Luke Jackson's Offseason Transformation
I love it. This kid could be a 'game changer', and we already have a couple of those!

2020 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem
Salo had a good, consistent year. He is good one-on-one, reads the play well, and has elite disposal, but I keep waiting for him to take his game to the next level. I reckon he has it in him, but I'm just not sure it will happen. Seventh in the 'Bluey' was about right imo. 7/10 from me.

Yze is a Demon Again
I love the part of this interview with Adem where he talks about the need for 'cohesion' in our midfield group: https://www.melbournefc.com.au/video/836826/ep5-the-off-season-adem-yze?videoId=836826&modal=true&type=video&publishFrom=1605673170001

Jackson Extends Until 2022
Now that news turned a crap day into something much better for me! LJ will make huge strides in the next couple of years. Why would he commit to a long term deal now? Much better to defer for a couple of years when his real worth will be known, and he will get paid accordingly.

2020 Player Reviews: #17 Harley Bennell
Every punter has their share of 'busts'. We took a punt on a long-shot and it failed to deliver. Well done Dees for giving Harley another shot in a field where he had previously excelled! It might have been a 'masterstroke' for all parties. Tough times ahead for Harley and his family, I'd imagine. Hope he manages to fight off his inner 'demons'.

2020 Player Reviews: #14 Michael Hibberd
Overcame horrible adversity and a significant form slump in 2019, to finish top 10 in the Bluey. An outstanding effort in the circumstances. Well done Hibbo!

2020 Player Reviews: #12 Toby Bedford
I guess I'm ambivalent about Toby. I've seen the odd encouraging glimpse, but not enough to convince me that he has the 'wares' to make it. Like others, I find it mystifying that we didn't see more of him during the season. Hopefully he put the time to good use, and he 'blitzes' pre season 2021.

Open Ben
I only ever knew BB, the very good footballer. After watching that vid, I now have a tiny insight into BB the person. What a well grounded young man he seems to be! He will influence our culture in a good way, I reckon.

2020 Player Reviews: #16 Kade Kolodjashnij
Given the risk of permanent brain damage, I very much doubt that Kade will play again. In the context of what appear to be ongoing health problems, and reduced list sizes in 2021, I hope that he will step away from the game, with an amicable settlement between his management and the MFC, in relation to the final year of his contract. A sad end to a promising career, but I trust and expect that the MFC, GCS and the AFLPA will look after his future welfare. ps. probably just me being over-sensitive, but I detest the belittling term 'steak knives' in relation to our players, especially in these circumstances.

2020 AFL Mature age draft prospects
No doubt the pool of talent has been spread more thinly with the emergence of GCS and GWS in the last decade.

Who Will We Dislodge from the 2020 Final Eight?
Gee, not much love or sympathy for Collingwood being shown around here! Shameful!

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
It's hard for a Dees fan, not to love Mahoney's work at this tome of year! We now have the center-pieces around which we can build a decent forward line.

"MELBOURNE is set to execute a pick swap with Adelaide which could help unlock a deal to land North Melbourne's Ben Brown. AFL.com.au understands the Crows will send a second-round pick (currently No.33) and a third-round pick (currently No.50) to the Demons in exchange for their future second-round and future fourth-round selections."

2020 Player Reviews: #41 Jay Lockhart
I reckon Jay has some solid AFL attributes, but I'm not convinced that he's a natural defender. I think we hoped that he'd be our next Nev Jetta, but that's not his caper. I think he should spend the upcoming pre-season with the forwards group. If he's going to make it as a regular, I reckon that's where it will be. (5/10 for 2020)

2020 Player Reviews: #42 Josh Wagner
Like his brother, he didn't quite have what it takes at the top level. He had hit his peak, and was always going to be no more than an occasional a 'stop-gap' in our best 22.. Simply put, one of those 'depth' players who we had to delist if we aspire to bigger things. Thanks for your service Josh ..... the AFL is a tough business.

2020 Player Reviews: #40 Corey Wagner
A fringe player who worked hard, but didn't quite have the ability or class to make it at the top level. Thanks for your hard work and dedication Corey.

2020 Player Reviews: #46 Austin Bradtke
IIRC, there were indications (from Demonland track- watchers and Casey-watchers) that he was progressing quite well in the second half of 2019, but there's no way of knowing what (if any) progress he has made this year. A 'bean-pole' Category B Rookie who will obviously take time to develop, but only Club insiders would know if he's worth persevering with.

2020 Player Reviews: #44 Joel Smith
I thought Joel did some solid negating roles in the second half of the season, and IMO, he earned his new one year deal. He was all over the place, and getting in the way of team mates early in the year, but I thought he improved as the season progressed, and he learned his role. He still has some way to go, but at worst, I reckon he's a decent, low cost 'back-up' defender for another year. (5.5 / 10)

THANK YOU FROM DEMONLAND
I return the thanks tenfold. As an 'interstater', Demonland is my football 'lifeblood'.

Nick Hind
This is what the Saints website has to say about him Daz: "Armed with explosive pace and a willingness to take the game on, mature-age recruit Nicholas Hind delighted Saints fans in the back half of Season 2019. The Clunes native made his debut in Townsville the week after being flown over to China as a last-minute emergency, lining up for every game following the bye to put 11 goals to his name. With the Saints’ small forward stocks given a boost in 2020 with the inclusion of Dan Butler and the return of Dean Kent from injury, Hind still managed to find a spot in the line-up following the season restart. Hind spent time in the club’s scratch matches after two games at senior level, with a series of consistent performances up forward and through the midfield resulting in a return ahead of Round 8. The livewire speedster was at his most impressive against Sydney, booting three eye-catching goals and playing a pivotal role in sparking St Kilda to its 53-point Pride Game victory at the Gabba. Hind was selected by St Kilda with pick No. 54 in the 2018 National Draft."

New CEO - Gary Pert
Many thanks for the 'heads-up' Chook. If Perty can pull this off in the current climate, he will be our best Secretary / CEO since Jimmy Cardwell.

Neville Jetta
I love Nev. He has gotten everything out of himself as a player and bleeds red and blue. I'd be heartbroken to see him running around in a C'wood jumper.
