GAMEDAY: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
Dire performance. Fritsch being our most dangerous forward again only highlights Goodwin’s ridiculous decision to play him out of position all year. Any chance he could tell Jones to man Sidebottom up instead of trying stupid experimental tactics dropping back of the square into defence.

POSTMATCH: Rd 20 vs Richmond
On paper, you would think we would be ok in the wet, but we over possess it and continually bite off more than we can chew. We can’t move the ball in the perfect conditions, not sure how they expect to do it in the wet. The number of times our play breaks down because a handball is at someone’s feet, or a kick that is A few metres off and bounces rather than hit a teammates chest is incredibly frustrating to watch. It invites pressure and it just builds until we inevitably turn it over.

Martin Flanagan Talks Dees on SEN (30/7)
The writing is on the wall that Jones won't captain next year. I think you can almost take it to the bank that Viney and Gawn will co-captain next year.

Out - my Mitsubishi ASX In - the new Jag I'm going to win Other than that, not too fussed

Brad Hill
Pick 2 has to be off the table as we can’t pass on the opportunity of a pick at the pointy end of the draft. Don’t mind the idea of our 2020 1st rounder being on the table though.

We must play Frost on a wing & Fritsch forward.
Fritsch playing back for so long has been one of Goodwin’s many big mistakes. Dumbfounding that he persisted with him down back for so long when he is a proven forward, and one of the only players we have with the class to finish off our good work up forward.

Remaining games or 2020 prep?
Keep playing the youngsters like Jordan Lewis

POSTMATCH: Rd 19 vs St. Kilda
I love a scapegoat as much as the next bloke, but OMac was fine tonight. Goody on the other hand.

POSTGAME: Rd17 vs Bulldogs
Hannan came back after one average game in the VFL and hasn’t even looked close to it. At his best, he has something to offer, but I would much rather play Baker, or even give JKH one last 4/5 week spell in the team to make a case. ANB is just too much of a momentum killer. Every move that goes through him dies a slow death. Not sure why Jetta was rushed back? Lewis was decent today but we need to move past him. I’d rather see Jordan or another youngster get a game. Perfect opportunity. Petty showed a bit, which was equals parts encouraging and frustrating given how little Weideman has shown this year. Other than that, all good.

These debut announcements are getting more elaborate.

Rounds 18 to 21
I was thinking this the other day. Up until now, parking the game plan and skill level, I don’t think you could fault the effort. Now that this season is 100% gone, I will be interested to see if there are more drop-offs like there was in the second half against Brisbane.

Will Gould (Drafted by Sydney)
I would be checking the validity of his birth certificate before picking him…he looks about 30.

Coburg v Casey Demons - Round 12
He has literally just turned 19, so he was a pick for the future. He doesn’t need to play this year to justify the selection, however I suspect he will get a couple of games.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JAY LOCKHART
I’d just like to put my flag in the ground and say I’ve claimed him! Love his composure in traffic, especially around goal. Stands out like dogs balls when other, more fancied, teammates are so quick to dump it by hand or foot when under pressure.

ANB Close to Re-Signing?
He was ok before the injury/bye, but he was poor today. So many chains of possession broke down due to an ANB missed handball or similar. He is depth, and given the year he has had, surely a 1 year extension would be fair.

Should we be Chasing Darcy Parish
Agree on Stephen Hill. Injury concerns but is an unrestricted free agent who wouldn’t cost us a draft pick and fills a massive need for us. I don’t think his salary would be massive either given his recent history.

What is left to look forward to in 2019
Watching a club I hate, followed by supporters I hate, winning another premiership, while we watch on. That’s always pretty good fun.
