  1. I couldn't agree more. I was very privleged to have Cam talk me through the story-line a while back, and it is simply brilliant. If you love the look of the emblem, I promise you will be 'over the moon' when you understand the story that underpins it.
  2. Sad to see such an illustrious career end in this way IMO.
  3. According to MFC website "[Jordan] Gysberts might be a chance to play next round (after a back injury), but he's more likely to come through the VFL if available.”
  4. Well I've got you covered old dee. The fond memories of '64 still bring a tear to my eye, but nothing like the flood of emotion that will (unashamedly) accompany our next Flag ......... and I can honestly say that the 'potential' on our current list is considerably stronger than at any time since that great day in September '64.
  5. Probably the closest thr RS has been for years. I voted Jack Trengove on the assumption that he will be back next week or the week after. I have him just a whisker ahead of Hannebery at the moment.
  6. He wasn't good, but for the most part, neither was the delivery in his direction.
  7. 6. Frawley 5. Scully 4. McKenzie 3. Davey 2. MacDonald 1. Sylvia
  8. Brown was no more than a 'solid' player at Freo and the Kangas, but has become a more than that at C'wood where his versatility (in particular) is proving to be an asset. I like what's behind your argument, but IMO there would be a high degree of risk in punting on an established player of his ilk, who could very easily turn out to be a NQR. Not sure I would want to take the punt.
  9. Great stuff Darkhorse. Interesting, and greatly appreciated.
  10. Fantastic. Really looking forward to some feedback on how Big Max and Sam Blease go in the ressies. Geez I wish I lived in Melbourne during the footy season, I'd be down at Casey for sure.
  11. Seconded. They are doing some great work to keep us supporters in the loop.
  12. RIP Peter, and a multitude of thanks for your magnificent contribution to the Melbourne Football Club. Condolences to all your loved ones.
  13. We are not without a very slim chance, but I would feel more confident if we hadn't gone to sleep in the last quarter against Essendon. I think we will match up on Freo fairly well, but it will take nothing less than four quarters of committed footy if we are to be any chance at all. At this stage of our development we rarely dish up four quarters of committed footy.
  14. Good player IMO. I initially thought he was a late draft pick who might be a 'bit part' player at best. But his few games earlier this year stamped him as a potential late pick 'gem' in my eyes. He seems to read the play well, run all day and bring others into the play with his courage and good ball use. It's a pity he has had an injury interrupted start to his AFL career. Let's hope he's run out of bad luck, and can get some continuity going forward.
  15. Yep. I was speaking to Schwabby a few weeks back and he said the club is pretty excited about Fitz. He did acknowledge that he "needs a lot of work on his kicking". Another thing that encourages me is that he seems to be running out games fairly well, which hopefully means he is getting on top of his Chronic Fatigue.
  16. Respect should definately be our objective given our current ladder position and stage of development as a team. Essendon are a young team who played finals last year ....... they are now widely seen as having gone backwards in 2010. I would hate for our team to be seen in that light. We are much better placed in the 'respect stakes' than Essendon, to a large degree because we are methodically following a plan, and we havn't got too far ahead of ourselves. September action will come soon enough if we stick to the plan.

Perhaps his best game for the year IMO. Reliable for the most part, but Essendon's delivery into the forward 50, and their forward line pressure, were very ordinary for most of the game. This probably made life a bit easier for Riv.
  18. 6. Brad Green 5. Mark Jamar 4. Col Sylvia 3. Cam Bruce 2. Brent Moloney 1. Lynden Dunn
  19. The Foxtel games are all allocated before the season starts. Ch.7 is at fault, and they couldn't care less!
  20. Agree, it's pathetic. When similar nonsence occurred last year and the year before, I wrote to the AFL and the fta TV station expressing my frustration at this lunacy. Guess what? ...... no replies on either occasion! Hopeless!
  21. Utterly disrespectful to our great club.
  22. Well said jcb. You and I don't always see 'eye to eye', but we certainly do on this one!!!
  23. As an aside, one of the commentators on Fox said that Skull lost 3kg when he had his wisdom teeth out during the break.
  24. Spot on 32. The comments of some around here truely demonstrate their ignorance about the game, and where the Melbourne Footy team is currently at in this competition. We are all disappionted that we didn't give a yelp in the last, but geez .....
