  1. I’ve been afflicted by chronic MFCSS for many years (well before it was formally diagnosed on Demonland), but I've been symptom-free all this week. No matter which angle I come from, I can’t see North beating our boys. Even in the extremely unlikely event that we enter the match bloated with week-old bathwater, we will hit the overdrive button at some point, and go on to win. We are just too talented, too professional, too driven and too well led, to let this one slip. Dees by a big margin!
  2. I thought that was pathetic and incredibly disrespectful to a legend of the Melbourne Football Club. Grrrr!
  3. I hope Jones is the medical sub
  4. I was in a remote area with no internet earlier in the week, and have just listened to the podcast. Best yet guys .... thanks! ps having just smashed the tiggies helps of course.
  5. North being so poor made it almost impossible to know what to take out of that match. My conclusions: - nobody smashed the door down tonight; - Casey played the Melbourne way, which is a very good sign
  6. Live on Fox Footy. Your local should have it on a screen somewhere if you don’t have Fox.
  7. To me, the following quotes from the MFC announcement epitomize the way JJ is now playing for us: "James has worked diligently on all parts of his game, and is now getting reward for his hard work" " he is a really mature young man with a terrific attitude" Not all players can be stars, but diligence, hard work and the right attitude can take you a long way!
  8. 6. Salem 5. Petracca 4. T. Mac 3. Oliver 2. Gawn 1. Lever
  9. I also like this approach. It’s aggressive, and shows plenty of confidence in those who have us sitting 5 zip. We need match hardened players against the tiggies, and one or two good performances in a very much weaker VFL competition doesn’t necessarily ‘cut it’, regardless of your name. How long has it been since we have had the ‘depth’ to make this sort of call at selection?
  10. I’m quietly, cautiously, daring to dream ....... as hard as I bloody well can! My heart beats true .......... What else can I do?
  11. Q. I've been silly enough to trust them when they have been flailing around as in 'a tidal rip, taking them out of their depth and in the wrong direction', so why would I not trust them now when they are on the 'crest of a wave'? A. I'm still silly.
  12. 6.. Gawn 5. Lever 4. Langdon 3. Salem 2. T.Mac 1. Hibberd Amazingly, I couldn’t find a vote for Tracc or Clarry
  13. At the 3/4 break, I was hoping (without a great deal of confidence) for the ‘relief’ if a hard-fought. ‘ugly’ win. Then we started playing how we played to get us to 4 zip, and in the ‘blink of an eye’, we look a million dollars. 5 zip! That’s what the good teams do!
  14. Most of us agree that Weid is a 'confidence player'. His confidence should be 'sky high' after today. 1 + 1 = 2. Looks like he's senior bound!
  15. C’mon Dees, let’s bury the old ‘Danger Game Syndrome’ once and for all. No more letting ourselves down by losing to weaker opponents. Just go about our business like we did last week, and prove the sceptics wrong. Dees by 7 goals!
  16. The Casey match is definitely not on here in Canberra. Please keep the updates coming for those of us who are 'out of the loop'. Thanks in advance folks!
  17. I love that Clarrie is continuing with us. It's 'a lot funner' being a Dees supporter with him in the team.
  18. In his very short career, Kozzi has already earned the right to give a bit if lip to the likes of Selwood. I love it.
  19. Ernest, I was a fervent supporter throughout our 'glory years' and my love for the Club has not diminished one iota during our extensive periods in the 'wilderness'. I fully understand your pragmatism, but I intend to ride the current 'ripple (not wave) of success' for however long it lasts. They have been too few and far between for me to give up now!.
  20. I just love this Club to death ..... and back again!
  21. Totally Agree DZ! I see loads of Choco influence in that trio.
  22. What an outstanding interview! Being brutally honest, and quite advanced in years, I teared up a tiny bit when Choco was encouraging supporters to get on board, and said "a lot of exciting times are coming very, very soon". Maybe, just maybe, it's not too late for me after all!
  23. In an interview before round 1, Max said that our players were “hurting” because they had let themselves and the supporters down by not making finals in 2020 .......... they were intent on redeeming themselves in 2021. His statement was (quite reasonably) greeted around here with many comments along the lines of “we’ve heard it all before”, “talk is cheap” and “we want actions, not words”. Well, I think in the first four rounds, we are starting to see strong evidence that Max is a man of his word, and our team is prepared to back him up.
  24. So hard to separate them in what is one of the very best TEAM efforts I’ve seen from the Dees in a very long time. Here’s my crack at it: 6. Lever 5. Viney 4. Gawn 3. Petracca 2. Langdon 1. Fritsch
  25. Lever’s LEADERSHIP!
