Doesn't seem to work on mobile ... -
Round 1 isn't tomorrow... It's 4 months away. That will make his recovery from injury 15 months. He will play 1-2 nab cup games and if there are no issues he will be at the G round 1
-
Patrick Cripps had 34 possessions in his first VFL game in 2014 and the only reason he didn't play regular AFL football was due to a broken leg. He then went on to win Carlton B&F in 2015. Should have played AFL more regularly in 2014. In relation to competition for spots, Oliver can play high half forward as he is a known goal scorer. Big asset that others might not have

The only way Lumumba and Dawes will be dropped is either injury or massive form drop. Roos brought in Lumumba and values what Dawes brings to the side. Garland will also be there round 1 and will only get dropped if his form drops significantly. ANB and Stretch are still too raw and will make way for bigger bodies experienced players
-
Petracca, Brayshaw and Oliver are big bodied mids that were in the top 3 best players in Australia. I also doubt the recruiters were basing the opinion on a 'small highlight package'. I would be disappointed if they weren't playing round 1.

Gunston, bruest, smith, birchall, stratton, suckling, shiels..... Competitive beasts??? All skillful players that play their role. Watts needs to stick to his task week in week out. If he does this then his spot is guaranteed

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER

I think Oliver is a lock for a forward role come round 1.... Has the size and strength. Just needs a good preseason to build his fitness -

Defensive work??? We are not planning for this guy to be a tagger. the best form of defense for this guy is attack. Sides will need to get 2 players on him in order to bring him down. Are you comparing him to Mckenzie because he is a red head? Mckenzie couldn't break tackles and is listed as 71kg. Clayton has 15 kg on Jordan and has just turned 18. -

Nearly every AFL aligned VFL side has 10-12 AFL players. That's a lot more than 2 at WAFL and SANFL -

Parish might turn out to be a gun however the football departments preference was for a bigger bodies mid -

I tend to agree... There are more AFL listed player running around in VFL than WAFL and SANFL combined -
My side looks the same...

That's exactly why we picked Oliver ahead of Parish. Roos wants a top 10 mid to play round 1 and match it with the best. i.e Brayshaw At 74 kg Parish will be bowled over next year

Makes this even more impressive if he only had 60% game time with no pre season. -

He will likely start as a high half forward and have a few minutes per quarter in the midfiled. He can mark overhead and kick goals. That's a massive asset. Could be a Jake Stringer type -

He played for Richmond against Box Hill and had 6 kicks, 10 handballs, 5 marks and kicked a behind. That's amazing considering he didn't have a pre season, is 17 yo and has never played with that squad before. Against Williamstown he had 4 kicks, 9 handballs, 2 marks and 4 tackles. He was also named in Richmond's best for the day. How many TAC cup player could do that? What it shows is that he is good enough for VFL at 17 without a preseason. -

My concern with Parish was his size. This is the same concern that the recruiters had. If you don't weigh more than 80kg then you will get bowled over in the midfield. Top 10 Mids need to come into AFL and have an impact from day one. i.e Brayshaw. Oliver will stand in the centre square in round 1 and will match it with the best. -

Have a look at who the recruiters have picked up in the last couple of drafts. Our TOP 10 picks have all been over 183 cm and over 80 kgs. Brayshaw, Pettracca, Salem There is a pattern here and I cant see them breaking this. Roos wants big bodied tall mids and thats exactly what we will get. Parish is out of the picture. -

Fyfe is 190cm Parish is 180cm No comparison. I'm concerned that parish isn't big enough for today's midfield -
I think there is a question mark over parish's height and weight. He is too small for the midfield Roos is trying to build: Oliver is the exact height and weight for what we are looking for. Could step into the midfield tomorrow and physically compete with the best in the comp. Parish would get bullied at every contest until he puts on another 10kg

Love this... Looks more menacing. I wonder if they will use this in some of their promotions -

Can't see Michie getting much game time this year. Will be delisted with jones and terlich at years end. Will be replaced with better players

Maybe you can be the first to put your hard earned down.
