  1. All clubs would be interested in a premier forward I think but Jesse will only go interstate to WA. Don't rule out West Coast either
  2. Bugg gone, Kent going and if Spargo gets the 2nd year blues, we still need a back up crumber. Having someone that has kicked 40 plus goals isn't a bad plan B assuming the $ are in line
  3. Can we really blame a bloke who left a rabble of a club at the time for $1m+ a year. Who are we kidding? Having said that, I would have concerns about his longevity, given his knee issues and injuries of late
  4. On paper we need some outside run and apparently he can provide this. However, if GC are happy for him to explore his options, how good is he really?
  5. Understand we might need another tall but would not use the Collingwood game as an example of that. We won the ruck many more time than we lost this year. The Preuss interest to me is more around having an extra tall on the list for backup in case Gawn is injured, Hoges goes or rule change leading to more open marking contests. Would love Stephen May also.
  6. He offers us something different with his brute strength and don't argues - often in key moments. Will be better with an uninterrupted preseason and did fantastically well to earn a call up so soon after returning to VFL. Reading between the lines, he is 'exploring' and not yet requested a trade because he doesn't yet have a guaranteed suitor. Good luck to him whatever he does however.
  7. If the Hogan rumour is true (which I actually believe this time) our interest in Preuse now makes a little more sense to me particularly if we are unsure whether we can extract Steven May
  8. Good mates with Kent from WA who could be on the way out
  9. I actually enjoyed the article as it had some new insights about our past. The timing however, given Caro would have been sitting on those facts for some time, was very disappointing and showed signs of malice. So I am supportive of the clubs decision. In its simplest form, if you had a mate that was invited to your party and just before the party they openly bagged everyone attending that party, would you still want them to go? Clearly not. Doesn't mean the relationship is completely broken but clearly there attendance would spoil what would otherwise be a great event shared by those that have put in so much hard work at the club
  10. We are getting into premiership contention so you don't want to lose any A-grade talent unless list mgmt have a guaranteed A-grader coming back the other way. Would be ok if Sam May, Gaff, Neale, or an unknown are coming back the other way. We will stretch teams with Weid, TMac and Hoges like never before. Weid will get the 3rd best tall and will benefit as much as anyone and learn along the way.
  11. No, two terrible coaching appointments that set the club back years is more than enough. He's a know it all that actually doesnt know that much. Chanpion player and captain though. And let's not mention the elephant in the room
  12. collingwood all work hard similar to mfc this season and have a very strong mid field with key players having returned recently. whereas their makeshift forward line is working for now but west coast wont let cox run at the ball and jump like he did against richmond and Collingwoods key backs will tested against Kennedy and Darling.
  13. true, we don't seem to attract free agents either which are free kicks. they seem to always go to hawt or geel
  14. Its about money ball, and if your current and future output isnt in line with your salary you become tradeable. tyson, kent, bugg would likely be in that boat. others aren't up to day in day out performances like frost (doesn't play when lever is back), hannan but we still need then until we have something better and the cap space to get players in. also a best 22 type with finals experience would be helpful for when lewis and Jones move on likely after next season
  15. i think we can give away future picks but we are limited in what we can do given overs for lever last year
  16. sure let's get rid of our experience like Lewis and Jones and we will get the same outcome st kilda has this year. then have to waste picks getting players like hanneberry back to fill the void in experience. wasted enough picks on lever last year already
  17. very small sample size, his last quarter goal the other week was pretty handy under pressure
  18. yesterday was poor across the team but we improved as the year progressed in key game moments vs gws, geelong and hawrhorn in particular. most teams have to lose a final to win one. richmond got overrun against Collingwood and looked flat also. does that mean they don't have leadership
  19. not sure why a change is needed, 2 skippers and leadership group seemed to have learnt alot this year as evidenced by the way the team handled key moments towards the end of the season and responded at the right times. Viney will get there soon enough. Let's also wait to hear if he has carried anything with his foot injury and is going to have to get it attended to
  20. we won't know for sure whether some of his errors and ill discipline started the rot and dynamic of the team in the early part of the 1st quarter, but it certainly didn't help. having said that he was very influential inn helping the team progress to the prelim. had a good year overall
  21. More credit must go to T Viney. The negotiations to get Hogan and have J Viney slip out further in the draft order were the beginnings of the new Melbourne. T Viney, Jason Taylor and the recruitment team have been awesome for the most part
  22. I'll be at the snow with many of my fellow supportors ! Just kidding, actually hate the snow but love the beach. Will pop into see mum and watch it with a family of Dees!
  23. Players and coaching staff get most of the credit here. All club media want to be accessible, its the players and the coaches that allow it to happen however
