Isn’t it funny when they want another club’s player, the language is so different from when they want to keep their own player?

I think the real issue is when you trade up and give away a lot to get a certain player, you need to actually get that player and then he has to be worthy of what you gave up. As recent examples, Lindsay looks the goods, while Kolt is looking a little shaky. To be a successful club we need to nail most decisions and recruiting is an extremely important area for every club. I do accept that not every selected player will have a long AFL career but the overall aim has to be improving the list every year.

Not every employee is good at their job. I think this year alone I have heard him get about 10 things wrong. Then the pearler, he said Mason Cox was in the best 3 ruckmen in the AFL. That is about the most stupid comment of any media person I have heard this year.

Ryan will be about $700K-$800k, that is significant. Wilkie on $800k has been offered more elsewhere and has asked Saints to match. King on $1.2m. Sinclair has to be $800k. I am told Steele on about $1m. Owens $800k. Wood $600k-700k. There are plenty of others on decent money. They will have to offload players or the rest will be on $50k.

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
From around the traps and looking logically, when Graham Wright had that discussion with Bucks at Collingwood which led to his “ resigning “ , it was likely because as with most ex coaches, he had lost the players, Bucks even said the message had become stale and a new voice was needed. Sound familiar? Until I see firm evidence to the contrary though, I believe Bucks had the job, the AFL came hard with a massive offer and Bucks accepted it and then gave answers that basically eliminated him. Saying you are seeing another club and won’t commit until after that meeting would eliminate any candidate. Anyone want to predict Bucks won’t be Coach of Tassie now? The yachts are sailing up the Derwent as someone posted. Bucks will be announced as Tassie Coach without a process in the next few months. Maybe we got the better Coach, hopefully that is the case. I just hope the AFL is compensating us for what I perceive as their interference in our process. Candidates withdrew because they believed Bucks had the job. Sure it is the Tassie consortium, but we know who is behind them,

You can't win finals without a midfield.

Is there a more dispisable player in the game than Ginnivan? Can’t stand him.

I would actually reduce his options to two. Stay or go.

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
Buckley’s Manager and Bank Manager know the truth. He will be the highest paid Coach in the AFL imo.

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
The first AFL instalment of his huge Tassie contract was probably due by then.

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
Let's be honest everyone, if we are successful again under King we will love him.

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
Probably pretty soon and we can get that out of the way before PF week and start with the recruiting. I wonder if he is good mates with Bartel. That could be a good combo. Little side bet with anyone, we don't play at Geelong next year and maybe don't need all of $30m to build Caulfield now.

See my post before yours, I reckon I nailed it. I can smell the AFL all over this.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
My suspicion is that Buckley walked after being given a Godfather offer by the AFL. Imagine if they offered him a 10 year contract at $2m a year and maybe even increasing annually, with no real expectation of a flag, that would be hard to refuse. Something has happened here, as Bucks was past the post according to various sources and even the media. Anyway no guarantee he would be successful, so welcome Steven King and keep writing those horror novels.
