  1. Little known fact: The MCG was built on top of an ancient Indian burial ground.
  2. Fair enough, but how do words get into your vocabulary? You hear them or you read them. But you've singled out one particular book that you just categorically won't learn new words from. Why?
  3. I understand it, even though I don't agree.
  4. Come on, don't be so childish. Recognise that the real importance of that $200 you spent is not the brick, but the support that it represents. Money is important to most people, recognition important to some, but support is important to all. Everyone needs to be supported, football clubs included. Why do you feel that you must be continually recognised for something you did in the name of charity? Donations are supposed to help those to whom the donation is given, not to provide those who gave the support the eternal right to demand some sort of recourse or payback. Just be happy that you supported something you love.
  5. That is hilarious, Biff! Oh, what I would give to beat the Hawks on Sunday. By far my most hated team (Carlton a distant second, of course).
  6. I'm with you, Dappa. I used to sit in the cheersquad every week, but I found that I spent half my time looking at the screen rather than the ground, so I hightailed it up to the top tier wing and have never looked back.
  7. I have us playing Geelong in the GF after a tremendous run that includes wins over Sydney, Brisbane, Richmond, Hawthorn, Port Adelaide, North Melbourne, Carlton, St Kilda and Collingwood and until it doesn't happen, for all intents and purposes, it could. The fact is that if we win every game from here until the end of the season, we will win the Premiership. Let's focus on Hawthorn first though, because that is our aim.
  8. The thing about Guerra is that he's one of the keys to their "unsociable football" engine, and I think that is one of the major reasons why we've been smashed by Hawthorn in the past. So while he's not as important as, say, Lance Franklin, in some ways he is still essential to the way they play.
  9. LOL . . . EXP. Maybe he'll level-up. Hell, if he plays well enough, he might even evolve.
  10. Honestly, it's not that hard. As soon as a behind is kicked, the nearest player runs his arse off to get the ball, promptly turns around and kicks it to one of the seven Melbourne jumpers leading as fast as they can. Speed of ball movement is a defender's worst nightmare, and the longer the kicker-in spends with the ball in his hands, the more time the opposition has to set up its' structures. If I was coach, that's how I'd run it.
  11. What's that? One from five? If you make enough predictions, you're bound to get one right. Well done, though.
  12. Well, there you go. You heard it, folks. Right from the horse's girlfriend's mother's friend's husband's mouth. End of story.
  13. BTW, what's the deal with Jones not even mentioning he was dropped on his Twitter account. You'd think he might say something about it, but he hasn't. Makes me think he'll be a late inclusion.
  14. Why? We can't be hanging onto every good player on the off-chance that they become great. All that's happening here is that he's being dropped. It may be for one week, or it may be for more. Whatever the case, I'm sure he still has enough time to work on the things he has to work on. There isn't something in the water here that makes our players unable to progress. It's just been poor coaching. Lucky for us though, we seem to have a good coach now.
  15. Can we stop wih the "so-and-so couldn't get a game with so-and-so." It's spurious reasoning at best, and is totally irrelevant. Jones is not as good as Moloney, and isn't as fast as Trengove. Someone had to go out, and replacing a forward (Jurrah or Bennell) with a midfielder just screams "I don't know who to drop, so I'll just fark with team balance instead!"
  16. He could hardly walk after the game, too. Played every game this year, but with our depth in the midfield, and with the pace of the Richmond mids, I'm not surprised to see him miss. I hate to say it, but in a way I'm glad it's him and not someone else. Out of our entire team, I'd say Jonesy is one of those with the least upside.
  17. I've been watching for about half an hour, and I don't think Aaron said a word. At least you can't accuse him of talking [censored], cause he never talks at all!
  18. Serves him right for buying one of them new-fangled, computer pants! I don't go in for those kind of contraptions, myself. I like short shorts.
  19. Good stuff, Dees. Or as Jonesy would Twit . . . Yeeeow!!!
  20. I don't know about everyone else, but every round is guernsey round for me.
  21. FD stands for Football Department. Basically the coach and everyone else who decides who plays each week.
  22. So we might as well give up then, huh?
