The No T$ No B$ Thread
He was one free kick or missed kick by Sheed from being a Premiership Coach. Ross Lyon has had three stints and is so far unsuccessful. Is he a good Coach? Bevo has won one flag, when everything went his way, especially including the umpiring in one year and has failed with good player lists every other year, is he a successful Coach. Fagan has one flag with a team full of stars and multiple benefits provided to his club, is he a successful Coach? Longmire and Simmo each only had one flag and many failures, are they successful Coaches? Not sure there are that many successful Coaches available, other than maybe Sheedy, Pagan and Malthouse.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Not sure why we didn’t complete our Coaching search process by now, to have allowed the new Coach to address the club at the B & F. I suppose if the Coach is currently involved with another club in finals, that could have been difficult, but given they have said they will announce the Coach before the GF and possibly before the PF’s and especially if it is the rumoured favourite, that doesn’t seem to be an issue. It would have been a great opportunity to have the Coach address the players, staff, sponsors and fans at our premier club function, before the players take their break. Imagine the new Coach rallying the troops, the new CEO announcing Caulfield as the new training base and the President mentioning that Judd McVee has just signed and that fellow Board member Steven Smith will be President at the end of the AFLW season.. Fair bit of good news that could have been the catalyst to start the next pre season.

Welcome to Demonland: Max Heath
Probably for one last year.

Marcus Windhager
Maybe its better not to all worry what he will cost at this stage, but rather get over the first hurdle of him actually wanting to play for us.

They were killed in the midfield, with Dawson not great and basically no one else doing anything. They will be desperate to boost their midfield.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
You have obviously forgotten that we lost to the now brilliant again Pies, twice this year, by a goal or less. On each occasion we had more possession, contested possession, inside 50’s, shots at goal and of course less frees. So based on that and the fact we lost 9 games by less than 2 goals this year, are we really hopeless, or maybe a couple of players needed, a recommitment to selfless play, under a slightly changed game plan, a strong pre season, natural development of some younger players, a good injury run and we are a strong chance to play finals.

Luke Jackson back to Victoria?
Probably this week now.

The List Manager Tim Lamb
Laurie has been excellent all year in the VFL and I would be shocked if someone doesn’t come for him like the Eagles, Bombers or Blues for example. I think I have conceded on Verrall, who doesn’t appear likely to make it and Heath will probably take his spot. If we are a chance for Windhager as Finey is saying, then I could see Sparrow going home. I think May will go and I have suggested even the Pies might grab him for a year or two and despite what the Dogs are saying maybe even them. I still think Lever is a chance to leave and become the general of North’s Defence. If we can find another key forward or Jeffo and Luker step up, Petty can go back. I think keeping Tom Mac another year suggests we will lose 1-2 older key backs and he is that experience we may need for a year. I see Hore, Fullarton, Woey, Brown, Billings, Henderson, Verrall, Spargo, Laurie, May and maybe Lever, Sparrow and McAdam gone depending on whether the new Coach wants to give McAdam one more try in his last year. Tracc, if a big club he like comes hard and offers a good deal, could also go. That is a lot of movement and it can only all happen, if we have a few more players wanting to come to us.

There might be one at Woollies.

Can’t believe I am reading that now, as I saw Finey yesterday and would have asked him. Have known him for years. Will try and see him today or monday and find out what he knows. Hope he is correct though. Wonder what we could trade for him and steak knives Heath. Is this the massive salary cap spend coming home to roost?

Luke Jackson back to Victoria?
Thanks for the compliment. However, I am confused as to why you suggest I need to ask a question. I don’t even know what question you want me to ask. I was simply replying to the post about the Cats getting players cheaply and giving an example of that. I am not for one minute suggesting we could get Jackson as cheaply as that.

Luke Jackson back to Victoria?
Cats paid pick 17 and 38 and got back 45 and Bailey Smith. Pick 17 ended up pick 20. I would call that “a packet of chips” for Smith. Could you name one other club that wouldn’t pay that for Smith at the time?

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Correct, they are now media stars who give their opinions, rather than report.

NON-MFC: Finals Week 01
Agree with that but they also get a few things right. Picking the right Coach. Mannagh. Humphries. Stengle. Stewart. O’Connor. SDK. Martin. Miers. The Irish boys. Upgrading a pick to get Holmes before us. Cherry picking star players and having the farms to pay them and get them.

NON-MFC: Finals Week 01
Makes you sick, year after year and media is just in raptures over them. Soft draws, real home games, non existent salary cap and every star player wanting to join them.

2025 MRO & Tribunal
That is probably your best post ever. The AFL are doing their absolute best to make me hate football. Look at the p-ss weak investigation of the Cats salary cap, by a former Cats official. Some big clubs just do and get what they want, while others are just continually pushed down. The comment by Dunstall just now sums up the AFL. He said “two monster PF’s coming up at the G with two big clubs”.

8 AA’s and best player nearly every week, plus being the face of our mess in the media, as well as mentoring mentally ill team mates not enough for you?

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
Might concede 1, but disagree on 2 and 3. You can’t do the same old thing and expect it to change. Are you suggesting we are a one man team in point 3?
-
Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
Well I disagree with that. He was, but he isn’t anymore. He is not the player he was before the injury. I don’t blame him for that, but it is a fact. He is burning players in better positions, same as Curnow, trying for the long bomb goals. He complains when the ball isn’t passed to him. He has lost a bit of pace and is still a poor kick. Worst of all, I have seen him several times this year pull out of contests, where contact might be expected. Think of the De Goey mark in the last round, that ended up in a goal down the other end. Of course you can’t blame him for that, but on his money and in his position in the team, it is unacceptable. I see him as the one being spoken about every trade period and that will be a distraction l, so if we got a very good deal, I would bite the bullet and trade him.

Can we just get a few clubs to demand a proper investigation, done by a non Geelong person. I am sick of this club getting all the benefits and not being properly investigated over its salary cap.
