly give us Fleer (26) again this week after that appalling "no intent" OOB against Gus?

Training Ground?
I think this conjecture is simply a journalists stuff up confusing one car park with another. The logical solution is carpark F. It is bigger, on the right side and is easy to access for redevelopment. The redevelopment will be a consequence of the 2023 Womens soccer world cup. I suspect they will need indoor warm up facilities, press rooms, team meeting rooms etc. At the end of the competition, we will take up residence.. Only my conjecture, but.... .....

Jack Gunston
Played one game this year. Two sets of surgery on his back. 30 years of age. Still contracted until end 2022. Why do people think Hawthorn is willing to let him go? If he was serviceable, they would be keeping him next year. Lewis, Hodge, Bruest were all useful in young teams which needed leadership. Now that those teams are contenders you don't need those types any more. We don't need to be doing the Hawks any favours.

FINALS: QF vs Brisbane
Good chance we will be taking a large contingent: https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/cats-dees-to-go-to-perth-as-afl-waits-on-grand-final-confirmation-20210825-p58lsb.html Probably going to be away for 3 weeks, and will need others to train with at least.

NON MFC: Rd 23 2021
Called twice last night for throwing the ball....the umpires have finally been told/caught up/opened their eyes to what has been going on for the past couple of years.
-
Soft Cap Increase
Plus the $50,000 that Harley Bennell caused us to lose this year.....we can afford to employ a few more....

GAMEDAY: Rd 22 vs Adelaide
We were completely shot at the 3/4 time break. Travis had the ball on a string, but was out on his feet. All we had to do was hang on, and Daniher left Darren Jolly on the bench for the final quarter. We just needed a big body at CHB to stop the marks the Crows were taking there.

Tasmanian AFL Team
1. Tassie cannot financially support a team on their own. They need about $40 to $50M p.a. and currently their government is throwing in only $8M to the Hawks and North. Their population is smaller than some suburbs in Melbourne and Sydney. 2. Gold Coast get about $30M from the AFL to operate. It is not an expansion market. It is not a growth area like GWS. People go there for the weather, and unless they are ex-Melbournites, locals aren't interested. I would invite people to go to a Metricon game and see for themselves. However, as an 18th team it is essential for TV. It just doesn't need to be located there. 3. North have painted themselves into a corner. Their fierce opposition to moving to the GC years ago has cemented that position. However, they have nearly cleared their debt, despite a complete lack of serious income. It WOULD be financially sensible and provide a bigger future for them in Tassie, but they won't do it. 4. St.Kilda are in serious trouble. They are at least $10M in debt ( not a problem today with current interest rates), and receive the highest distribution from the AFL. If the AFL were to reduce this lifeline, it wouldn't be long until they have to do something like a move to Tassie. 5. For the AFL they hold the cards. Cut the losses on GC and provide $20M to support a team in Tassie rather than $30M in GC. Or cut the lifeline to the Saints and let them wither, or make them an offer similar to what was made to North years ago when GC was touted. Clear the debt...ongoing support of $20M p.a.....Southern Saints.....access to Tasmanian players exclusively. Finally, there are no Kangaroos ( the hopping variety) in Tasmania.

AFL TRADE NEWS AND RUMOURS
Something has to fall out of the GWS tree this year. Signing Kelly to multi year $M contract along with Greene, Coniglio and Whitfield, means there is not much left on the table other than scraps.....something has to give.

What they're saying in their Polo Shirts at 42 Bishopsgate Street.
Probably right there Deever..... I certainly know Adelaide supporters will barrack for anyone else other than Port. And as a "created" club, like the Eagles, they have no affilitation with any previous clubs in the local competition. Likewise if you live in Perth I imagine you couldn't barrack for any team associated with Fremantle i.e. North or South Fremantle or Subiaco. Which just leave the Eagles.....

Trade Targets
Gunston has a bulging disc in his back. Hasn't played since May when he injured it in his only game this year. Now going in for more surgery: https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/more-back-surgery-for-gunston-amid-uncertainty-20210810-p58hld.html Definitely not what we ( or any other club for that matter) would want.
-
Sam Weideman re-signs until 2023
In his 6th season. Hasn't kicked more than 20 goals as a key forward....and people want to give him another 2 years!

Welcome back to Demonland: Tayla Harris
I was amazed when the article stated she is only 24! She was starring in the exhibition games all those years ago, and one would think she still has many years left. Her skills don't disappear, and her abilities overhead and long kicking capabilities are extremely rare in the AFLW world. Will be a genuine target up front which we have lacked, and in tandem with Daisy will allow the likes of Bannan to develop without the pressure of taking experienced defenders.
-
We're back!
Since we are all locked away, and can't go out to spend money, might as well send it to Demonland to keep it going. $200 on the way.

Position names
What about the coaches? Used to be just the the one in Norm's day.......

2021 Membership Ladder
12 years of AFL money being thrown at Gold Coast and all they can show is 19K members. Just locate to Tasmania, and they would have more members from day 1.

CASEY: Rd 16 vs Western Bulldogs
Can see why Bradke will be gone at season end.
