POSTGAME: MS01 vs Adelaide
I’m surprised. To me hunt and Spargo are quite opposite. Spargo is a good ball user normally, reads the play well, and is a good footballer without the athletic abilities that AFL level demands. Hunt is a good mark, pace to burn, worst handballer in the side, poor field kick but decent kick for goal. For skills Spargo is miles ahead.

Dees 2020: The Good, Bad & Ugly
Disagree, I think thomlinson is a natural winger, he is not a key tall but plays more like a midfielder. Yes he isn’t quick but more an elite runner who will link and run out games well.

Makes sense. We are not a strong marking side. In 2018 we were great at bringing the ball to ground which was the formula in the forwardline. Melksham is the best at this. But still not strong at marking the pill like a west coast.

Photos don’t tell everything but he didn’t look super fit last November. And you can’t carry blokes who aren’t fit now.

No not perfect as opponent got the ball away to his teammate running into goal!! Need to pin those arms.

Steven May Injury Update
salivating if you load up at TAB on the opposition key forwards.

Steven May Injury Update
My gut says he's had full seasons every year until last year. maybe just hold our nerve a little.

I disagree. Melksham TMac and Petracca have elite attributes in the forward line. Frisch showed plenty in the last 7-8 games. Thats4 players of real quality. Only Petracca looked to be in a position of fully fit and playing forward last year. We have great competition for a second tall with weideman, petty, Jackson and Smith. Our gaping hole is forward pocket but we have some talent in Kossi, chandler and Bedford coming through. On paper if we got all those fit for round one we should do some damage.

Heritier Lamumba
Nope. Nope and nope.

Players that need the most development
Spargo is one of our better users. but he doesn't get it enough.

Players that need the most development
I think Oliver has the ability to improve that area, ANB perhaps but Hunt is our worst field kick and terrible by hand as well. Brayshaw is also on the list of those needing to improve dramatically.

Richardson Impressed
Exactly, that last game against the saints was like watching under 12s. They knew our glaring weakness and just ran it around the boundary at every opportunity, and we had no answer for it. It was that simple and Goodwin had zero ability to counter it. It was embarrassing as it gets and as easy a win for the saints without actually needing to play well.

Players that need the most development
I hope the Weid and Preuss perform and we let him develop in the background. as it should be for a tall. and bring him in when he knocks the door down and some.

Inside the Draft
I was thinking that. maybe they can read the writing on the wall now.

How much will Melbourne improve in 2020??
I think J Smith is absolutely up and running but agree on the other two.

How much will Melbourne improve in 2020??
I agree, without Tmac we looked impotent. realistically though a fit Weideman, Petty and now Jackson creates great competition for talls up forward just in case Tmac has a poor year.. I do wonder if Tmac lost form how he and May would go as key backs with Lever as a floating tall. that could be awesome.

Phantom Drafts
It’ would be logical to assume we are taking best available in Taylor’Eyes given our real needs wouldn’t it?

Welcome to the Melbourne Football Club David Regan
I enjoyed this ) touche'. It also zeros in on a particularly controversial MBI technique when the analysts at Melbourne could be using a number of different techniques and perhaps not even use that technique mentioned. I'm an analytics professional and you're job is to get as much data as possible to test hypothesis. and its the analyst responsibility to work out what is statistically significant. Almost everything has error, so its a question of how much error you are willing to accept, and non analytical types will have no idea usually as to what is acceptable. the onus is on the analyst.

Jayden Hunt - forward or back
i remember that blues game and that sums him up, great long goal at the end to help win it, great pace but at times his disposal was woeful, his handballing especially. To me he is the opposite to Spargo, physical attributes in pace and a decent mark but game sense and disposal is not good enough. he kills us most weeks.

Injury List 2020
interesting 'cherry picked' statistic. His 6 years prior to joining Melbourne he played 17-19 games. since he became established he hasn't missed big chunks of the season until last year. I think the fitness thing is a massive over reaction.

Hayden Young (Drafted by Fremantle)
you don't rate Taylors record at top draft picks at Collingwood and Melbourne ?

Hayden Young (Drafted by Fremantle)
and if we take Green and our chances at pick 8 or teen picks then everyone will scream we just added to our inside bull strength and not addressed weaknesses.
