Cannot blame Tom, that deal is too good (not overlooking our seemingly dysfunctional front office).
Anyway lots of clubs have lost big names and have achieved the ultimate - I believe we will too. Furthermore the positives I take is that we have money immediately free to ensure we keep the rest of our core together and potentially to attract some experience to the team.

GWS has not grabbed the imagination of players - this lineup will be lucky to win a game. Still some may be waiting another year as GWS has 2 years to recruit.
Good points, especially point 7. I tend to focus only on the onfield and our competitiveness as a unit, which has not been up to par. 2012 should sort this out
I remember the game well. So much talk about Brock McLean going into the game after his 06 finals campaign and then within minutes he is out injured, never to be the same.
Misery is an apt description of the last 5 seasons (save a couple of games last year and this).
His injury history turns me off. If we could trial him over the pre-season and pick him up in the PSD then he is worth a look, but not in a trade for an established player.
That said this is all hypothetical. Who knows what the new coach will do re the playing list.
