NON-MFC: Round 05
Remember last season?

Training Ground?
Still have to practice taking out the pencil and paper from the pocket, holding it at arms length in front of the body and adding a stroke for a score. Then putting the paper and pencil back in the pocket and looking like you have achieved a monumental task.

PREGAME: Rd 05 vs Essendon
But if Max gets injured, we will have only one tall, or in JVRâs case, medium tall forward. We need a key forward with BBBâs height.

Recruiting - where did it all go wrong
I think we will have to go and buy a few farms in Caulfield.

Recruiting - where did it all go wrong
Well that would have to be the responsibility of the Board. In that regard they have failed for quite a period. PS: I am hopeful of a positive Caulfield Training Base announcement soon.

Recruiting - where did it all go wrong
Well thatâs the question, why are players saying no to us?

Recruiting - where did it all go wrong
Looked at the two sides tonight. Can anyone point out since our flag in 2021 a Rankine, Dawson, Keays, Cumming, Keane, Peatling, Cameron, Smith, Stengle, Danger or Henry etc we have recruited from other teams. I will add Nibbler as he has set up 5 goals in the first half. That seems to be a big issue for us, as Sharp is the only one I can see in our side from another club post 2021 and once again he is not the quality of the players named above and they are only two of our opposition clubs.

PREGAME: Rd 05 vs Essendon
Donât think Jeans ever repeated it. He had plenty of his own original sayings. I think he was famous for saying âthere are three stages of football, we have it, they have it, or it is in disputeâ.

That was John Kennedy Snr.

Tom Fullarton
That's true, but you have to at least try and have some selection integrity. We have players in our forward line who are in terrible form. He kicked 5-2, missed two sitters and dropped a mark 20 out straight in front so should have kicked 8. We went after Wade Dersen last year, who will be 24 in two months, is 7 cms shorter then Fullarton and hasn't played a single AFL game yet.

The 3 musâcatâeers JUH, Smith and Stengle.

Could he bring his Coach with him?

Go and Get JUH
The media has gone mental on Tracc showing emotion after the Cats game, imagine what they would do to us if we got JUH after the Smith, Tracc and Oliver sagas.

2025 MFC Injury List
That is not really fair, to call the Coach a liar over Lever's injury.. Goody could have been told he was hopefully right to go. Lever could have still had discomfort and it was decided he couldn't push through it, or it would be a problem continually, or he needed surgery to fully get rid of the issue, or a number of other scenarios.

2025 MFC Injury List
As I said to mates before the season, if we have good luck with injuries, we should have a good year. Yep.
-
Media Madness
So what happened to Toby Greene tunneling Owies, flipping him over and landing on his head? As dangerous an act as you could see and enormous potential to cause injury. Not a word anywhere and no penalty.
-
New coach prospects
If we were 0-12 I think plenty would be gone. I like every Dees fan, is hoping we start a winning sequence this saturday.

New coach prospects
Goody wonât be sacked during the season, it ainât happening. He might not see out his last year, which will be a âmutualâ decision of course.

Recruiting - where did it all go wrong
Agree. It wasnât a matter of quantity over quality as another poster said, it was foregoing using picks on recycled nqr players from other clubs and instead taking more players in drafts who had the chance to develop and become good players. The cattle as you could call them. Targeting specific needs players here and there is fine, but not at the detriment of losing fast skilful youth. Obviously you canât fill a team with top 20 picks, but that is where cunning list management comes in. What picks were Max, Tom Mac, Rivers, McVee, etc. Obviously later picks have a statistically lower success rate and that is where you have to be smart in what you do. I banged on here on DL relentlessly to get Treacy and/or Meek ( who werenât regular Freo players at that stage ) added to the LJ deal. Maybe it wasnât possible but i would love to know if we tried. Many of us wanted to keep JJ and Bedford instead of others. JT and TL have been good generally, but they have room for improvement as well. Just as a side note, Langford was on the handball on the Sunday Footy Show and on his wrong hand missed the entire target twice and scored 14 in 6 handballs. He looked totally embarrassed. He will be a good player, but absolutely no skill on the wrong side. Sound like anyone else on our list with a father at another club?

Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
IF they went, Kozzie and Tracc are still high value, as to a flag contender they could make the difference. Clarry with his high contract, poor disposal and baggage, is probably now in low demand. Our FD or a new Coach might have some hard decisions to make.

NON-MFC: Round 04
This one is far worse, as Greene looked at Owies before tunnelling him and then Owies is completely upended, landing on his head. This was extremely dangerous. Greene could have pulled out. Now the old boys are saying âwhat could Toby have doneâ? Pulled out for a start. This is the difference in the media. Fritta canned and people looking for a suspension and with Toby, trying to get him off.

2025 MRO & Tribunal
He was suspended on the injury result and if it wasnât concussion, might have got off.

You answered your own post, concussion.
