  1. I didn’t say we should do nothing. I was simply talking about whether it’s all the Coach’s fault and should we burn possibly close to a million dollars, or examine what else can be improved. I think we need to examine all the parts unemotionally, which I am not convinced you are suggesting, then do what is needed to get success.
  2. I have now got a very simple philosophy on all of this, we do whatever we have to for more flags.
  3. Josh Carr just sacked Chad Cornes who is highly regarded. They all do it.
  4. All of that is fine if the Coach is the problem and then everything is fixed. I haven't been convinced that view is correct yet. If we had kicked straight, we would have won several more games and might be in the eight right now. Is that his fault? We have changed to a new game plan and that seems to be coming along. That takes time. It could be up to a million dollars, I would guess, to move him on, can we afford that? Would a new Coach immediately make us better? Would we be changing game plans again and that takes time? Do the players want a new Coach? You and I don't know the answers to the above, so we will see what some who might, do about it. It is easy to go off half cocked and regret it later. I think Development, Recruiting and Assistant Coaching needs improvement and they have more impact than just the head Coach.
  5. Wow! He is a tagger. Serong got 11 disposals on him instead of his usual 30 plus and Freo lost by a goal. Hasn't missed a game for the Swans since he went their and was in their GF side. I only mentioned him and Bedford to show that we trade players to give them more opportunities, in a post about Derksen and the giants doing the opposite.
  6. Dimma and Lyon are pretty good at it too.
  7. JJ says hello.
  8. Or maybe he will survive because we honour contracts and might not want to waste say $800k or more of members money by sacking him.. Or because we believe it’s a better culture maker and more chance of managers trusting us if we honour contracts: Or because the players want him to stay. Or because while not having a great year, we have changed our game plan and are not getting thrashed, even by the top sides since the change. Or because we have understood that he is not the one missing easy shots for goal, that has cost us many games. Or because we have decided that with some better help he could still get us to finals. Or because we have decided that our recruiting hasn’t been as good as it could have been. Or many other reasons that don’t lead to the conclusion that we are a “ useless bloody joke of a club “.
  9. They also have Ramsden over 201cms and Scaife to come and huge ruckman Ned Reeves not getting a game, who could go forward for them.
  10. I have said what I have said about giving Kentfield time and that Jeffo will probably get another year. JVR played his best game this year on sunday and hopefully will return to his best. The new CEO is already working on club matters and Brad Green is the President and not the acting one. He is doing his job. We have a succession plan for President, that is all it is. Steven Smith has not retired from life, only as a Lawyer. He is 69 and pretty fit from the last time I saw him about 9 months ago. Is Goody the Coach given he will be replaced eventually? Is Dillon the CEO of the AFL, given he will also be replaced eventually? Everyone gets replaced eventually, does that mean they can't do their job until they are replaced?
  11. Though not as fanatical as you about Jeffo I am also a fan, but I am starting to worry. Sometimes you don’t want to see what you are seeing. However, I agree he should be played for a solid block of games and also given another year before finally assessing him. Sometimes these kids just need a bit of luck and a breakout game, to really believe they belong and give them some confidence. It must be hard every time you play, thinking that you are not good enough and going to be delisted. We will have plenty to move on this year and I agree he should be given another season to prove himself. It’s not like we have 10 replacements anyway.
  12. Luker is tracking very well and people need to understand that given his serious illness, we should be allowing him to develop without the pressure of being thrown in the deep end. After a FULL pre season, which would be his first, we can then start to assess him and hopefully give him his chance. I can just see it, we play him in the seniors now, he doesn’t play well and the bagging starts. That is not the way to develop players.
  13. You might want to revisit this. If he has what we need, why would we pick him because of his name?
  14. I wonder if that is because we put a line through his name at Casey or something else. I really thought he had some tricks.
  15. Not exactly, as Dom at least played for us and chose to go home. Roan was a Casey player for a few years who we didn’t even rookie and is now an AFL player with the top club,
  16. WILL that be TOMorrow?
  17. When you are likely to be delisted for the second time at close to 30 and you do an ACL, that would seem a strong possibility. He has been very unlucky with injuries.
  18. The Pies are easily the best side in the AFL. We lost to them by a point. We can't be that far away from being a decent side again.
  19. We have probably robbed him of his chance of playing 250 games. He was dropped when in good form and if he had kept playing, he would be on nearly 250 now and then could have retired to give a younger player a chance for the last 7-8 games. I think he is entitled to feel p-ssed off.
  20. Annd I am not happy. I will try and take it gracefully.
  21. I hope we leave the kid alone and let him develop, without the weight of expectations put on him by DL. He is not a saviour, but rather just another promising kid, nothing more. There are no guarantees on becoming an AFL player just because you make an AFL list. Jed Adams and Seston are examples of that, though they still can make it if they keep improving.
  22. If we make a Coaching change, it won’t be until the end of the season.
  23. Well this season is certainly petering out.
  24. Playing on a winger, not a defender and has done nothing this year otherwise.
  25. Good start.
