Brand Petracca actions over the past few weeks have ensured not matter what the outcome he will be the biggest AFL story between now and next season. He’s definitely hurt his Melbourne legacy but only time will tell if it’s hurt his brand. If this time next year he has massive increased his following on socials will it be a net win for his brand?

Chad Warner is out of contract next year and all the talk is he wants to go home and play with Freo. His trade value would probably be greater than Tracs. He probably wouldn’t get the same coin as Trac but it would be close. Freo have the picks to get it done this year and Swans also have two late first rounders. I’m sure there would be opportunities to build his brand in Sydney even if it’s not the footy bubble that Melbourne is.

I wouldnt be surprised if this is the next lot of leaks to come out of the Trac camp. At the minute all the stuff coming out about him wanting bigger crowds to help promote his brand is really bad for his brand and he looks like a [censored] so I expect the narrative to change over the coming days. I think he clearly doesn’t think he’s a good chance to win another flag with us and wants to more where he thinks he’s a greater chance at one and where he can build his brand more than he can with us.

Club may be leaking but I’m not sure it’s an offical move. More just people that were in attendance at the function on Saturday night. Season is over now and players that are unhappy with Trac might be more willing to confirm the story with the likes of Lloyd and the stuff coming out of the exit interview could easily be Trac as he tries to force through the move.

The reason leaked by Tracs team is that he wants out for a number of reasons- mainly to play for bigger club and builds his brand. But this is well past just Morris and McLure. The age have said the verified it with 3 sources. Lloyd said he has spoken to current players about it. We have numerous posters with runs on the board saying they have heard it from good sources. This is a bit of smoke anymore it’s a proper fire. If you want to bury your head in the sand go for it. Gary Lyon said a few weeks ago that until he heard it from Christians mouth he wouldn’t believe it, your entitled to take the same position.

I actually think the club is playing this well. Saying there’s no chance he will be traded. I’m wondering if Trac is backing himself into a corner and may have to go to the highest bidder just to get out as he’s burnt his bridges. Im ok with holding him to his contract and will hope he can get back to his best form. But I don’t want him doing any media work for the club and I’d hope the club puts the squeeze on how many other media commitments he can do. I’m ok if he ends up staying but we should do zero to help him build his brand in the future.

He will have been getting well advised by Connors and his brother for weeks. They must think they can get a deal done.

All the talk is that this draft is super deep with some handy types expected to be picked late in the second and early third round. The very top players in this draft don’t seem to be rated as highly as those in the past few years.

Have you seen much of him @spirit of norm smith? I remember his lack of pace/athleticism was what was keeping him out of the top 10 predictions before he put some good form together. Same could be said of Reid. Thoughts?!

I know we need an A grade midfielder but what’s peoples thoughts on splitting pick 5? Given the evenness and depth of this draft if we could get a top 10 and a later first round pick it might be worth it. Give JT two picks to work with. Also I wonder if the combine might change the order a bit more this year than others. Could be a few bolters

I wouldn’t rule out the Pies if that’s If where he wants to go. Which would make me sick. Trade De Goey to one of the above clubs or Essendon and use future first and other picks to trade in Brisbanes first. May also have to trade a fringe player. Not saying it will happen but if he requested a trade to them it’s possible.

My point is I’ve no problem with him putting himself and family first but while he is contracted to our club and being paid a huge sum of money to do so, he should be doing his best to improve the club or at least show loyalty to the club and fans. #makemelbournegreatagain The circus that he has created over the past few weeks could be put to bed by a decent statement from him or his management. He signed the contracted, took the money, that comes with responsibilities and expectations. Agree Houston isn’t worth 2 first round picks or even pick 6.

All power to him, but the MFC is paying him over a million bucks a year and what are we getting in return at the minute? He can’t even put a statement out to take speculation off the club and if the Houston story is to be believed he’s hurting our chances of recruiting other players.

I think for Richardson to say this he must be confident that they can get some deals done with mature player they are currently in discussions with.

Ok soft was probably the wrong choice of wording. The man will play on one leg. Let’s say non aggressive and doesn’t have much mongrel about him which my initial post was about.

Yes, I love Max as player and as a captain. But he has very little mongrel in him. I can’t remember ever seeing him getting physical to stand up for one of our players. Not his style I guess and why should he when none of our players do it for him when the opposition target him all game both on and off the ball.
