WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN KENNEDY

If 'we' wanted to keep him then we would have have matched Collingwood $350k p/a. -

We never wanted him because we thought we would get overs for him in a trade. That never happened and we couldn't all of a sudden change our mind. We misjudged the situatuon -
Was worth having on the list even as a depth player. Given the right pre season and experience he would have been handy. Essentially we hope that pick 29 is a success.

Good point. The browlow is also skewed. Rewards those that play most games Sarcasm is you couldn't detect

If Kennedy is getting a game in 2016 then we are in real trouble. -

We gave the guy 2.5 seasons. Matt jones is getting a bloody game and still has a contract. Jimmy never got a real chance. We could have traded him for #29 in the next 5 drafts. -

Who actually sits on a computer to read demoland? I use a iPhone with a small screen and predictive text. I didn't know these forums were also English classes. -

We picked up garlett and cross for nothing. No one was upset with that -

We have lost 2 starting 22 players and in exchange received a fringe player and a random pick at 29. Not too sure how we improved the list -

Kennedy isn't even in out top 18 players. He won't play more than a handful of games next year. How is that a good deal? We don't need another light bodied small forward in the forward line. Garrett is enough. -

Exactly... Matt jones still has a bloody contract and we are so hasty to get rid of toump: What was the rush? We would have gotten pick 30 for him in the next 5 drafts. -

Mahoney is a spud:.. Hold firm and send Howe to GC otherwise let him go in the draft. Poor decision -

jimmy for #29 in a weak draft is practically a give away. There is more chance of turning toumpas around then hoping a 18yo in the draft will make it. -

What??? Have you seen the build on this guy? 175 cm and 75 kg at the age of 22. He is too small for a mid and unproven as a forward. We don't need another undersized mid that gets pushed over in the contest. Terrible recruitment decision. -

Exactly my thoughts... What on earth has the football department just done. Kennedy is a hack. Too small for the midfield and unproven as a small forward. Toumpas for pick 29??? Wtf!!! Pick 4 in the draft a couple of years back. Makes me sick to the stomach that we passed on wines, McRae and stringer. The drafting department needs to be shown the door after such a poor choice. I would have also preferred to keep him on the list as pick 29 in a weak draft as almost worthless. -
Seems more and more likely that toumpas will stay. Doesn't seem like any club will offer anything in the top 30. Any pick over 30 would be unders for jimmy imo.

1 week in and the only club that has come out in front so far is Geelong. 17 other clubs are all neutral. Other then Dangerfield, no A grade midfielder has been mooted as available. For one to appear out of nowhere is a little optimistic.

If you don't believe that our pickup of Jake for pick 25 is a good deal for Melbourne then your football knowledge has to be questioned. Draft picks are over rated. You have more chance of winning at the casino then getting 100 games out of pick 25 in a weak draft. Instead we pick up an established player that automatically slots into our best dozen players, has played 100 games and is a proven afl player.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM

Great pick up Dees. Pick 25 (30 after academy picks) is cheap for a 24 yo - 115 gamer. I think people are over rating draft picks. Not even the #1 pick is a certainty. Jake will be in our top dozen players every week and will push our fringe players. M Jones, Michie, Grimes, Newton etc He also has a little mongrel about him. Extra points for decking Jackson. -

Pick 25 over the last 5 years: 2010 - Patrick Karnezis 2011 - Seb Ross 2012 - Spencer White 2013 - Daniel Mcstay 2014 - Daniel Neilson All of the above are completely worthless. To make it worse this is also reported to be a weak draft. I'll take a afl proven 115 gamer, past top 10 pick that's played in a sinking ship any day of the week -
Played a massive role tonight and showed to the football world exactly why he was worth pick 3.
-
Roos game plan is completely outdated. All the current successful teams have modelled themselves on Hawthorn. West Coast, Bulldogs, Richmond and soon to be carlton. Roos needs to be able to recognise this
-
Both Michie and m jones are not the future of the club. I doubt michie will get a contract next year and jones will play out his career at Casey. Vandenberg, Salem, toumpas and fitz are all preferable over these 2.
-
No idea which dimwit at the club gave m jones a contract extension until the end of 2016. His kick at goal from 45 landed 20 short.

There is no way H goes out. We also need to consider that there was a flu going around the club. Wouldn't surprise me if a third of the side was sick. I
