Why not picks 1 to 5 an unweighted lottery for teams 14-18; picks 6 to 10 for teams 9-13.If you give pick 1 to team 9, teams will target position 9, rather than 8 where they will get flogged in an early final. This whole thing has always had a smell about it.....a set up. WJ has summarised nicely why IMO, On the Couch would only have run the McLean interview if they knew that McLean's comments would have a flow on effect. What I don't understand is why refusing to meet with a club prior to a draft (eg Tippett/GWS, Ball/any club) is not tampering with the draft. Seems to me any player can walk from a club, refuse to meet with any club other than the one they choose, then head to that club of choice. How is that not tampering with the draft? Draft is irrelevant except for first time listings. Only a matter of time before they "refuse to meet" certain clubs.

Touche. Disagree; if the board thinks/knows it is highly winnable, I say go for it. In the hands of lawyers, no distraction for the club. The Age will settle; more $s for club. I say: "don't get angry, get even". We as a club have had sand kicked in our face for far too long. Map out a plan, then slowly, determinedly put it into place and make them pay; leave the press out of it, just go after them quietly, methodically and ruthlessly. Time to be ruthless, but fair, on and off the ground.
