  1. It was my first chance to see him live and he played well above my expectations. Well played Tom. Also excited that his presence will make life easier on the Beamers, Jones, Sylvia etc.
  2. Totally agree Disco. It is a lot at the moment to ask him to consistently play on opponents who are taller and can out reach him. Still, good things always seem to happen when he gets near the ball. I still want to see him pinch hit the middle from time to time as well.
  3. I do not think the conditions helped but given where this team believes it is going, I cannot see players of his ilk being part of the future.
  4. I endured all 120 minutes. Having watched Melbourne for a long time, I have seen plenty of low-quality games, the Eagles and Dockers however played a no-quality game – very poor.
  5. Warnock was excellent again on the weekend. Like most defenders he can be beaten on the lead but he more than holds his own in the one on one duels (actually rarely loses these IMO). I have really enjoyed watching his progress and think he will be around for a fair while. Grimes does get best on ground for the Eagles game though.
  6. I have no problem with Dunn getting some time in the forward line. He cannot be any worse than the forwards from last night and he has shown a reasonable goal sense at times in the past.
  7. Agree. On no line are we even close to ok at the moment. Must be a dream being a midfielder and playing against us right now - both with and without the ball.
  8. You do not win flags with Farren Ray type players. Let him be someone else’s problem.
  9. And there are calls from some quarters for a longer season - no thanks. For me, the season ended about 5 games ago – seen all I needed to. Bring on the draft and the 2009 season.
  10. Tonight proves how past it Jeff is...sad
  11. Selfish players who have little influence on games are not in high demand, unless you are Freo. If Sylvia is not dealt this year however, he might have no value left.
  12. Reported twice only because of over officiating – no problem with what Dunn did because Harvey was acting it up. Am with you on JMac
  13. 6. PJ 5. CJ 4. Miller 3. Valenti 2. Jamar 1. Jones It gets harder each week.
  14. A soft act - glad to see 8 weeks handed out.
  15. Yes it seems like that may be his go at the AFL level
  16. I am really confident in our direction under Bailey. Need to be patient though!
  17. 6 - Green 5 - Miller 4 - Dunn 3 - Whelan 2 - Sylvia 1 - C Johnson
  18. I was proud of the passion and determination. The guys have worked very hard the last month for little return and I really feared they would fall short again but they got the reward they deserved. These wins are even better with a week off – can enjoy it for 2 weeks – not just 1!
  19. Absolutely brilliant game by Brad – imagine if we had not stuffed around so much in the 2nd and 3rd quarter, he might have kicked 6 or 7. The thing I enjoyed about him today was not just the marks and goals but two things in particular: 1 – his rev up to the Dees midfield after the Lions kicked two goals in a row to get within 8 points late in the 3rd, I heard most of it from the members – great stuff from a member of the leadership group. 2 – His stop your talking hand gesture to Ashley McGrath after kicking the winning goal – (interesting how McGrath who for some peculiar reason thought himself an enforcer today).
  20. Looks like he now believes he should be part of it. Don’t compare with AJ just yet though!
  21. I am still replaying his mark in the forward line in the 3rd quarter in my mind. Fair to say, no other forward option we currently have can take a mark like that. With 3-6 extra KGs, we may have found something quite special.
