  1. Putting bias aside, Hill deserves goal of the week. Awesome goal considering the timing of the game (to put them level Vs Geelong) and the degree of difficulty. Very excited by Jurrahcane's debut though!
  2. A bit off topic but a comparison between Clarkson and Bailey in their first 2 years shows that Clarkson is way on top. Clarkson won 15 games in his first 2 years. Bailey has recorded 4 so far.
  3. What are you views on Cheney at the moment. Seems to be one of the least talked about from the under 20 group. Has he impressed you so far? Is he part of our future? From what I've seen so far his contested marking is fantastic for his size and has a pretty good defensive side about him. Just seems to lack a bit of polish for AFL level at the moment.
  4. A player that could go either way for next year. Deserves to play throughout the last 7 or 8 games to play for his career. I agree with Doggo. Could easily see a contending club punting on him late in the ND or in the PSD.
  5. How did Grimes play last night guys? Saw him kick a lovely goal in the first qtr but also saw him fumble in defence a couple of times in the highlights package. Great to read in the HUN that he's recognised in their mid-season report as a top 10 'under the rader' player.
  6. You also can't touch the senior coach either. We're 4-30 since rd 1 2008 and they'll tell you that things are going rosy under Bailey. The club is all talk at the moment. I think the MFC website should ban player interviews during the week outlining how they're going to make amends and are sick of honourable losses - it's all fluff.
  7. Last November I was thinking that Rich was the safe bet, as you can't beat a class midfielder. Watts and Naita came with a risk I thought. At the moment Rich looks the pick of the draft and good luck to Brisbane. Very early days though, and I haven't seen Watts's game last night. Morton seems more of a concern at the moment.
  8. Just watched the Bailey press conference on line. He looks like a man who's out of ideas. These last 2 games have clearly effected Bailey and his demeanour is really starting to resemble what you'd expect from a coach with a 4-30 record overall. He got a bit upset with one journo who asked him whether or not he singled out the leadership group for last nights debacle. Bailey replied "all players share the responsibility". He thought our tackling was more or less half assed. He was also very upset we gave away the early free kick goals. ----------------- Has our list gotten to the point where it's uncoachable and unwinnable?
  9. It's why Melbourne supporters have the reputation as the weakest in AFL. A capacity crowd in a close game at the Dome is just as thrilling as footy at the G'.
  10. Let's get that power point presentation up and running again
  11. Last time we hosted them was the 'Broadbridge' tribute game in round 1 2005.
  12. 42,198 customers in total. 5,897 dee fans (considering their bizzare hatred of Etihad Stadium)
  13. More excited about Jurrah's debut than Watts. Hopefully we see Watts and Jurrah play togethor with Miller back in at CHF.
  14. Anyone like the idea of trading our second or third round draft pick for a ready made forward, ie - McKinley from West Coast? We desperatly need wins next year and we need someome capable of kicking 50+ goals in a season.
  15. I reckon he won't make the trip to Brisbane in 2 weeks.
  16. He's 100% right, and the stats don't lie. We've been a utter disgrace since round 1 2008. I think a bit of negative press (on field not off) couldn't hurt the team. I think the media we're overly complimentary to us after the Geelong, Bulldogs and Hawthorn losses.
  17. If that's the case, then he's one lucky boy!
  18. Totally agree. Time to be brutal at list management time. Time to stop having NQR (as the great Rhino Richards calls them) injury prone players that clog the list. If it happens to be Buckley, then so be it!
  19. I'm getting a bt annoyed with these midfielders/wingers like Bail, Morton and Buckley (rd 1 V North) playing defence. Is it so critical in their development?
  20. It's got to the point where I'd be more than happy for the Gold Coast to take him, if it means your Mortons and Sylvia's remain Dees. Bailey's tried him up front as a defensive fwd I suspect, but it hasn't worked. Like to see him at half back where he made that spectacular debut.
  21. Is it just me or are we having our best injury run since 2006? Garland and Wona are the only 2 that are missing from our best 22 while Buckley is borderline. I'd expect half our 22 to be missing by round 18 - list management Hopefully we have this luck when we are contenders.
  22. I'm going to eat humble pie on this one. I was gutted when the trade was announced. After watching Trav's last 2 games, now I couldn't be happier
  23. Any idea what Sylvia's contract status is at the moment? I'd be signing him till the end of 2011, so GC don't get their grubby hands on him!
  24. If I had a dollar for every time someone says we'll win, I'd be stinking rich. No chance V's Essendon. Their pace will be too much for us. But the game should be a lot closer than last week!
  25. I firmly believe West Coast will win just 1 more game for the rest of the year - probably against Richmond in round 22. How can they overlook the opportunity of getting two top 5 picks. And Melbourne will not win 5 games. Surely Bailey and the football department will realise that winning a 5th game would be counter-productive to the future - ie missing out on Scully & Butcher. Plus we're not good enough.
