  1. I wonder what we are doing training/ loading wise leading up to this game given we don’t really have a bye but one game sandwiched by two ten day breaks. Would love us to be cherry ripe for the Pies game but we may be looking at priming ourselves for run home and finals.
  2. I’m really hoping we can win the next quarter and then have the game won heading into the last where we can hopefully play a few players into form.
  3. Having Kosi at 171cm and Spargo at 173cm, Chin at 174cm might prove that smaller players can make it. But I think it shows we are already well stocked for small forwards. Think we need to use our top pick in another position.
  4. I’m on ferry and will soon be out of signal. Any chance of a decision soon???
  5. Haven’t been posting on this one as I’m trying my best not to get to sucked in to [censored] poor decisions by AFL. Came to the conclusion a little while ago that the AFL is more than happy with the extra attention that a controversial decision like this brings. Who needs Thursday night footy when you can have everybody talking about the footy by making poor decisions. Can’t tell me with the amount of money at the AFLs disposal that they couldn’t make the game easier to umpire and also improve the standard of umpires
  6. I’m back on the death riding train this week. Confident swans can crush any confidence they got from the hawks game. Hickey back will help them as will the fact it’s in Sydney. Swans need to win to have any chance of making finals so will be well up for it. After the Swans. Freo play the Cats in Perth and then us at the MCG. I expect them to lose all three. They have the bye before two massive games for us death riders. Richmond and then GWS. Hopefully Richmond have a few plays back from injury by then.
  7. I think the ferry comment might be if they stayed at Blundstone Luci. Big part of the reasoning for the new stadium is that it will be in a better more central location. As it’s on the river there could be ferry access but it’s very central and could be walked to from city centre.
  8. I think people here might be looking at at the effect the Tassie team might have on the talent pool and our list are looking at it wrong. With JT and Lamb heading our recruitment we should be looking at how we can use this to our advantage. The new club will have a bounty of picks they are will to part with. Over the past lot of years our recruitment team has come out in top of a vast majority of trades we have been involved with. On top of that we enter the this years draft with the strongest hand we have had in years. Yes it will be a tricky time to manage our list going forward but with JT and Lamb making the calls I think we are better placed than anybody else to manage it very well.
  9. Hi Jaded, I’m Irish, lived in Melbourne for 10 years and have lived south of Hobart. so not Tasmanian at all 😂. Melbourne will remain my number one team I pretty sure but I will also go to the new teams games and hope they are a great success. I do feel that the majority of people here that support a team on the mainland will have no problem just following the new Tassie team. By and large I don’t feel most people here are die hard fans of their chosen AFL team and will be keen to get behind a new completely Tassie team.
  10. After really wanting us to pick Hayden Young in 19 draft I have tried not to get too keen on a player before the draft. After all JT knows 1000 times more than I could ever hope to so I’m happy with whoever he picks. Having said that I’m throwing it out the window this year and jumping on the Duursma train real early. Thought he had an almost game the other day but looks very silky, moves well, good size already, athletic, looks like he likes a tackle. Plays the outside role that we don’t really have at the club. Only 17 so heaps of upside. Looks like he is going to be the player I thought Cerra was going to be at Carlton. He’s already been training with the club and now getting a run at Casey.
  11. Petty will come in for Shack who’s injured and didn’t have a great game anyways. Petty will stay forward- we need to be pretty mobile against the Suns and Petty covers a lot of ground. Also he brings the ball to ground and when we have Kossie and Chandler crumbing that’s all he needs to do. I wonder if we might see a change in defence with McVee looking a bit off it last week and Pig carrying an injury. Disco or Howes might get a run. JJ to stay in the team- he deserves a run of games. Melkshake probably deserves to be sub but the Suns midfield is their strong point so I think Harmes will be the sub to give us more energy in the middle should we need it. He may also get a shutdown role.
  12. Riley Beveridge had the same top 4 on his show over the weekend.
  13. After watching a lot of games this weekend it’s hard to see anything other than WC, Hawks and North being the bottom 3 clubs. So I think our pick will be somewhere between 4-7. I expect Richmond to improve and move up the ladder a bit when they get a few of their key players back, so the Suns and GWS picking up wins this weekend is great for our chances of being closer to 4 than 7. If Freo do finish in the bottom 6 we will enter this years trade and draft period in a much stronger position than the 2019 draft when we picked up Jackson, Kossie and Rivers and will hopefully have just win the flag.
  14. Hawks have a surprise win or two in them. Lost to GWS and Crows by 2&3 points. Should have been well ahead of dogs by half time but faded after that. If Freo make as many simple skill errors as they did against Brisbane and Hawks kick a bit better they are a sneaky chance.
  15. Brilliant news, I happier now than I have been after our last couple of wins. Have to admit when he didn’t sign before the start of the season I was concerned. He’s just such a joy to watch. I think those on here that put his below par form leading into this weekend might have been on the money thinking it was contract related. His performance and body language on Saturday certainly looked more like the Kossie we know and love. Such a great time to be a Dees supporter.
  16. Bugger it. Thought short break would have cost the pies in the last. Crows should have been out of sight before then. Adelaide were poor in the last. Pies deserve to be top but they are beatable
  17. I’m enjoying it. Lots of turnovers and skill errors but it’s a fast close contested game. Pies off a short break. Let’s see if the Burgess effect gets Crows home in the last.
  18. God I’m loving this death riding. Freo, GWS and Suns games all going our way this weekend. Gives me a genuine interest in an extra 3/4 games a week.
  19. Flip side of that is it gives them a bit of confidence before our game. Also no way we take them lightly now considering Richmond gave us a good game last week.
  20. Suns winning is a great result for us death riders. Confident that Richmond are a better team than Freo and we really want Freo to finish below the Suns. 👏
  21. Jeez if the crows were kicking for goal as good as we have been this game would be about done in the first quarter.
  22. Anybody know the clubs connection to Zane Duursma ? Trained with us during the summer and now playing for Casey. I’ll be keeping a close eye on him to see how he goes today.
  23. 4 points, few players to find a bit of form and no injuries please.
  24. Yesss. GWS got up with a goal in the last minute. Top 5 pick is a big chance for us.
  25. Agree that a top 5 and 10 is very achievable depending what we do during the trade period prior. If our F/S pick expected to go mid twenties it would make sense to trade up with our two second round picks.
