Kobe Farmer
My assessment was based on what I saw in the B match against Richmond, and the odd mention in training reports. Based on these (albeit limited) showings, he seems way off the pace to me. The 2020 draft was compromised by the limited exposure of many of the Vic based kids, and for this reason it's likely that many decent prospects were overlooked by us, and other clubs. I'd much rather give these kids an opportunity to show their wares early, and pick one up mid-year, based on performance (ie. best available principle). Koby's turn will come then (or most likely later) IF he's good enough!

Kobe Farmer
He looked 'lost' for most of the practice game against Richmonds B and C graders. I can't see him being given a rookie spot based on that performance. If possible, I'd like to see him get a spot on the Casey list for the upcoming season. That way we could ensure that he has a specifically tailored work program and see how he progresses. Maybe a list spot next year IF he shows enough.

AFLW: Rd 05 vs Collingwood
We need to win this one. The addition of two of our top liners makes us much stronger. Go Dees! https://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/869739/aflw-round-5-team-two-additions-for-pies-clash

Clayton Oliver 100 Games Round 1 2021 vs FREO
Clarry has been very good from day one. Extremely resilient, having played through a heap of his 99 games with a bung shoulder. Definitely has it in him to go to another level, especially with a bit of tuition and guidance from Adem.

GAMEDAY: B-Side vs Richmond
Early days, and the opposition was VFL level, but it's easy to see why we took Bowey and Laurie in the first round. Both are 'natural' footballers and have the class we are crying out for. Petty should be a 'lock' against the Dogs next weekend. Beyond these three, not too much to get excited about from the B game. Rosman showed glimpses of potential, but is not a 'natural', and will take time.

POSTGAME: Practice Match vs Richmond
1. Great just to have footy back. 2. Credit to our boys for the win over the best team in the comp., especially given we had some key 'outs'. 3. Pleased to see how well the forward line functioned, even with our two main KPFs on the sidelines. Can only see improvement when they return. Increased competition for small forward spots is great. I 50 tackling pressure looks to have improved. 4. Defense held up ok with May and Lever clear standouts, but need to apply more pressure to oppo small forwards 5. Mids won the day, even without Viney and Brayshaw. Max, Clarrie and Tracc continue to be a class above. The stand--in mids were solid 5. The game plan seemed better, with flexibility, and run and carry through the corridor. I'm always an optimist at this time of year, but I didn't see too much to deter my confidence for 2021.

What is your "Go To" Dees Game Highlights Video
Great choice 'soup! That last 5 minutes was unbelievable, and the outpouring of emotion that followed it will live with me until the day they drape my old red and blue jumper over a pine box. For an old fart like me, the only possible rival would be the last 5 mins of the 1964 GF vs Collingwood ...... the Froggy Crompton goal and the Ray Gabelich 'drunken' run. Indelible memories!

Vale Murray Weideman
Very sad. I will never forget Murray's clashes with RDB during our golden era. They were epic. Sympathies to Sam and the Weideman family.

2021 Injury List
Damn, it never rains but it pours on the injury front! ............. but hopefully Tom Mac, 'Tom' Petty and Jacko can make it rain goals, to compensate for BBB and Weid's crap luck.

Eddie McGuire Steps Down Effective Immediately
Well, at least C'wood now has some chance of developing a culture befitting the 21st century.

TMac Opens Up About 2020
A typically honest chat with Tom. Leaving no stone unturned to get back to his best, and if he can, it will make us a better side, no matter what position(s) he plays.

AFLW: Rd 02 vs Richmond
It's a long way from home (in a couple of respects), but I'm almost starting to believe.

New Demonland Player Sponsor - Karen Paxman
Great choice! Just another reason to be a 'Demonlander'.

AFLW: Rd 01 vs Gold Coast
For the first couple of seasons, the AFLW frustrated me, but that's all changed. I now respect and enjoy it for what it is, and look forward to it as an exciting prelude to the AFL season. A close game involving the Dees has me on the edge of the lounge, and after a win, I sing the song almost as loud as I do for the men.

Great work Stinga, thanks! Is it just me, or is there a hint of 'Demonland' excitement in the air?

Great report Kenty. Many thanks for your efforts. Anything to suggest whether Fraser Rodman will live up to the recent Demonland hype?

Player Numbers 2021
My problem is that I still remember the player numbers from the 1950s and 1960s like they were still playing, but I struggle with the current team. I mentioned this to Mrs Deeoldfart one day last season, and she comforted me by saying "that's quite understandable dear, the game is so much faster these days".

Remembering Troy Broadbridge
I'll never forget Broady; I'll never forget his memorial game. I doubt that there was a dry Melbourne eye during the opening ceremony at the packed MCG. Melbourne could never have been beaten that night. Broady's spirit was always with us; I'll never forget the great work that our Club / players did to rebuild a school in the Phi Phi Islands in Broady's memory.
