  1. Neal-Bullen not impressing. Getting his hands on it a bit but is so sloppy with his use.
  2. We really need Jeffy up and firing in the seniors
  3. Similar story to Nottingham Forest (see username). And in both cases, I’m too young to have been around for any of the successful years
  4. He has to start sticking some tackles. He gets brushed aside far too often. There is nothing wrong with his game when he has ball in hand.
  5. Great to see Ajax back up and competing at the top end, even if it is only temporary. I’m in a similar boat that I’ve lost interest in football/soccer as the ridiculous amounts of money took over. As for the premise of the thread, I agree, and it’s why I believe GWS will stay strong for a while yet. They might lose players but due to the quality of those players, they will always be at the pointy end of the draft. They can just keep brining in elite talent, like for like.
  6. At the ground the most noticeable thing was the improvement in our defensive running. The small ground and slow opposition helped, but we were able to really effectively slow them down. It’s a start.
  7. I think we will win this one on the smaller ground, but then lose to St Kilda at the G next week.
  8. Here are all players aged 29 and above on our list... Jordan Lewis Nathan Jones Jeff Garlett Neville Jetta Michael Hibberd All 5 of these guys have had very rough starts to the year, for varying reasons. If that experienced group all drop off the cliff quickly, it leaves a pretty big hole. Hopefully Jetta and Hibberd can get back on track and give us a good 3 or 4 years yet.
  9. Stretch deserves to come in Maynard a chance, but I still think he’s too inside, and although he had a shitload of tackles, he won’t necessarily help defending the spread from contest that we are struggling with. Not quite the balance we need atm. I was praying Petty would put his hand up today. Either he or Kielty, but seems like he isn’t being considered as a key defender anymore for whatever reason.
  10. On the smaller SCG, I’m tipping us to win next week comfortably. It won’t mean much in the long run, but it will be something at least. OUT: OMac, KK, ANB IN: Petty or Kielty, Stretch, myself
  11. I know it’s easy to say in retrospect, but I listened to that interview at the time and actually laughed. There was so much more work to be done, but it didn’t come across that way. And the third quarter speaks for itself.
  12. He basically just said how we had been building towards a performance like that, and how we can match it with the best. It’s hard to convey in this forum, but very much came across like he was pretty complacent about how we were travelling based on 15 minutes of footy. And I noticed on the radio and tv, it was picked up by a few commentators as well.
  13. We actually looked a lot better going forward tonight. Lowered our eyes and strung some good passages together. The issue was a) how much space we afforded them when they attacked and b) that third quarter where we just got hammered around the ball and it translated to the scoreboard pretty quickly.
  14. I’m not sure where to begin but here we go... BAD Kolodjashnij has been awful Omac and Frost completely laughable Hibberd and Jetta two good players who haven’t fired a shot ANB has been straight up [censored] this year TMac and Weideman have given us nothing Gawn slow out of the blocks That 3rd quarter was diabolical after working our way back into the game. Seriously, if you get the chance, listen to Brayshaw’s half time interview. GOOD A few fringe players held their own in Wagner x 2 and Lockhart Petracca was dangerous most of the game, that should be the standard That is all
  15. FFS, just bring in Petty and/or Kielty. I’m losing faith, but Frost at least has some point of difference with his speed. However Oscar McDonald is not up to it. Never has been, never will be.
  16. I’m filthy on Melbourne, but the umpires aren’t far behind
  17. Good on ya Melbourne. I’m usually pretty positive, but this is just [censored].
  18. That’s all well and good. But he had a real chance to impact a contest, either in the air or second effort, in the first minute of the last quarter and just trotted along a step behind the contest. No excuse for that.
  19. Weideman’s half arsed jogging around is [censored] me
  20. And it’s not just a 2019 thing. We have been similar the whole time under Goodwin, but it’s only gone downhill.
  21. I’m [censored] filthy. I challenge anyone to listen to brayshaw’s half time interview in retrospect and not spew. I love the guy, but we are so complacent. It’s like everything was all good again because we strung 15 minutes of decent footy together.
  22. I can’t believe it. I don’t even know where to start. This will finish 50/60 points now. Bookmark it.
  23. Lycett and Ryder > daylight > Bellend and Clarke
  24. The whole team kept bombing it in on Saturday night, not just Oliver. We were nowhere near careful enough going inside 50.
