Reading between the lines of the latest official statement on the matter, we may never know, as it appears the outcome of the AFL Commission hearing into Tippett’s final Crows contract has made Kevin Sheedy’s club reconsider their potential quarry. Giants chief executive David Matthews made the following statement in relation to Tippett. "We note the sanctions handed down by the AFL Commission today and we now have a clear understanding of Kurt Tippett’s availability for the 2013 season," he said. "We now want to see the financial terms on which he will nominate for next month’s draft so we can assess his affordability. "We also have to consider whether he is the right fit for the club as we continue to build a strong culture amongst our young playing group. "These are all factors we will now carefully consider over the coming days before making a decision on whether to draft him with our first selection."
