It’s going to be bizarre to watch. Even as a fan, I wonder if I will still get as invested as I normally do without the roar of the crowd when something happens. We will find out I guess.

I’ll tell you one thing, no more injuries and we will be fielding a very strong side in the VFL if nothing else. I remember all of last year watching Casey games with only a handful of MFC players, none of whom were really ready for the seniors. Looks like a completely different story this year, touch wood.

Citing his speed is a lazy take, he has a very good burst of acceleration. His kicking is a concern however.

The standard has been great, and it wets the appetite to see the best play the best each year in some format. BUT there has to be something to play for if it’s going to be truly gripping viewing. Representing the all stars doesn’t cut it, so I can’t see any real way to make it work. It’s been a good night though as a one off fundraiser.

With all the players we have drafted from Casey, I’m not sure how we missed Papley.

There is an article today about how Hawthorn are changing it up to play on at all costs and move the ball much quicker. Makes sense why they targeted Frost if that is the case. It will be fun to watch.

I’m not sold on the idea, but it’s clearly going to be OMac there for at least the first part of the season. If Petty gets fit he may challenge for the role.

I don’t really see the point of him being a mid, like he was at times yesterday, attending centre bounces while Weid went up in the ruck. He has ridiculous athleticism, and is a ruckman in the mould of NikNat more than Grundy. Split his time between forward and ruck. Don’t over complicate it.

Agree re Harmes. His best position is as a defensive minded mid (not an out and out tagger), and failing that I like him at half forward because he has good hands. Not sure half back will suit, but we will see.

Tom McDonald has been a liability. He hasn’t trained much over the last couple of weeks, so potentially carrying a knock? Either way, not good signs as he is one of our most important players this year.

Pretty ordinary half, but not losing any sleep over it just yet. I would love to see the ball movement improve, we are still making hard work of it going forward. Petracca and Lever both fantastic as others have said.

Every year we drop a game like this against a lesser side that we dominate. And it has cost a finals spot every year. Very disappointing result.

I originally had Foxtel and paid something stupid like 90 a month. I canned that and now have Kayo and one of the other streaming services (Netflix/Stan etc) depending on what I’m watching at the time. That comes in at about 40 a month. I use Kayo all year round, mainly for footy, but also soccer, basketball, cricket, amongst others, and I honestly have zero complaints. Maybe if I was being pushy, I’d like some EPL.

I enjoyed it more than I thought I would tbh. And my 7 year old is absolutely pumped for footy season. Straight after watching it, the footy was out and he wanted to watch highlights of the 2018 finals wins. For that reason alone, anybody saying it’s a bad idea is just straight up wrong.

American football is rubbish. Saw a graphic the other day that showed basically 1/20th of action with the rest split between nothing happening and commercials. I like basketball but their football is rubbish.

I agree. I think the club are leaving it til the last minute in case he has a major relapse with his calf, otherwise they will sign him up.

Bummer, but anything we get out of Bennell will only be a bonus. I can only assume that a small setback or 2 were to be expected, so it will be interesting to see how the club responds. I’m assuming he can’t just keep training with us indefinitely without a spot on the list?

When TMac kicked that goal, I ran the length of the house, jumped and fist pumped like an idiot, and when I went to run back, I slipped and put my heel through the plasterboard in my hallway. It always brings a smile to my face whenever I see my slightly off colour patch up job.
