  1. Frost had a better year. However he is a confidence player and could just as easily go backwards again as he has done before. Not desperate to keep him on a multi year deal. One year deal is the best I could offer
  2. It's Richmond's system and team pressure that makes average player look good. Not got a lot of interest in Butler out of that system. As with others, Langdon appears a very good fit. Also amazed how players pick up their form when their contracts are up for renewal.
  3. An injury free Elliot would have been awesome, but given his track record for some time now, its more likely he spends large chunks of the season on the sidelines injured with a fat cheque. He was seeking better terms and a longer contract and got it from other teams but still don't leave, so clearly he was never leaving and was playing the game. 3 years was a pretty big risk so not feeling too bad about it.
  4. Couple of thoughts: * I'm sure Peter Bell is conscious Freo are courting his dad & don't want to be seen to be dragging their son thru the media * His trade value will increase next year. Angus had a bad year as did others. We will clearly have a better 2020 without the 13 or so post season injuries and a better draw * Keep for now
  5. If he was serious about his footy he would have shed a few kg's by now
  6. Like him for how he plays but in terms of captaincy there is a touch of the figjam about him I'm still assessing
  7. With no pokies (for good reason), reduced NT games, and the delayed impact of a poor year on field, it will be a big test for the club to stay in the black it seems. Hopefully we are up to the task with some revenues locked and loaded
  8. Stats in the wrong hands are dangerous. To get an accurate view of this turnovers you need to assess the % turnovers/disposals. It's pretty common for mids to have the highest turnovers and other stats for that matter
  9. These are the threads that get started when you have a poor year and no finals
  10. I think we need a review to determine what sort of review we need. Bring in Gary Lyon to lead it. History shows he's the go to man
  11. Whether todd is leaving or not l don't know, but the lack of appreciation for his efforts by many is appalling. Prior to him moving to list management and recruitment our drafting was terrible. Lost count how many first round picks we had that returned donuts. Likewise the suggestions of conflict of interest. Jack is captain because he is driven and leads by example. Just needs helping managing his body and some decent sports science staff.
  12. Our skills were ok last year although we still had i50s wasted. Think we are less fit and tired mentally which leads to poor concentration and form. Fitness area thankfully is having a much needed revamp
  13. Definitely hampered during the year but kept plugging away. The main issue here is that we miss manager players injuries. Should have rested and been given the chance to have a good run at it injury free.
  14. With the end of the season approaching and questions being raised about our game plan, lets hope the 't' word doesn't rear its head again. No, not tanking, turnovers! At least in years gone by when we finished down the bottom we often weren't trying.
  15. Pretty sure his high performance program won't involve bricks ...
  16. 4-6 weeks in rehab is code for 12+weeks but we don't want to tell supporters and sponsors that
  17. Can only assume he was trying to pass that off ...
  18. He has said himself that his issues were in Yuendumu and not at mfc. having said that 'm sure drinking doesn't help
  19. So when do we lose patients? Is it the game plan (coaches responsibility) which leaves us under pressure / in bad field position or personnel (player talent) that can't execute and follow instruction. Even when we win we tend to have been inefficient
  20. China was in 2010 and his first charges were in 2012 so cant see the link. First got himself in trouble in NT when intervening in complex family / cultural troubles
  21. l'm sure one of the challenges the coaching staff would have set for 2019 was am improvement in our conversion and delivery around the F50. Seems an epic fail with few signs of any progress. l give them until mid 2020 to improve otherwise some new ideas are needed by end of next year
  22. Issues started when he left mfc not prior
  23. As long as he's not out for the dreaded and cursed "4 to 6 weeks". If that's the case, we won't see him until mid next year!
