Congratulations Danielle and Gus, have a great life together.

    Take that to the bank.
  3. And then you can prove to be not up to it, even if you get the chance. The best way to know if you are AFL standard, if you are talented, is to be tried at the top level.

How can you have an admitted Pie supporter, chairing a Tribunal, in an incident that could affect his team’s finals chances? I am still furious about this.

Agree. Kozzie would have got a lifetime ban if it was him doing that action.

No BBP the 3 weeks was a Tribunal minimum if found guilty. He was referred directly to the Tribunal which was without penalty and it was then up to the Tribunal. That staring at 3 weeks was exactly that, it was a comment by the writer, that he had not been given 3 weeks or any weeks actually, but would get that as a minimum if Tribunal found him guilty. It was not an appeal, but a direct sending to the Tribunal, as it was graded serious. Hope that clarifies it.

No he wasn’t, he was sent directly to the Tribunal by Laura Kane, against the decision of former Pies player and MRO Michael Christian. The pathetic case put forward by the AFL, in front of admitted Pie supporter Tribunal Chairman Gleeson, got the desired result. As I said at the time, the AFL would outlaw that action after the season ended, which they did. PS: Most ex players and media said he deserved a suspension. Nathan Buckley and Eddie were two who disagreed, of course.
  8. You can only do that if you are playing in the AFL, as in any other competition it is only potential. The best player in the VFL could be a dud in the AFL.

Also the AFL will be in our corner on this and they happen to need a home for the umpires and that will lead to a good AFL contribution, if that part comes to be.
  10. They are interesting stats, given we have employed Choco for several years and this is not a revelation.
  11. I may be on my own here but really would like to see Roy George on our list, but the club may want Jai Culley and atm there are no spots for either of them. It may take a mid season retirement to open a spot. I am hoping no other club will/can select Roy earlier, if he doesn’t first agree to go there. Interesting to see how this pans out.
  12. Is that an AFL stat?

I still can’t see how Kozzie got weeks, for a contest, that at worst, would have been a bump to a 200cm player’s stomach, until the very last split second, when the taller player went to ground, at a time when the smaller player couldn’t pull out of the contest. I think it was a pathetic decision and when contrasted with the Maynard bump on Gus, knocking him out early in a final and the resultant lack of any penalty is just bewildering, other than the fact that the Tribunal Chairman and MRO are admitted Pies supporters. Neither of them should have officiated in either case.

The thing that annoyed me was Kohli’s reaction, after walking a pitch and a half width across, to get to Konstas. Konstas was clearly annoying Kohli, as we saw earlier a few times with his cavalier batting and Kohli’s reactions. However, after Kohli bumped him and kept walking, without instantly reacting, which you would do if contact was unexpected, Kohli tried to start something and then later was trying to blame Konstas for the bump, by showing a charge with his shoulder. This annoyed me the most. Great batsman that he is/was, he has always been arrogant and his picking on Nat Ioannides, a young, small, female sports journo at Tullamarine was pathetic. He excused the three men in her group ( cameramen probably) and loudly said it was all her fault that there were cameras at the airport, when his team arrived. Tony Jones called him a bully and that is probably on the money. I have never liked him, much preferring guys like Bumrah and Tendulkar who are modest champions. I see he got a slap on the wrist for the incident.

Well he hasn't yet. Not sure he will either.

    Konstas brilliant. Kohli pathetic.

RIP Troy, still just so horrible 20 years on. Gone but not forgotten.

Perhaps I can explain what I mean by second team. Dees are my only team, but I dislike the Suns winning less than any other team and wouldn’t mind if they make finals and would be totally thrilled for them to lose next year’s GF to us.

I would think access would come via Neerim road, where you access the current football oval and stand.

The Suns are my second team already and an eighth finish, knocking off the Blues in an elimination final would be a great result all round.

Dp I agree with you on the hope for info soon and as I have said for about 2 years now, this will happen, barring an unforeseen event, that has the power to stop it. I am biased living close by, but have no doubts this will be a great project and precinct for the club to be based. As i said in an earlier post, the inside of the track is a massive area, that is now unused and the CRRT understand that this is a disgrace, in a suburb crying out for green space use by the community. Even with our ovals, I would estimate 2/3 of the inside track remaining for other uses probably still to be decided. The land is far too valuable to be a weed patch.

The CRRT have nothing to do with the school project, as that is freehold land that is being purchased. Can posters please understand that the MRC is and the MFC will be, on Crown Land. Crown land and Freehold land are two different categories of land ownership.

I see it in 2 factors: 1. Opportunity. 2. Ease of getting to the club. For opportunity, there is no obvious ruckman behind the 33 year old Max and several of our key Defenders are near the end. The Suns have 3 ruckmen behind the younger Witts, with Moyle and 2 others ahead of him at this stage and also younger key Defenders. For ease of getting to the club, the Suns have a number of Academy players they want next year and 2 at least at this stage are ahead of Kalani. A finals placing will restrict them to 2 Academy players, whereas with us, he will walk simply in on a matched bid.
