Couldn't agree more. I thought we were maybe a 40-60 chance of winning, but the disgusting effort in the second half was every bit as bad as anything last year, the Neeld years, the Bailey years etc etc.

I don't like the idea of someone getting the boot after only getting 20 minutes of game time. But given Vince and Dawes are likely to return, and the fact it was such a poor 20 minutes, I could understand it. But part of me wants him named, and if he is, he should start.

North Melbourne is one I would love to break. Can't stand them, don't rate them, and we are a huge chance of beating them depending on which North Melbourne turn up on the day.

I don't really want either of them out, but I think Kent had a more defensive role on Malceski and performed it really well, and still provided a bit of danger in attack. I would guess that the coaches would have rated Kent's game better than JKH.

North are so overrated it isn't funny. They were so inconsistent last year, dropped some horrible losses, but on the back of a soft draw snuck into the 8. Admittedly strung a couple of big finals together, but given there tougher draw this year, I was shocked they were in many people's top 4, and then I even heard that twit Brad Johnson tipping them for the flag. On paper they are very average, and on the field, not much better. They will finish anywhere from 7th to 14th for me.

And I should add, I don't necessarily think all players who are doing it are trying to win frees, some are just trying to evade tackles. Either way, it shouldn't be paid.

Exactly. Saw Higgins blatantly duck into a tackle against Adelaide and got the free and I thought to myself, weren't they meant to be cracking down on this and not paying these anymore?

That's my point. People, including myself, were critical of his lack of physicality and work rate. And the apologists tried to make out we wanted him to play like Glen Archer. But of course he doesn't, he just has to do what he did today over and over again and he is a star.

Watts was excellent today. Nobody expects him to be Glen bloody Archer, but he worked hard and presented all day. And had the polish as well, excellent stuff.

He will have quiet games, but if he tackles like he did today regardless of how many kicks he gets, he is definitely best 22. He was better than I expected he would be.

Tom McDonald built on a good Nab Challenge and was amazing today. Col Garland built on a terrible Nab Challenge and was amazing today.
