Spencer will step up for the challenge if max needs a break or gets injured. Spencer isn't much worse then any other backup ruckman in the league

Not sure what information he still needs after 6 months of medical checkups and advise. I have a feeling he hasn't received a satisfactory answer regarding his future health. Unfortunately there might not be a concrete answer relating to concussion. If he isn't satisfied about his future health then he needs to step aside and retire. His health is paramount and if he feels that's in jeopardy then that's all that matters.

You can't substitute height and size. Oliver is both bigger and stronger than Parish. It took Scully almost 6 years to have an impact at AFL level as he was too small to compete with the bigger mids. The Dees can't afford to wait 6 years until Parish fills out. They needed a mid that has immediate impact i.e Wines Will be interesting to see how Parish deals with the pressure of a tagger and ability to shake off and make tackles. Oliver was rag-dolling the opposition in his first season.

The issue hasn't been playing at Alice. It's a 2 hour flight and weather is mild. We don't need the bye after that. the issue is darwin. It's a 5 hour flight and the weather drains the players. They can lose 3-4 kgs from sweat. the players come back to freezing Melbourne the following week and struggle. Port will be marking their game against us a a win

Any chance of the Dees picking him up as a rookie? Backup if hogan or pederson are out and weids is not ready to play. We have had far worse rookies on our list in the past

As well as his wife's business might be doing it definitely wont be making $1.5m per year. He will be at Collingwood in a heart beat with those $$$$. He might not want to be in the spotlight as a head coach but would jump at the opportunity of being in a director of football role.
