  1. May, Lever, Langdon, Melksham, Culley, Sharp, Billings. Soon hopefully Heath, Derksen, Flanders. Maybe Mihocek.
  2. My take might be a bit different to others. First I feel sorry for Ghosty, who is as loyal and fanatical a Dees' fan as there is. She said what she what she was told by Judd and hopefully this is the last time her name is mentioned on this thread. She posted to make us all feel better and I thank her for that and look forward to many more posts from her on other topics in the future. Now, I think Judd did sign his contract some time ago, but the Manager didn't co sign it, or hand it to the MFC, but kept it to see what was around. If I am correct, he is doing many deals with WA clubs and lives there. I think he shopped Judd around to Freo and got a very good deal and has now told Judd of the deal and Judd has decided to accept it and go home. That is not a hanging offence for a player wanting to change clubs and go home at the same time. We know the risks with interstate players. I would't be surprised if the Freo womens' team has made Lily an Offer to join them as well. This is very disappointing and especially as it is Freo who took LJ off us. Personally I agree with some posters who have said it is pick 11 only, or imo a lesser pick, plus a player we like, or walk him to the PSD to the Eagles for nothing. Is he worth pick 11, no, but it is our right to name our price. Hey Freo you want it done smoothly, then this is what it will take. This is a statement moment for a new President, CEO and Coach to stand up and be counted. This request is annoying a lot of us, but it is what is and we have to act like a big club and not get steamrolled. He is not our best player and we will go on, but we need to ensure we get what we want, or he doesn't get to Freo, end of story.
  3. So Suns who made their first finals and have more NGA's coming in, could get, Tracc, Elliot and JUH to add to Ben King and Walter and they are also supposedly chasing Curnow.
  4. You could be right, they haven't had it yet, I just had last year's result.
  5. Top 3 in the 2024 Gold Coast SUNS Club Champion Award: Sam Collins: (68 votes) Bodhi Uwland: (56 votes) Sam Flanders: (55 votes)
  6. You have a very good memory and I did knock him for his playing ability long before he needed to leave, but I didn't ridicule him as a person, that is completely untrue. It is different saying you don't think a player is great, to ridiculing him personally, which is what I was getting at. Further If I recall correctly, I wished him well on leaving and understood why he left. Lastly I have had some interaction with him and found him to be a fantastic guy and I wish him and his family only the best. Hope that clears up any confusion.
  7. Don't lose hope just yet Daz, if Tracc goes to GC, we are still there, if we want to be.
  8. Suppose it depends what we have offered Flanders. If we offered $750K and its another $150k from Saints, we offer a bit more and the Suns say we will clear you to Dees in a deal, or you stay. Pretty sure if Tracc goes to his rumoured favoured club GC, then we would get Flanders and 6, or without Flanders 6 and 7 and maybe another player or other deals done. You could even get Heath and Derksen done through that deal, without paying for them, they would be cheap anyway. You could even use the picks you would need for Heath and Derksen to slightly upgrade 6 and 7. I suppose it could depend on JT believing we can get two very good kids at 6 and 7, as better than 6 and Flanders. Imagine a deal where Tracc goes to GC and we get , 6, 7, Heath, Derksen and maybe Rosas and then slightly upgrade 6 or 7 or both. That is all very possible. This will be an interesting trade period.
  9. I think they will trade Jack Steele as he is also on big money. They will have to let players go, as the figures touted for new players when added to some of their existing payments, mean they will need 20 players on the draft minimum to fit in the cap. We know that is not happening. I expect a fire sale during trade week or late delistings.
  10. Suns can do the Flanders deal with Saints for pick 7 and then offer us 6 and 7 and maybe throw in Rosas if we want him, to help Tracc get to where he wants to go. Surely JT can get 2 good players with those picks. I'd be thrilled with another Langford and Lindsay.
  11. It's all in and if it fails due to injuries or poor form they will be cactus. They also have Wilkie being offered $400k more a year by the Dogs, so to keep him happy, even though contracted, they will have to give him at least another $200k a year, taking him to $1m a year, another one on huge money. He has already indicated he is unhappy with the money being thrown around and Aleer being offered what he is currently on. I see this exploding.
  12. A meaningless name to me. However, he sounds like the sort of type, someone could start a thread about on Demonland.
  13. Forcing players to stay generally doesn't happen often and again can be very detrimental all around. If Merrett is out of play and the Hawks turn their attention to Tracc, would Lewis and the Hawks' Carlton pick of 8 I think it is, be of interest to us, doing away with the need for Mihocek and giving us that tall key forward we all want? Given Lewis would probably not be a first round pick with his injuries and non certainty of Hawks selection, then maybe a later pick is thrown in, which we could use to upgrade 8 or take another player. Lewis is bigger and younger than Mihocek.
  14. No, Merrett will be according to the new Chairman and he was definite about it.
  15. If Petracca wants to go to GC, then getting Flanders would be relatively easy, if he agreed to play for us. So if he knows that and we have a Coach he likes, we play at the G and he still selects the Saints, is it just the offered contract, or is there more to it? If it is just money, have we set a ceiling on him, that even if we have cap room, we just don’t want to exceed? I still think the Saints may live to regret this overpaying of a few players, to try and buy a flag now. I also believe they will have to let players go, as the new contracts and existing ones, just couldn’t possibly fit in the salary cap, unless they had about 20 players on the bare minimum as new draftees and that is clearly not the case.
  16. But maybe say $600k each for 2 seasons.
  17. That's good, as if he is traded, no one will know until December 2026, when they flip the calendar page to December. Also I just realized where Judd's signed contract is, it's with the Calendar printer.
  18. This a worse one. Many years ago, when possessions were more earned, Greg Williams lost a Brownlow by a vote, after getting no votes for a 43 possessions game, which universally was recognized as a BOG performance by all the media.
  19. I think this issue has been approached the wrong way. He is not being pushed out. He has clearly let it be known in house, that he wouldn’t mind change and has actually widened the possible clubs beyond Collingwood. If he said he won’t go and loves the place, we wouldn’t be having this conversation and everyone speculating where he might end up. I am pretty sure King would be very happy to keep him, if he was fully committed. I think this time we are happy to assist him with his wish, to stop the constant speculation and perhaps thank him for his service.
  20. He was until 15. At 16 he moved to key forward and won 2 B and F awards as a key forward, the position we drafted him as.
  21. Oh no, it has a TAB there. How long will it take for us to be bashed about exposing our players to betting? Don't forget my joint membership idea of MFC/MRC, I see it happening. The MRC would probably let us have all the revenue from that idea too, as they are mainly concerned with building attendances and promoting racing at Caulfield. Other benefits would then flow to both clubs and to the members via loyalty programs, etc. The MRC are not adverse to giving free memberships out and I got one last year when my horse won there. I used to be a member of all the three race clubs but gave them up, as I only go when I have a runner now and then as an owner you get in free everywhere. PS: I can see an annual get together at the glasshouse after training. Slarti can give Old his pizza then.
  22. Spoke to the author of the tweet today and he said at the time he said Windhager was gone, we had the best offer on the table and in his opinion at that time he was gone. Of course the Saints then came to the party and upped their offer, making him happy to stay.
  23. No but getting Mihocek as a free agent will affect the Spargo compensation.
  24. I’m with you Pit.
