And by adjust, do you mean run an extra couple of players out at half time and hope nobody notices? Some of the black and white posters on DL are really starting to grate me.
-
Frawley was an AA defender, and his departure netted us very good compensation. Trengove was destined to be a gun, but never got a run at it due to injuries. I wouldn't class either as "bungles". Toumpas over Wines, now there's a "bungle".
-
How many times were we hard up against the boundary and tried to wrap a kick around the body, only to kick it out on the full? At least 4 or 5 times from memory. More experienced players just get tackled over, take the throw in and reset. Hopefully it comes.

Dead set, I don't like getting personal, but give yourself an uppercut. [censored].
-
It is actually unbelievable. I've sat through a decade of the most dire foootball I have ever seen, and I've been massively critical of the club through that time. If supporters can't get behind the team after the hand we've been served this year, crucial injuries at horrible times, and we have still dominated large periods of games against much older experienced sides, then they can [censored] off.
-
Whatever. I know it's straight after a heart breaking loss, but not many teams would even get into winning positions after losing their ruckman for most of the game. And both the teams it happened against are 5-0, so hardly against mug sides.
-
Most unlucky 2-3 side ever I would say. One quarter aside against Fremantle, we have looked very good. 2 games we have lost a ruckman for 3 quarters. But at the end of the day, we are 2-3, missing some key players, and in big trouble f letting this season get away from us.

So there has actually been somebody at AFL house spending time looking into headbands? That will do me.

TEAM SELECTION AND MATCH PREVIEW - ROUND 5
Forest Demon replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Melksham was awful last week, and I thought he would make way, but against popular opinion, I thought he was solid the previous 3 weeks, so I can roll with him playing. -
I agree about the ignorance around the history of the game. I speak to other footy fans, and nearly all of them are clueless.
-
I could live with that. JKH could probably do with a few weeks back to back in the VFL, but i think they rate him. He was picked in the preseason when we were playing our best 22.

Christian Salem - future position role
Forest Demon replied to Bobby Clark's topic in Melbourne Demons
Of our youngsters, Salem and Oliver looked the most likely in the JLT series to have big years, and that's certainly been the case. Once Lewis is back at half back, Salem will hopefully spend more time on the ball. He is such a neat kick and executes so quickly and efficiently under pressure. Ball is on the boot in the blink of an eye. -
No. He is not even close to the player he was 6 or 7 years ago when he was AA, and is only going back to keep going downhill at his age.
-
I think Garry contradicted himself a bit on morning radio, and I agree with what he said. He said we will likely get up and win against Richmond, but our problem is that the players get comfortable too easy and play differently when they should win, to when they confronted with a challenge. So while it's a huge game, and we need a win, I'll be no more confident in the side than I am at the moment.
-
2-2 was my worst acceptable scenario. Paint it however we like, we've let winnable games slip, but it's not a disaster. Huge game on Monday night though.
-
Who were your bests? Just interested as I'm reading a fair bit into it having only watched part of the game.
-
Hogan for Weideman, no brainer Hibberd for Melksham, no brainer If we want to go big, Pedersen for Hannan, otherwise, one more week for Hannan, with the possibility of Brayshaw, JKH or BK taking his spot in coming weeks.
-
Cam Mooney is an arrogant [censored], right up there in my list of most painful "personalities".
-
If you don't laugh, you'll cry. Make no mistake, if we threw either of the last two games in the bin, it was the Geelong game. We battered them, but remarkable inaccuracy from us, and remarkable accuracy from them kept them in it. They have looked pretty average this year imo, but will somehow still be 4-0.
-
That was as tough an ask as you could get for your first game back, but he did admirably. He is such an improved player from the uncoordinated beanpole that most just assumed would be spat out after a couple of years. Now that Sandilands is out of the way, it will be interesting to see how he goes against "normal" ruckman, like Nankervis, McEvoy, Leuenberg etc.
-
We have let slip a golden chance to be 4 and zip. 2 and 2 is not a disaster though. I said it in the post match thread, but it is so even this year. The supposed worst teams can still get you on their day, and the best sides are definitely beatable.

I'm starting to feel like Saty flying the flag for players, but bloody hell, there is some shite floating around tonight.
-
Would like to see the Casey results first, but Weideman almost certainly to go back. Melksham has been ok this year imo, but was shocking today. Hannan probably due to go back for a few as well. Hogan > Weideman Hibberd > Melksham Brayshaw if he plays well a chance to replace Hannan. Just as the op suggested.
-
I'm not sure you were. He wasn't Steve Silvagni, but he was far from dreadful. It was a ridiculous comment, and you have been rightly pulled up on it.
-
Wait up...what? That is ridiculous. He is clearly an athlete first, but the rest of his game was pretty good today, especially considering it was his first game back.
