I worked with Hassa for a while in the 1970s, when he was a public ‘face’ of a Federal Government initiative known as the ‘Advance Australia Program’. Apart from the the fact that he was an ex Dee, and a champion fella, I remember him as someone who came close to breaking my hand with a crushing and prolonged handshake when we were introduced.
