  1. Bail at least has the starting credentials: speed, tank, hardness, likeness for physical contact. Puts him ahead of half the list at least. Some of his games are better than others; so be it.
  2. From the AFL web site re US combine: "Essentially the brief was that we wanted guys who were exceptional athletes, who were tall, and the nature of the way they played basketball suggested they were open to physical contact," That would leave Jack out, I'd reckon.
  3. After tonight's rabble, you might well ask why would he stay if he has other offers?
  4. FWIW, I reckon it started with him nominating for the 2008 draft; he was VERY under age (he is 21 now!), but am guessing he nominated because the following year GC came into it, and MFC said they would take him (WC had next pick). The age rules changed for the next year's draft. He should have never nominated for the 2008 draft. Full stop. Sadly, he has the athletic and ball/eye-hand skills, but not the rest. The AFL is not for Jack. He will be the MFC's Tambling (legend/folklore wise that is).
  5. As Clint said: he should just go and play basketball. AFL is not for everyone, irrespective of talent.
  6. He will be there next year. Get used to it. On tonight's effort, very few players can hold up their head.
  7. Pretty fair summary I would have thought. His manager has indicated "he hasn't left yet", so he will sit down with the club and between them see if they can see a way that it can work better (and reach agreement on $s). If not, and there are offers elsewhere, then I guess he's off. For whatever reason, he has had a poor year; so its either fix it at MFC or try somewhere else. Must say, if Moloney goes, and with lots of contracts front loaded, we will have sh!t loads of salary cap space. Presumably, we have some big fish in mind. Better.
  8. Moloney "not gone yet" - link His agent talking.
  9. ....And couldn't run out of sight on a dark night. NRL players are very heavily muscled with little aerobic capacity. AFL players may well make similar comments about their running capacity/training.
  10. Don't hold back....tell us what you really think.
  11. On a positive note, we seem to be winning off the field. Opel has extended its sponsorship - link Players and staff donate $30k to club -link (article is on lions web site...lol) Foundation heroes raise $750k Just gotta do a lot better on the field.
  12. Rehn taking over from Primus, apparently.
  13. Sort of: link
  14. At the very end, they wished him good luck for a new contract. Aint gunna happen; the lad's been used. More fool him (unless he got a sock of $s to appear on the show. )
  15. Correct. I don't question what he said (just wondering why he said it now, this week). No question the MFC was seeking the compensation pick. We are not the first club to do so by a long way. FWIW, if carlton hadn't scored Judd by a fraudulent deal outside the salary cap, I reckon they would be at the arse end of the ladder now. Ed. FWIW I rate McLean as a straight up guy/player. gave $10k to the club debt reduction FFS. BUT, he won't be at carlton next year, none the less.
  16. Don't remember McLean being flagged as the guest this week, do you? My guess? his manager (Ricky?) offered him up as a juicy interviewee, especially considering his patch of good form. His last chance of pay day! Ratten was less than glowing as a reference.
  17. That's why he was on the show; nothing to do with kicking a winning goal. You make my point; thanks .
  18. Bet Brock is NOT at carlton next year. Sad for him.
  19. Indeed. What is McLean doing on the show? He is not in Carlton's best 22 (up until last week or so, maybe). Can only be to give him media time to visit the MFC history. When he left MFC, he was barely best 22. This is a Foxtel witch hunt. Pure and simple; sadly, Brock has let himself be the means. You joke surely? When McMahon kicked the goal, there were a lot of relieved officials/people at the club. (Sic when you think about the tiges over the last 3 weeks!)
  20. Can is the operative word. That's where all the angst comes from here on this forum. CAN. Too often its CAN'T/WON'T. Ed: added
  21. Might as well have. Sylvia crashed a pack for a mark; Ferguson was his only casualty- out for 8? weeks, never to fire a shot again. Actually, I liked ferguson; fearless - then there's Sylvia . Folks should get used to the co-captains and the leadership group being "safe" from being dropped or de-listed. Won't happen.
  22. We are a club without a "team". Great facilities, 10+ coaches, no debt............but no team. We will struggle against GWS in Sydney & GC in Qld. Bottom is not beyond us.
  23. Beams and Wellingham are good mids in a top mid-field (4th and 5th in line probably). Big gamble to draft them and expect them to perform as they do at the filth, where Pendlebury, Swan and Sidebottom get the tags. Not worthy of 1st rounders IMO.
