lol. of course it happened. no big deal. it was a game where we knocked saints out of the finals. Who was to know that our team and adelaide would dish up such dribble in the last round.

You see Vince has always been regarded as a player with great foot skills but I must admit this season he got way ahead of himself and tried to thread passes unnecessarily, often off one foot etc. I don't mind him playing midfield as he is a good tackler but he'd need to learn to run both ways.

Watts should go. I'm just sick of his bruise free footy. - Stretch will stay on. I don't rate him because his foot skills are poor but he's still young. - Kent: dogged by injuries, when he is on he plays great footy. I'd definitely keep him. - trengove: muat and will go. too slow - would love to see oscar go but obviously the club loves him. At the very best he develops into his brother who drives me up the wall with his decision making and poor skills - garland has to stay. at least it will send oscar back to casey.

I'm not sure why people are so gutted. Sure we missed out by a fraction of % but the disappointment accumulates throughout the year, when we lost to freo, roos, pies etc. It was in all of those losses that I realised we werent any threat to the premiership and probably not deserving of finals. all in all, we didnt deserve finals and we wouldn't have done anything in them should we made it anyway.

i couldn't agree more. Watts is soft and we have the lowest expectations of him now. his great games are good games, his good games are average games and his average games are worse than your average suburban footballer. You need guys that put their head over the footy and he doesnt have it in him. we need to take a hard line on soft players and goodwin should have never let him back in the team. People on thos forum give weeds a tough time but he has already shown far more appetite for the balk than watts has ever shown

id say yes to tom mcdonald but tyson ia just depth and salem isn't soft

the issue isnt the list. Its the mental application that is hot some weeks and cold the next. Spend the off season understanding why and then fix it.

im so sick of personally being condemned for my opinions of mcdonald. i've never liked him as a player. Sure he can take a mark and has good endurance but the moment he has the ball and his eyes dart 1 degree in board you may as well pencil in a goal. Oscar is the same

Hogan doesnt help our defensive pressure mindset so honestly i'm not fussed if he isnt playing. our best footy has been without him. To be honest, the tom mcdonald i saw today is the same mcdonald I've seen since day 1. terrible skills and low footy iq. oscar is a clone. max needs a kick up the arse. petracca played well though. All these demonlanders were saying he needed a break after a poor game...crazy mofos!

All these posters praising Pedo now were the same ones doubting him when he put in a bad game or two and he got dropped. If Pedo himself ever read this board... just letting you know that I backed you all last year yet we opted for Watts whose game isnt 'big enough' to ever poll 3 votes in a game. Pedo may have done it twice in a row! Why Pedo was ever dropped and not in the team at the start of the season is simply a bad decision. A decision which cost us a couple of wins.

our forward line always works worse with hogan in it. we go so hogan focussed every time. lower your eyea inside 50 ffs!!!! And any chance of tightening up on beams and zorko!! and garlett ffs. just get it done

But not in the top half a dozen players. He hasnt earnt a call up. Guys like ANB had to get like 3 best on grounds before getting a call up. Watts has completely lost my trust. His game against north melbourne in particular was horrific. id say most section 1 amateur footballers couldve impacted a game more than he did that day.

I continue to be surprised on this forum. Watts hasnt been named in the best players for 2 weeks yet he is 'a cut above the rest' and should get a call up? Watts' efforts in the afl for 3 weeks were unforgivable and disgusting. An absolute [censored]. He has not shown any appetite for the contest and we dont need guys like him in the team come finals. We need hard guys that put their head over the footy.

I may be the only person who thinks this but our best footy has been without Hogan this year. When Hogan doesnt play, Pederson more often than not steps up and we are more unpredictable. And 1 thing that I find most melb fans look past is his attitude to chase. Its been pathetic all year. And I dont care about anything else other than effort and he doesnt provide that. Hogans kicking also needs work. Fortunately Pedo has stepped up and shown supporters his attributes and he needs to stay in the team all year.

I scratch my head when people on this forum defend guys like Watts until the cows come home year after year despite bringing no intensity or strength to the contest yet guys like Melksham and Harmes are always never given their due credit. Both of these guys bring intensity and thats all that I want in players. not to mention melksham who has kicked some clutch goals for us in recent times. I won't even start talking about Hogan and intensity but why did people ask for Pederson to be dropped? He was BOG yday. 26 touches and 2 clutch goals. You dont drop these guys after some quiet weeks.

sure, weideman didnt have a great game but honestly his intensity and effort levels were far better than Watts has been dishing up and for that Watts will stay in the vfl for a while longer and rightly so.
