Angus Brayshaw signs contract extension till 2018
Forest Demon replied to dees189227's topic in Melbourne Demons
Wasn't there a report a few weeks back we were locking away Jeremy Howe, and then they slip that little nugget in the last line of this article. Or is that common knowledge? -
I just heard on SEN they said on top of Lynch being out, Day and Dixon are also out for round 1. Does anyone know if this is true? I don't want to sweat on who is and isn't playing, but their 3 big forwards being out could pose an issue for them.

Will be interesting to see what comes of this either way. Will give us a good idea of where the new MRP will stand on these sort of things. Not that it means much, but if this happened last year, I would have said 1-2 weeks.

Geez, this is going to be popular.

POSTIVES 1. Tyson - in close he is absolute class, made a couple of mistakes by foot but wasn't alone, even players like Stephen Hill were butchering kicks first game back 2. Lamumba - slow first quarter, but was good after that, loved the way he played on and moved it quickly, will be very important for us 3. Frosty - jesus christ, what a beast 4. Newton - that first play was first class, marks with the flight of the ball and slots it from 50 on an angle 5. Hogan - he looked a little rusty but he built in the game well, you can tell he will start clunking more of those marks, especially with better delivery 6. Nathan Jones - just keeps on keeping on, we can't afford him to drop off at all and his first quarter was excellent, his kicking is the most underrated part of his game, he just does not miss shots on goal NEGATIVES 1. Dropping Sitters - 2nd quarter in particular, just meant we couldn't get it out and our defence never got a rest 2. Grimes - over the last year or two has lost all of his strengths and is just a shadow of the 20 year old who looked so comfortable at this level 3. Matt Jones - he is best 22, but just waiting for a young guy to string a few good games together and take his place 4. Gawn - what the hell was that? he is actually usually a reasonable kick, so I am willing to let it slide and forget it ever happened, but only this once 5. Dawes - after all we have heard about his preseason, I expected more, hopefully he gets going in the rest of nab cup games 6. Low Scoring Periods - to not kick a goal in 2 of the 4 quarters is criminal, we have to keep the scoreboard ticking over

Training - Tuesday 3rd March 2015
Forest Demon replied to The Devil Inside's topic in Melbourne Demons
I hope Howe plays forward. With umps being told to crack down on players being blocked out of marking contests, that could make Howe even more of a weapon up forward. He seems to get his run at a contest blocked more than most, for obvious reasons. Can see him winning plenty of frees or taking plenty of hangers, win win. -
haha, you wood duck, I said "if tonight is anything to go by", just after I stated I think he will do well at Hawthorn, so not sure where I judged his season. I hate lowering myself to argue with dills like yourself, so you win.

Oh no, my Reputation is shot because I got a year wrong. Obviously I meant his AA year.
-
Chip was immense in 2011, he since lost that power, passion and zip that made him such a good player that year. I thought the move to a contender might invigorate him back to his best after years of crisis at Melbourne, but if that performance is anything to go by, he will give Hawthorn absolutely nothing, just like we received post 2011.

Christian Petracca - Season Ending Knee Injury

Uh oh, doesn't sound good for the young fella, hopefully not as bad as I am fearing. -
Training - Wednesday 3rd December, 2014
Forest Demon replied to The Devil Inside's topic in Melbourne Demons
Lol, another Demonland thread descends into farce. Saty's training reports and banter with the players is interesting, but must admit I cringe at the odd thing such as the JKH guns incident, but you just have to let it go through to the keeper. -
Interupted pre-season - who will be on the list
Forest Demon replied to jackaub's topic in Melbourne Demons
Not as concerned with Vince missing a chunk of pre season, but Gawn desperately needs to get his endurance up to scratch. -
Lol, is this the exact same article from last year? Of course our drafting and development has been shambolic, but I still await the same article on each of the other clubs overlooking Fyfe, Tippett etc.

I have nothing but respect for Brock McLean now the dust has settled. We all followed blindly when we shouldn't have, and he stood up for himself. Brock McLean isn't to blame for the tanking sanctions, the halfwits in charge at the time are.

He sounds like trouble. Does anyone know any inside info? Always seems to ruffle some feathers.

Potential Trades [Warning: Reading this thread may self-destruct]
Forest Demon replied to Dr evil's topic in Melbourne Demons
This is true, and did dawn on me. But, perhaps Chris Judd's Grandma-gate aside, I can't remember a year with so many big outlandish calls going around. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - SAM FROST

Has anyone given a decent opinion on him yet? Should I be expecting him to be similar to his brother? Looks like his muscles have muscles, big lad. -

Forest Demon replied to Dr evil's topic in Melbourne Demons
This thread will be Demonland folklore, even if not for the right reasons. The riddles, the big trade promises, it had it all. And all this for a trade period that netted us Garlett, Lumumba and Frost. -
I think it is time for a couple of high draft picks and others who have been in the system for 2-5 years to have stand out years. There is no excuse now under Stone and co. In varying degrees, this includes Toumpas, Viney, Salem, Kent, JKH, Hogan, Watts, Howe, and even Tyson to take it to yet another level. At least 4 or 5 of these guys need have big breakout years IMO.

His brother had a really good year for the Pies. That's the extent of my knowledge. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HERITIER LUMUMBA
Forest Demon replied to Moonshadow's topic in Melbourne Demons
Clark Out Lumumba In is fine by me. With Mitch's foot and head issues, getting a player like Lumumba is more than acceptable IMO. We thought he was gone for nothing a few months back, and Lumumba presents a much safer bet, even if he is a bit of a loon.
