The Midfield - where do the Demons stand?
Who not one club or fan would not grab for their AFL team in a micro second.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
I would be thrilled if he won the next 5 Brownlows, if we win the next 5 flags.

Jason Taylor’s contract
JT will eventually leave, but probably not to Tassie Devils, as they have Todd Patterson, Derek Hine, Scott Clayton and now Mick Cashion from the Hawks.

The Midfield - where do the Demons stand?
On paper we are a fair way off, but of course we don’t play on paper and of course it is just someone’s opinion or guess. I think we now have more unexpected options for midfield rotation.

Obviously not related to Judd the Docker

Tom has been unlucky not to get more games in his AFL career, as he really is a decent ruckman. In one of the finals for Casey this year he was simply unbelievable, just carrying the team to a win.

I just got a migraine.

Jason Taylor’s contract
They are sometimes the hardest prediction. Everyone had Josh Schache in the first few of his draft for example and he went pick 2. There are plenty of examples of key forwards taken early in the draft who didn't go on.

I am with you, I see us improving.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Friday 5th December 2025
Gee, a lot of thought must have gone into some of those nicknames, for example Vines, Steely and Sharpie.

Farewell Judd McVee
I have only ever booed one former Demon and I don't even say his name. I won't be booing any of our recent departures. One suggestion to players wanting to leave, maybe say nothing, it's better than misleading loyal fans, who actually care about you.

Farewell Judd McVee
If that's true I withdraw my defence of him.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
That's how they operate. Funny, as one article said he would be great for the Giants' culture. I spent 5 minutes cleaning up the food I inadvertently spat out when I read that. There was another article on midfielders in the AFL, which he did not gain an appearance in and another naming A and B category players of each club and again he did not even make it being named as a category B player. Click bait works in strange ways.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Wednesday 3rd December 2025
Have done exactly the same several times. I also go up and down a small hill at the local park for my exercise walk and use player names to count the number of times I do it, silly habit I know.

Well at least he went to do his business in the toilet.

Agree with that and not rocket science either.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Wednesday 3rd December 2025
Well I understand your view, but it’s plainly wrong to blame an innocent party. Champion Data do that job and the football clubs can’t override that as they have no ability to do so.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Wednesday 3rd December 2025
When you are getting to the end of your AFL career, it is vital to be as fit as possible, to help avoid some injuries and give you every chance in contests etc. Old and unfit gives you no chance.

"Player profiles are updated by Champion Data and the AFL and cannot be edited by the Melbourne Football Club. 2026 Player Profiles will be available following the 2025 AFL Draft." This is written on the top of the Player Page. Its not our job or fault.

Training Ground?
And done at a time when there are no race meetings at Caulfield, which on current race dates listed each year, would allow plenty of options of when to do it.

You have the right like everyone else to express your opinion on DL, on any subject on the DL Boards. So don't be put off by disagreement. Even we disagree sometimes. I think the way we can look at Clarry now, is to accept that he was a big part of a desperately needed flag and will always be a Demon, especially after he finishes playing AFL. A good way to assess players I think, is after looking back at their careers, to say who would you take on draft night, if they were all 18 again. For example Leigh Matthews is 18 and so is Clarry, who do you take in the draft. Robbie Flower and Clarry are 18, who do you take. I think if we are realistic, we could name 50 players easily, without much thought, who we would take before Clarry. I am not denigrating Clarry, but rather applying a fairer test of where he probably stands in the AFL pantheon, at this point of his career.

We will get an update at the AGM.
