  1. What's that? One from five? If you make enough predictions, you're bound to get one right. Well done, though.
  2. Well, there you go. You heard it, folks. Right from the horse's girlfriend's mother's friend's husband's mouth. End of story.
  3. BTW, what's the deal with Jones not even mentioning he was dropped on his Twitter account. You'd think he might say something about it, but he hasn't. Makes me think he'll be a late inclusion.
  4. Why? We can't be hanging onto every good player on the off-chance that they become great. All that's happening here is that he's being dropped. It may be for one week, or it may be for more. Whatever the case, I'm sure he still has enough time to work on the things he has to work on. There isn't something in the water here that makes our players unable to progress. It's just been poor coaching. Lucky for us though, we seem to have a good coach now.
  5. Can we stop wih the "so-and-so couldn't get a game with so-and-so." It's spurious reasoning at best, and is totally irrelevant. Jones is not as good as Moloney, and isn't as fast as Trengove. Someone had to go out, and replacing a forward (Jurrah or Bennell) with a midfielder just screams "I don't know who to drop, so I'll just fark with team balance instead!"
  6. He could hardly walk after the game, too. Played every game this year, but with our depth in the midfield, and with the pace of the Richmond mids, I'm not surprised to see him miss. I hate to say it, but in a way I'm glad it's him and not someone else. Out of our entire team, I'd say Jonesy is one of those with the least upside.
  7. I've been watching for about half an hour, and I don't think Aaron said a word. At least you can't accuse him of talking [censored], cause he never talks at all!
  8. Serves him right for buying one of them new-fangled, computer pants! I don't go in for those kind of contraptions, myself. I like short shorts.
  9. Good stuff, Dees. Or as Jonesy would Twit . . . Yeeeow!!!
  10. I don't know about everyone else, but every round is guernsey round for me.
  11. FD stands for Football Department. Basically the coach and everyone else who decides who plays each week.
  12. So we might as well give up then, huh?
  13. Although one of the things that Hird used to say was that Bruce would beat you defensively, but also hurt you going the other way. That comment might surprise you now, but let's not forget that in his day, Cameron Bruce was pretty good.
  14. It seems to me like this would be a perfect role for Lynden Dunn to play. He has experience as a tagger, and is a natural forward. He's quick, strong and in good form. He appears to be the most qualified.
  15. As much as I'd love it, I think their run home is a little easier than the Swans'.
  16. There's likely to be only three outs from that team compared to the one we may field on Sunday - Warnock, Petterd and Bate. That just shows that we're much more of a settled unit this year than in the past. I think we can win this one and keep our chances alive.
  17. I say "nay" to that. I'd go for the Knights as a sort of play on the Suns. That'd be pretty cool.
  18. Not actually surprising. Cameron Bruce has smashed Johnno a few times. James Hird also regularly mentions Brucie when asked who his toughest opponents were. He gets a bad rap sometimes, but there are a lot of good things that Cameron Bruce can do on the field.
  19. I thik we sort of have to hope the Hawks win, which is something I'm not feeling very good about doing. If we are to make the finals, you'd think it'd be at Sydney's expense, so the fewer games they win, the greater our chances of claiming their spot in the Eight become.
  20. That's arguable, but as I said before, I'm certainly exaggerating when I talk of how "easy" it would be to become a footy journo.
  21. Safe to say you weren't at the game?
  22. Of course I'm exaggerating a little, but the fact that there are so many past players in the footy media suggests that writing ability is not the number one criteria that is required when becoming a footy journo. Who your father is (i.e. Sam Lane and her father Tim) seems to have more importance than actually doing the hard yards at a lower level or in another field.
  23. That's actually a good point. Clubs that share the colours of the new club should be able to say that their own brand might be diluted by yet another team entering the competition with the same colours.
