2026 Breakout Players
Hoping Kentfield, Jeffo and Howes have breakout years. With Mihocek added, it will be harder for the first two to both make it this year.

2026 Breakout Players
I have written him off previously, but this is the year where he has his best and probably last chance to make it with us. I have a funny feeling he just may do it. Good luck Bill.

The New Home Base & Training Ground Thread
I don’t see a Government contribution of say $30m being removed, as scuttling the project. First, it would be unlikely to not get anything, if that was the figure that was originally promised, even if there was a reduction and secondly, say 30000 adult members of the MFC, if there was no other way to get the missing contribution, would only need to up their membership by $100.00 a year for 10 years to cover that whole amount. That member contribution of course relates to the whole $30m and without any other efforts to find that amount. I don’t see us losing a Government contribution, given the contribution made to other clubs. Also with Tassie coming in, the TV rights will increase and the AFL may have more to provide if there was a shortfall. Then of course there will be the extra money we will get for winning the next few flags.

It isn’t.

Scared of snakes, so please accept my thanks and my declining of your offer. Caulfield will happen, but like most, I was disappointed to not get more info at the AGM, even if we were asked not to announce anything. We could have been given some info on what we were discussing with the authorities, without making any announcements.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
So you think Taylor and Latrelle Pickett won’t make it.

Agree. Too many seem to forget that with Clarry and CP we finished 14th the last two years and had an unhappy locker room. There just had to be change, or 14th or worse was staring us in the face again. "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results" I'd like to think our leaders are not insane. PS: Yes the last two posts probably belong on the Farewell Clarry thread, so back to AJ.

Have we looked at Daisy?

A suspension risk is not a problem for a player who is not best 23. For example, you play a final and he does a Maynard to Daicos early in the game. Anyone think we can't win the next final without AJ? Having a physical player in your side also makes the opposition look around. Lastly, players from the VFL stand alone sides, need a season or so with an AFL side to get AFL fit and adjust to the tempo. Therefore AJ could be an improver this season.

I can't see Henderson getting another game. AJ offers a bit more, but he will also struggle to get games.

Demons Appoint New Strategy Boss Eventually (Update)
I think there is a chance he has come in to have a couple of years at the club, before other people might be retiring or moving on. JT, TL or AR could be finishing up in a year or two and he could be the replacement, working with them until then.

Demons Appoint New Strategy Boss Eventually (Update)
I was looking for it when I did my post, but alas couldn't find one.

Demons Appoint New Strategy Boss Eventually (Update)
I think we should smash the cr-p out of the Club and Guy, before we know what the role actually is and whether he can do it.

The New Home Base & Training Ground Thread
The school is not wanting control over the ovals. Fact. The ovals are an MFC project, not a school project, that they know will be built near the MFC facilities, not the school. Fact. That under the banner of community use, they may get some limited use, when not needed by the primary user the MFC. Fact. Over and out.

If he can reproduce consistently the form he showed in the practice game where he got injured, we will have another very good player.

The New Home Base & Training Ground Thread
No you missed the point, we don’t get the ovals and possibly the facility area, unless we demonstrate community use. So we need someone like the school or other schools or the community to also use the ovals. Therefore the school is HELPING US get the project completed.

The New Home Base & Training Ground Thread
You do understand that we are looking to use Crown Land, which is usually meant for community use, not solely for a Professional AFL club, to the exclusion of the community. The school are working hand in hand with us and supporting each other and just maybe a small use by the school of the ovals, when not used by the MFC, is the catalyst for the Trust and Government to approve and contribute to the project, because of some COMMUNITY use. With the President saying we are really close, but are unable to announce it yet, I would think is a clear indication it is proceeding, but that the timing of the announcement is not ours to choose. I am as keen and impatient as all Demon fans for this to happen and am choosing to be positive not negative. I have a personal stake in this, as I want to start my retirement, knowing that I can walk to training and watch my beloved team train, in the company of like minded Demon fans and then maybe continue the discussion over a coffee or beer at the nearest provider. Exercise, refreshment, Demon training engagement, the occasional hug from Ghosty and MFC discussion, will be a great start for Redleg, filling in the non working days. Hopefully I can add more tomorrow, if I get to speak to any MRC committee persons who are happy to discuss the topic.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
I also have Kaddari in race 3 at Yarra Valley today, but I am not a betting man, so I will watch my horses and Clarry go around, with no betting on their performances.
