  1. I fancied Carlton tonight and thought they would do well this season. Not so sure after that performance. Not so much the performance more so how they closed out the last 8/9 mins. After losing so many close games last year in the closing minutes I thought Voss would have had them super well drilled and organised how to see out a game like that. Looks like they haven’t learnt their lessons from last season.
  2. At home with some venison kranskys and beers. I have a nice drop of Japanese single malt that I may have afterwards should we win. I am considering starting to have a pre game joint. Just to see if it will calm me down a bit. Poor dogs take themselves out the back as soon as the game starts. They are never sure if I’m shouting at them or the TV.
  3. I should have known better than to try and correct you Luci. You would think the vote must have come from St Kilda or Richmond so. The young man is clearly making an impression.
  4. I know they can’t vote for their team but think they are allowed to vote for teammates. I remember Max voted for Fritch for Coleman a couple of years ago.
  5. Big Maxxy must have tipped Judd Mcvee for the rising star. We clearly have big hopes for him. Excited to see if he starts round one.
  6. I’d imagine it would be difficult to play a season for a club when you have pledged your future to another club. Never really happens does it. If he did that lots of fans would be calling for him to play at Casey and give minutes to players who are sticking around.
  7. I don’t really think this is going to be about money. I trust our list management to have left enough in the budget to satisfy Kossie. The talk of him leaving came up early in last years trade period before we signed Hunter and Grundy. I’m not sure we sign the former if we don’t think we would have enough left in the kitty for Kozzie. Also Kozzie would probably double his current salary this year if he signed now. While the above article from SEN tells us nothing we don’t already know it is right about one thing and that’s the longer he doesn’t sign the more of a media circus there will be. Kossie strikes me a a person that would rather not have all that attention which leaves me very fearful that he may not be hear after this season. Hope I'm wrong.
  8. I wonder if one of the two shiny oiled machines might find themselves the sub when the season starts?! Hard to fit in 3 talls with Max and Grundy. Both can play back( though not sure JVR has trained there in preseason). Barring an injury give BBB two and half quarters and then bring on fresh legs while managing Ben. Be good for JVR chances of making an impact if he's fresher than he's opponents.
  9. Massive thank you to all our track side reporters for all your work throughout the preseason. love reading them all each week. Disco Turner seems to be one that has flown under the radar a bit. I was hoping he would kick on this year and get a run of games. Any of our track watches have an insights on him?
  10. He may have slotted into the backline but he’s hardly playing the same role. Locking down the best small forwards in the game.
  11. Yeah I agree with you AF locking down the best small forwards might be our Achilles heel this year. Hibberd did a lot better last year than I thought he would given his injury troubles early in the season. Cameron did get the better of him in the finals but overall he was superb. But he’s a year older now and has dodgy calves. Hunt sometimes played the role but he’s gone. Really we still haven’t replaced Jetta. We will need someone to step up this year to fill this role.
  12. Not concerned about having 3 tough games(Freo, Carlton, Pies) leading up to the bye and another tough one(Cats) after? Or do you feel we would have our loading period prior to that? I notice we have another very short break during the Bye. (10 days)
  13. Another simple one. Now that we know we will have 2 firsts and 2 seconds going into next years trade/ draft period does it give him more enthusiasm for that draft and how does he rate it at this early stage?
  14. Maybe we are looking to put Petty forward?!
  15. My two big hopes for next season is another flag and for Kossie to sign a new contract.
  16. Cal mentioned that GWS pick 15 is gettable and that we would be keen if we can’t get a deal done with the bombers. I think I would prefer that. Gives us a staring hand this year and next. Wonder how confident the club is on Kossie staying beyond next season. If they think he’s off I wonder will that play a part in who we select. Might make Brayden George more appealing.
  17. He also said that Sydney would be open to trading out both their first round picks for future first.
  18. When you’re looking to trade in or up the draft you always pay overs so future first and 37 seems about right. We are only using one pick this year anyways. The fact that we are willing to trade out a future pick for 19 says to me that we do rate this draft as we clearly think there will be a quality player or players still available at that pick. JT often sees things a bit different to other recruiters and pundits and if he thinks there will be a good player for us at 19 then I’ll be stoked if we make the move and get someone in a year early as we have in previous years.
  19. Poster in another thread that Jefferson has put on 6kg and is now at 84kg. If he continues to put on muscle at that rate then he may have an impact in the first team before 2025.
  20. @IvanBartul13 HS phantom is the second phantom that has Sydney taking your man Josh Weddle the pick after ours. You think we are a chance to pick him up in front of them?
  21. @Debbiedowner36 really hope he signs before start of next season. We should know what we can afford to offer him now that the trade period is over.
  22. Yeah maybe. Or future 2nd for GWS pick 31 and then 31&37 for 22.
  23. Given where Cal has Alwyn Davey Jnr at 17. Essendon's pick 22 could be available.
