TMac is back! Well done Tommy!

GAMEDAY: Rd 01 vs Fremantle
I’ll be stuck in Canberra, glued to the TV and dressed in my full game day outfit. I’ll be cheering along with you folks at the G, and belting out the words of the Grand Old Flag with you after the final siren (I wonder what the new neighbours will think!). Dees by 5 or 6 goals!

TEAMS: Rd 01 vs Fremantle
Some people are just slow learners drysdale. Three of the four named on the bench could play on the wing for starters. Personally I'd like to see Riv given an opportunity there.

Demonland Podcast Featuring Gary Pert
Great podcast fellas. Thank you! The following observations from Perty were the highlights for me: - over the break, he has seen a major step-up in player maturity and leadership from the likes of May, Lever, Petracca, ANB and others, who have taken it upon themselves to 'drive standards'; - in the context that consistent skill execution has been an obvious weakness, improving this area has been a key focus of the off-season; - Adem Yze is very comfortable 'pushing back' against Goody and the other coaches, where he has an alternate view or opinion; - Choco has been more than prepared to make players 'uncomfortable' if they don't measure up to the high standards which he expects; - Goody is really enjoying the energy, ideas and IP provided by the new members of the coaching group. If all of this translates to game days, we have an exciting season to look forward to. Bring it on!!

James Jordon to Debut Round 1
Best wishes for a long and successful career in the red & blue JJ. If you are half as good as a previous #23 (Junior Mac), you will serve our Club well. ps. from the very limited bits I've seen of JJ, I can see a few similarities with Junior.

AFLW: Rd 07 vs Adelaide
Agree, Mithen gets 'rag dolled' a lot, and this season they seem (unnecessarily) go that extra bit to make it hurt (including sling tackles). To her great credit, she brushes herself off, and gets on with the job. Easy to see that she loves the jumper!

Outstanding win by our girls! Played with true Demon spirit, and worked as 'one' with desire, courage and intensity.

Casey Demons Vs Box Hill Hawks.
I've always made a point of not criticizing the MFC on here, but the absence of any information about this match, with senior selections potentially hinging on it, is shameful. It disrespects us supporters who, after all, are the lifeblood of the Club. Grrrr!

1960 Premiership Reunion
I rate myself very lucky to have been been around in our 'glory years', and mention of the names from that era bring the memories flooding back. To coin a modern day phrase, I'm still 'proud to belong'. I have a wife, 3 kids and 5 grand kids, all of whom share my passion (they had little choice on that!). I only hope that they, and all Demonlanders who have not had the privilege, will soon experience the joy of #13.

Rd 01 Availability: Viney, Pickett & Brayshaw?
Agree, but the concern for me is that the VFL doesn't start until 17 April. Horrible arrangement if we are looking for our under-done players to have one or two serious / competitive hit-outs to get them cherry ripe for the seniors. Same applies to other clubs who have a VFL team as their 'ressies'.

2021 Herald Sun Predictions
I'm moderately surprised at the lack of love for the Dees ......... but at least reading these predictions won't provide a lot of bathwater for our boys to drink.

Brilliant work PF. Thanks for effort on behalf of all of us!!

AFLW: Rd 05 vs Collingwood
When you do the basics right, you give yourself a chance. When you don't, you give yourself no chance. That just about sums it up.

3rd ACL for Aaron Nietschke
I'm absolutely gutted for the kid. Nobody deserves that sort of luck. Bloody hard, but 'keep your head up' Aaron.

AFLW: Rd 05 vs Collingwood
Why couldn't we play like that in the first half (goalkicking notwithstanding)?

Kobe Farmer
My assessment was based on what I saw in the B match against Richmond, and the odd mention in training reports. Based on these (albeit limited) showings, he seems way off the pace to me. The 2020 draft was compromised by the limited exposure of many of the Vic based kids, and for this reason it's likely that many decent prospects were overlooked by us, and other clubs. I'd much rather give these kids an opportunity to show their wares early, and pick one up mid-year, based on performance (ie. best available principle). Koby's turn will come then (or most likely later) IF he's good enough!

Kobe Farmer
He looked 'lost' for most of the practice game against Richmonds B and C graders. I can't see him being given a rookie spot based on that performance. If possible, I'd like to see him get a spot on the Casey list for the upcoming season. That way we could ensure that he has a specifically tailored work program and see how he progresses. Maybe a list spot next year IF he shows enough.

AFLW: Rd 05 vs Collingwood
We need to win this one. The addition of two of our top liners makes us much stronger. Go Dees! https://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/869739/aflw-round-5-team-two-additions-for-pies-clash

Clayton Oliver 100 Games Round 1 2021 vs FREO
Clarry has been very good from day one. Extremely resilient, having played through a heap of his 99 games with a bung shoulder. Definitely has it in him to go to another level, especially with a bit of tuition and guidance from Adem.

GAMEDAY: B-Side vs Richmond
Early days, and the opposition was VFL level, but it's easy to see why we took Bowey and Laurie in the first round. Both are 'natural' footballers and have the class we are crying out for. Petty should be a 'lock' against the Dogs next weekend. Beyond these three, not too much to get excited about from the B game. Rosman showed glimpses of potential, but is not a 'natural', and will take time.
