I think this makes real sense for us. Wonāt play most weeks but worthy of decent contract as cover for Max and maybe ruck coach afterwards. We might have to guarantee him a certain number of games but given Maxxys age that shouldnāt be too much of a problem. Great number 2 while we bring Verrall along. Him learning from Max, Goldy and Grundy can only be a good thing. Also allows us to cash in on Grundy and spend the profits elsewhere.

Coates Talent League 2023
Any of our draft watchers seen much of Will Dawson? I only saw him play to games in defence for Vic country and was impressed. Tall, big body can intercept. Iām just wondering if we donāt manage to get OāSullivan who else we could target as a KPD. The 15-40 range seems very hard to predict this year. You would have to be confident that JT could find a gem in that range. Iām hoping we hold onto our early second round pick.

Given heās probably getting his info from the people making the decision Iād be surprised if heās wrong.

The 2023 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
Itās a ridiculous amount to be given them. They can now get Harley Reid and still manage to have 2 top 10 picks this year if they trade well. Picks 2 & 14 for pick 1. Still leaves them with pick 3, 11 and two future firsts. Crazy. Can you imagine they could pick up Reid, Duursma and OāSullivan from this draft. With your point about trading out of this years draft and into next years- they( gettable)did have a quick run down of the top draft prospects for next year. 90% were midfielders. Iāve been very keen on us trading out our future first and getting pick 4. But given the capital other have to throw at that pick will push the cost up and given how compromised the pointing end of this draft has become we might be better to hold onto our future first.

Cal all but confirmed on Gettable that North will get pick 3 as compo, pick 11 and future end of first pick as a hand out. Wonāt get access to Sanders

2023 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
North are really going to shape this draft eh. If the above does happen they would be in the box seat for the Suns pick 4. Package up 10&14. Giving them 2,3&4 Alternatively they could split 3 with us and still get Sanders. You would think they would be keen to bring in some established player rather than 3/4 first round picks.

Farewell Brodie Grundy
With regards to a trade with Sydney. A future second and pick 41 is prob about right and would probably give us the upper hand in getting pick 4 from the Suns.

Farewell Brodie Grundy
Iām thinking along the same lines. Perhaps there was a fallout when he met Port publicly in the run up to finals. Perhaps him have so many close friends at Collingwood left him a bit in the outer both pre and post Pies game.

Farewell James Jordon
All the best JJ. Agree with others that it was a shame he didnāt get a run in 2021 GF. Probably a wise move for him to try and get more regular game time elsewhere. Hopefully a few clubs being in for him will push up the value of his contract and be beneficial to both him and the club.

Not to mention they already received two early second rounders from this draft last year.

The 2023 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
Iām aware of the above SD. Perhaps I should have maybe worded it differently. The point I was making is that with North possible getting pick 3 and possible 3 academy players before OāSullivan. Our pick is pretty close to where heās rated. The poster I was replying to wondered if we may have been taking him too early.
-
The 2023 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
O'Sullivan is rated number 10 in most draft orders that I have seen. Heās also the second best KPD prospect in the draft. Assume Walters, Reid and Sanders go to 10 to their academy clubs that bring OāSullivan into 7 so not much of a reach for us. GWS and Cats could pounce if we let him slip past our pick.

The 2023 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
Only way I can see is getting pick 11 as part of the Grundy deal is if itās a swap with pick 13. Pick 30 & 11 for Grundy and 13. Would be about right too. But pick 22 is a fair trade as well.

NON-MFC: Finals Week 02
Giants should be out of sight. They will still get up but making it harder than it should be. Hopefully they ice it quickly at the start of this quarter and are fresh to face the filth.

Thank you Demonland
Great thread @layzie Demonland is an amazing resource and platform to engage with some great people and learn so much about the club and the game in general. Iām addicted.

POSTGAME: SF vs Carlton
People blaming player selection and tactics are off their heads. I will admit that Iām also guilty of the same thing at times But we did more than enough to win in all aspects of the game tonight apart from goal kicking. We were on top and should have kicked enough goals to win by 4/5 goals. 3 posters in the last q. Bad kicking is bad footy they say. Such a shame to have lost the opportunity of another flag This team has under achieved ā¹ļø

Cheers for that. If we donāt trade up with our second pick he might appeal to us. I assume youād have Darcy Wilson ahead of him but heās unlikely to be on the board unless we trade up.

I hope club waits till after the game and then puts out a statement and that Goody and all of the players and staff just say no comment when asked about the decision.

Why would they appeal they already got the result they wanted. Collingwood players doesnāt get rubbed out and helps them match towards a GF and for extra cherry on top the findings hold Gus partly reasonable in case thereās any legal action taken down the track. Couldnāt make this [censored] up.

This is where Iām at too. Line in the sand moment for me. Foxtel can go, same with AFL app. I have started to really enjoy the under age stuff leading up to the draft so might explore if I can watch more of that without Foxtel, local footy might be an option too. Or else something non footy related to fill the void. Hard to see me not watching Melbourne games but not getting as emotionally invested in organisation that that has zero care about its integrity, player welfare or fans. All about the money baby.

Cal September rankings are out. Cal Twomey's Phantom Form Guide: Top draft prospects' September ranking @dazzledavey36 I see Caleb Windsor is a bit of a bolter( up to 14) now. A classy mid apparently. Have you seen much of him?

Too angry so got F all sleep last night. Now Iām tired and still angry. Still canāt get over the fact they put some of the blame on Brayshaw. I assume this is just to cover their [censored] in any future legal case. Just like if two cars crash into each other. The insurance company representing the guilty party will try to put some blame and therefore liability on the other party. Can be the only explanation I can think of for them say Gus could of āexecuted the kick differently, or landed in a different spot or mannerā

If the AFL appeal can Collingwood appeal that decision if it goes against them?

Maynard must get at least four weeks
ZERO respect for the AFL now. They were losing all credibility before this but this is last straw for me. No integrity whatsoever. Players welfare, integrity of the comp matters zero to them. As long as the media and cash machine keeps chugging along. Go and get stuffed

If you canāt see the person 5meters in front of you thatās kicking the ball you are trying to smother them he needs a see and eye dog.
