  1. I’m sure Hawks would have offered a bit more money but I’m sure we could of offered him a decent contract while we were right in the middle of our prem window and the Hawks were bottom dwellers. I don’t think TPP is a good excuse for our poor trading post flag.

I would have liked to get him but I don’t think we should pay overs to get him over the line. Both in terms of cash and length of contract. Bit of a red flag for me that his best bit of form comes just as he’s out of contract and trying to get the best deal possible.
  3. They would also split 25 for a lot more than 756 points and given the depth of this draft they may be able to split 38.
  4. Your maths makes the deal a bit more likely in terms of what the Lions will agree too but I think they will want a future pick included in any deal.
  5. Hmmmm I guess we won’t be having a big crack at this draft so. Kentfield has already replaced Gus in terms of list spots I think so it’s down to 5. You’d think we fill take on two rookies, that leaves 3 list spots to be filled and 4 if they delist Hore. Cant believe we have Hunter for another year. Can we just payout his contract and get him off the list?
  6. As important as it is to get pick 5 right I really think that with the amount of players we will turnover this year and next we really need to find some gems either late in this draft, rookies or SSP. We need to find a Chad Warner, McVee or Olly Dempsey somewhere. Hard to do but given the depth of this draft, our NGA and F/S option and with JT at the wheel I can’t wait to see how this draft unfolds. I just hope we have enough list spots to allow JT to have a proper crack.
  7. Article doesn’t say if he will remain on the rookie list or not. Given we seem to be getting tight for rookie spots I assume he’s back in the main list. Anybody know for sure?
  8. Good to see Riak Andrew listed among the best. #5 Riak Andrew Tall Defender | 192cm | 17/02/2005 Stats: 9 disposals, 5 tackles, 3 hitouts Andrew played yet another effective shutdown role down back, restricting Harry Armstrong to eight disposals and a goal. The over-ager was beaten at times when taken up the ground but gave Armstrong nothing inside defensive 50, being aided by ample aerial support and competing hard. Among his best moments was a loose ball win against Archie Ludowyke on the last line, and his holding-the-ball tackle in term four. As per usual, he could hardly be faulted for effort.
  9. Chad Warner hasn’t resigned with them. Out of contract next year and lots of talk he wanted to go back to WA with Freo the front runners. They have the trade capital, as do West Coast. If he move they would have the cap. Lots of brand marketing options in Sydney.
  10. I know all the talk is a big Vic club but Sydney are still a watch for me.
  11. I have been wondering if this might be the case.I didn’t think his statement was as convincing as Dan Houston and he’s back on the trade table. Probably a smart play- has stopped the rumour machine and might be waiting to see if another club can get a deal or two done to get the draft capital.
  12. Assume @dazzledavey36 would have a bit of knowledge about them both.
  13. Happy with this. Do we know if he stays on as a rookie or back on the main list?
  14. Colm replied to SthSea22's topic in Melbourne Demons
Anybody know what sort of money he would be on? Only played 13 games this season and that’s probably what to expect he will play again next year. When fit he would definitely offer us something. Id be willing to part with whatever we get for Nibbler but nothing more.
  15. Hmmm with injury concerns over 3 of the top 10 FOS,Trainor and Lalor along with Hotton who was tipped as a top 10 before his ACL I’m more and more inclined to think we should should split pick 5 if we can find a suitable trade. Don’t think we would have been interested in Trainor but was hoping North would pick him and leave another mid on the board for us. Seems it might be a bit of a reach now with some concussion stuff.
  16. If we can somehow manage to get a second first rounder this year I hope we pick him up. Didn’t watch a lot of the champs live but caught the Vic country v Vic Metro game that he starred in. Moves well and is a great kick. With Rivers going to play in the guts a bit more I could see Lindsay slotting into half back for his first couple of years. Out injured now and may not play again so may not be a bolter. I did read somewhere ( think it was PM Bangers in BigFooty) that he thought Lindsay was the safest bet in the draft with his skill set.
  17. I see Peatling had a game high 12 tackles in yesterday’s game. Probably the best mature mid we could hope to get I think.
  18. Yeah it’s all about the coaching and development I think. The players they brought in last year are all playing their role very well. But mostly they only ended up at the Hawks because nobody else really wanted them. They missed out on all the bigger trades they tried to get done over the last 2/3 year.
  19. Sorry BLWNBA misread one of your post. Have edited my post.
  20. I’m glad we didn’t get the deal done for Houston. Not because I don’t think he’s a good player that would have improved us but because I think it shows the recruitment team value of pick 5 more than they value him. I suspect that when we were interested we assumed we would have lower first rounder to trade maybe around 9/10 and that would have been fair. Power asking for two but I assume are settling for a top 10 pick.
  21. @WalkingCivilWarand @Deelectable we have few poster on this site that have very few poster on this site who’s information is always very good and can be trusted as proven by their track record. To my knowledge there is only 3. Let’s not have a crack at them when they are good enough to share that information with the rest of us. If it’s not to your liking maybe put them in ignore but don’t try to stop them sharing great info with the rest of us. It’s one of the great benefits of this site. Side note has the ignore function gone? Can’t seem to be able to find it.
  22. In fairness it’s his only year with us. So he doesn’t have runs in the board. If you’re in a new relationship and it did work for a the first 12 months it’s probably time to bail.
  23. Richmond would be an interesting one- should they be willing to trade with us for a F1st then it mean's Yze would be willing to bet against us doing well next year.
  24. Lots of team will be wanting to trade in or up to this draft. The cost of picks is going to be high. I’m not saying we should or shouldn’t but I think that’s about what it would cost. We gave up two second rounders to move up from 14 to 11 last year.
  25. Probably puts you in the mix for pick 13( Suns) and Lions pick 14. We could hold onto our future first and maybe trade our future second.
