  1. Yeah good point. I should've left out the word 'aiming'. But I believe their planning for a short incline next year, and then all guns a blazing in 2011 But where we've come from, a 9th-12th finish in 2011 would be satisfactory, particularly when draft picks won't be gifted next year.
  2. Can they wait till 2011? That's when I'll be back in Oz On a serious note, I think the club will be aiming/planning for a 9th-12 finish in 2010, and then have a tilt at finals in 2011 or 2012. We have too much development ahead to be looking at finals short term.
  3. If we were to somehow land picks 1 and 2 (which seem to be diminishing by the day), I think a more likely scenario would be to trade our pick 2 in order to get that 'A GRADER'.
  4. Ben McKinlay from West Coast?? Victorian boy who was shattered to be drafted interstate.
  5. Yeah that's how I saw him after watching the replays of all games. Just didn't look like a player in games 2 and 3. Game 1 was good but not amazing.
  6. Who Yeah, Cheney and Maric stiff too. I must admit I wrote off Kyle Cheney after his sub standard efforts in rounds 2 and 3, but he looked good V Dogs.
  7. Crap idea. Nothing more needs to be said.
  8. The GC can have Petterd if it means they'll keep their hands off Sir Cale.
  9. No. Must have played < 10 games at start of year. I opened this thread thinking we won  It's got to the point where the boys deserve a win. But at least our picks 1 and 2 dream are still alive.
  10. He's called 8 quarters of Melbourne on Fox Sports and still calls Warnock 'Warnick'. The guy is as dumb as the stuff dogs produce.
  11. People that choose not to go are not real Melborne supporters.
  12. Nearly spit my cornflakes out when I saw Bennell was replaced by Cheney. But understand the reason. Going to have my eye on Cheney this week after 1 encouraging game and 2 very poor performances.
  13. I know Jamar hasn't set the world on fire, but that's a tad insulting to him.
  14. Round 14 MCG -West Coast Round 20 MCG - Fremantle That's all. There is no way the club will allow > 4
  15. Agree. Out of all the kids, he excites me the least. Perhaps a delist-rookie scenario may be the go here.
  16. Edited for accuracy <_< If Green's a test this week, then he could be right for Hawthorn next week. Great news, considering he was diagnosed for up to 8 weeks.
  17. Nar Rich easily had him covered in round 1. Plus Cheney's games in rounds 2 and 3 were terrible. Out of all the kids he excites me the least.
  18. At least they're not taking away one of our Saturday home games. Then I'd really be [censored]! I don't agree with the transfer, but MFC supporter are just as bad as the AFL if they refuse to go to the game.
  19. Get with the times guys. It's not the 1930's. The jumper aint gonna be the difference between a win and a loss. Every other pro sport in the world has alternative strips. The one thing I do agree with is that Collingwood should be forced to wear a clash strip in away games.
  20. The biggest crowd at the G in recent years b/w both clubs was about 32,000 in rd 21 2005 on a Saturday night - when both clubs were fighting for a finals spot. They won't exceed that. I doubt they'd exceed the round 1 crowd V North either. 27,234 - but enough to avoid the chequebook!!
  21. Did you attend the round 16 twilight game against North in 2007 at the Dome? We had the cheersquad and a smuttering of MFC supporters here and there. It was 1,500 MFC fans at the most.
  22. Supporters that refused to go Princes Park in the past and to Docklands in the present are weak. Makes me sick in the guts when I go to a game at Etihad and we have like 950 Melbourne supporters V's 20,000 Dogs or North fans. It also mad me sick in the guts when Melbourne pulled 9,000 to a game V's West Coast in 2002 at Princes Park to what was then a certain win. People were more concerned with sticking it up the AFL and the Carlton FC rather than watch their beloved Dees. What are people's reasons for not going to these games?
  23. Good point Who actually cares. Everytime I get worked up about injuries and team selections, it just makes us 1 game closer to Scully and Butcher.
  24. I watch our games every week mate. I'm not saying White would be our best ruckman (having said that, he'd be 150% better than PJ and Spencer), but look at the situation we're in. We don't have any ruck depth. We're fielding one NQR ruckman this weekend and that's it. Bad luck or poor list management?
  25. Is Jeff White available this weekend? Oh that's right we all wanted him out of the side even though we all knew we had the worst ruck division in the AFL
