Saints averaged 100 games today. Dont under estimate the effect that reiwoldt, monty, fisher, dempster have on the side. All 200 game plus players. We just don't have that.
-
Still the youngest and most inexperienced side in the competition. These loses are expected
-
We are slow... Trenners and Oliver won't help this. Saints buzzed all around us and we couldn't keep up. Need some outside run desperately
-
Should be in defense and Salem in the forward line

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM
bandicoot replied to Theo's topic in Melbourne Demons
Salem is wasted down back. Unfortunately grimes can't be trusted down back and melk is out for the year. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM
bandicoot replied to Theo's topic in Melbourne Demons
Jake is a superior player atm to both wagner and hunt. Will got a spot over then all day long -
Where does Chris Dawes fit in all this?
bandicoot replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Frost and Pederson aren't exactly cementing their spot. The Centre half forward position is up for grabs by any of these 3 -
Spencer is critical to the success of the side. If max goes down then he is an ideal replacement for a few weeks. Might even be possible to bring him in for odd games during the season whilst resting max. Gawn will find it difficult to play every game this year.

The improvement from 2015 is huge. 20% in I50, 10% UP, 10% CP, 30% score. CP is about even from 2015 as this has been a real focus since Ross began. If we keep this up then we will have a good season

Most of the players who are currently in the 2nds will get their chance sooner rather then later . The reality is that we are just one bad lose and a few injuries/reports to have 3 ins. trenners, Trac, Oliver, m jones, ANB and stretch will all play before round 10. even injured Dawes and Vanders will get a shot.

Is there a role for Roosy in Team Goodwin?
bandicoot replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Roos hasnt shown much interest in continuing in a secondary role in the club. I think he is happy to hand over the reigns and go live in Hawaii. -
Not too sure who would cover for the loss of Gwen? Spencer is still injured and not match fit. Pederson?
-
Roos and montagna might both be out...
-
Not too sure if Brayshaw is injured however if he isn't then keep in in the side. Let him get match fitness by playing. Only change might be Hunt or harmes out for petracca. Otherwise keep side as is...

I think the 8 is almost set now with only GC and Crows swapping spots. The Dees will be contending for 9-10 spots. 8-9 wins from 17 games will see us just outside the 8. For us to win 10+ games will require the team to have a winning mindset and a strong belief. Minimum injuries to key players and the added X factor of petracca and trengove.

The Game Plan - It seems to be working
bandicoot replied to Its Time for Another's topic in Melbourne Demons
The top sides do not give the ball over especially when they have control out of a kick in. Our players aren't much worse than the top sides. Our game plan doesn't exist for these kick outs -

The Game Plan - It seems to be working
bandicoot replied to Its Time for Another's topic in Melbourne Demons
We still have no structure when kicking out of defense. It seems like we keep bombing the ball out to a contest. -
Pandering to corporate media? Channel 7 would love to bring back the players next week and have 2 grand finals. Same with the advertises and the mcg. this was a decision made purely because the fans wanted it
-
Very good analysis...

This is correct. We are lacking small defenders who can use the ball well. in saying that, he is better suited to a high half forward goal kicking role. He is great one on one and had a solid kick. future roles will hopefully see him playing stints in the midfield and used as a goal kicking option.

There is a common theme with all GF sides. Starting 22 have an average of 100 games and age of 27.
-
On the weekend we fielded the youngest and most inexperienced side in the comp. Average age of 23 years and 10 months with 62 games. Shows that there is massive upside and also that this year will be a bit of a roller coaster regarding performance.
-
Our expectations of this season need to be tempered when understanding the youth and experience of our list

Second year blues?
