  1. Well said, tonight was atrocious. We apparently were at base camp 2 years ago and clearly have fallen off the mountain and into a river.
  2. I got news for you - it will not matter.
  3. My first game for the year. I want to say that was the lowest standard I can remember a game being for a while. Nothing about that game was worth being encouraged about and I mean nothing. If the Dees and Dogs merged the collective list would be lucky to win more than 8 games in the AFL on that showing. I am not sure what Neeld’s big picture is but it cannot be losing and looking like a predictable shambles doing it.
  4. Sellar getting dropped a lot - not up to it or too green (yes I missed the game)?
  5. The question I have is if we Playing group has not improved is pretty close to the mark as a whole. The days of 100 point losses should be LONG gone. The question I have is if we were at 'base camp' in 2010, where the hell are we now.
  6. Strict rule, the captain goes down one of theirs goes down - no exceptions
  7. In 2 weeks we will be 2-2 - for some reason I believe that
  8. Having watched GWS yesterday, anyone going up there is only for the $$$$$. They have some outstanding prospects, but seriously that team is 5 years away from anything. If Blease wants up there, enjoy the journey son.
  9. And the last player to fly the flag in a MFC jumper was????????
  10. Big Jim I agree with your comments. I also think I have an answer. Leadership at each level of the club. It seems everyone is in over their head.
  11. And here lies the problem. I too think Richmond will win by 40+ points and yet last year we were a better team. Crazy.
  12. Sorry Mark not your fault, but I have heard this all before.
  13. Can I have a bit each way? 1. Recruitment –The Dees have drafted too many players with the same physical make-up, Watts, Morton, Blease, Petterd, Cook – etc all thin light bodied players. Hawthorn have 2 key criteria when recruiting, is the player strong enough to win their own ball at all times and once they win it can they use it. Simple but they are playing for flags and the Demons are all over the shop. 2. Player Development – how many players are actually playing to their potential today? Player development takes serious investment from both a physical and psychological perspective and whilst I do not know this to be true, I would suggest our lack of investment in key coaches over the years would not put us in a good position to develop players to their maximum level. Anyhow this coaching staff has the capability, but it will take time.
  14. We need to start putting our heads over the ball and defending stoutly. That will take a while on its own
  15. I would have simply preferred a statement of – if you do not put your head over the ball and you do not defend, you do not play. That is the bottom line for this squad – everything else will follow.
  16. Eishold in the 87 prelim. My memory is fading, was late in the last qtr and would have effectively sealed it. Someone with more dedication will remember the details more clearly.
  17. First 3 games were the 3 finals in 87 – needless to say I have been hooked since.
  18. Tom we have moved on from you, I suggest you move on from us.
  19. Encouraged to hear this talk from Neeld but our problem has not been talk, it has been action. Remember Bailey was all about ‘competitiveness’. I will get excited when I see it on the field. Go Dees
  20. An ongoing issue is the difference between the best and worst of each player at our club. Our players can look very good at times and very average at others. Overall, that results in me not rating us very high.
  21. I will let others debate the entire cast, but Norm Smith must be there.
  22. old dee - I hear you on the recruiting $$$. Lets go after that experience we need.
