  1. Ok, so the new boss has some ideas - I don't hate them (I don't love them), but at least they are floating them rather than telling them and I do like the fact that some of the ideas are not self-serving (or powerful clubs serving) flap. http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/draw-fix-may-be-chiefs-legacy-20150514-gh22dz.html http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/afl-clubs-lukewarm-on-fixture-change-20150514-gh1tv3.html But there is some horrendous stuff in there - teams 7-12 playoff for 2 spots in the finals after round 17? Seems a tad arbitrary and takes away from the month of September. Essentially, you could be 7th and win your last 5 games and be rewarded with...7th and an away final as the 6th team gets pummelled and finishes with 4 fewer wins but a home final... That is a terrible idea... Of course, Caro carries the can for AFL House... If these ideas came from Eddie she would tear them apart, but thou shalt not burn bridges at AFL House!
  2. Oh, boy, this is going to be a monster - I have put together a list of things that I would install as AFL chief that would make the game a more even, balanced, and enjoyable spectacle and I haven't changed one on field rule - who knew you could make change off field that affects the onfield... Instead of making it all TL:DR (Too Long; Didn't Read for Old Dee) I have cut them up into some sub headings so it will be easier for people to quote and massage and ridicule and explore what they wish:
  3. After doing the first half the year (link below) and having only 3 posters get it right, I thought we should do it again. http://demonland.com/forums/index.php?/topic/29451-the-first-half-draw/page__p__528006__hl__wins#entry528006
  4. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/afl/expert-opinion/forget-the-blockbusters-afl-just-fix-the-fixture/story-fncqi979-1226344945306 I've not heard of this concept or Jason Feldman before, but I think this is a really really good idea. I'd be very pleased if this was implemented and hope it gets a lot of support.
  5. There was some dicscussion on this in the match thread, it's time to do this. We we will be at the half way point of the season? Brisbane at the G WCE in Perth Tigers at the G Bulldogs at the G Saints at the G Geelong in Mordor Hawthorn at the G Sydney in Sydney Carlton at the G Essendon at the G Collingwood at the G Who will we beat? And how many will delete their vote and change their prediction in the next few weeks?
