  1. we have a better list than Carlton. our best should beat them easily. we just stopped. and still won.
  2. yes good summary. I felt we lost that intensity to want the contested ball. they wanted it more. also we have less comitting to the contest which is good but we need time together to know where everyone should be. especially in defence and up forward. it will take time for Bennel, Langdon Thomlinson to gel at stoppages.
  3. its a hard one. we were out on a our feet and he had no easy options. Carlton were running all over us. the question is how can that happen as they were a man down. I think our youngsters and Bennel perhaps had no petrol in the tank.
  4. I agree. Lets not forget these guys in our backline have played very few games together. that cohesiveness can help save goals and rebound more easily. and its being able to work with our wingers and midfield to get that release kick out.
  5. Wow. I’d give petracca (bog) and clarify votes. Clarry head to head with cripps first hal and won convincingly.
  6. Yes let’s chop a bloke because he’s not playing Brownlow football. Have some patience. Look at weitering yesterday. 18 months ago another lost draft pick at Carlton. Now developing into an elite backman and could e got votes yesterday.
  7. how ridiculously minor is that. an interview. from a distance. Sam Maclure reporting that Pickett and Spargo breached rules.
  8. you don't get ticks for playing them. playing well yeah, but not getting games.
  9. was Hibberd that bad ? he was getting the ball, running aggresively then kicking into a forward line outnumbered and was made to look like thats his bad kicking.
  10. yep I thought that should happen before round 1 given 2019. but we looked insipid.
  11. how about we see how he goes in a match first before he replaces a proven player who was all australian in recent years.
  12. correct. he has been in the position a few times and then broken down. Its whether those calves can take it over a period. and often players come back and do other 'compensatory' injuries like hamstrings which they always say are unrelated, but in effect are a secondary effect. we can only wait and see if he can string a number of games together, at any level.
  13. agreed. They need him to get his hands on it more and gain confidence. As a roaming ruck he is able to build up possessions and can read the game well in genral play but up forward is slow to react. Darcy Moore looked pathetic up forward at times but now down back looks great. It couldn't hurt to play him down back.
  14. disagree. they're list isn't made up of nobodies or just young talent. they have plenty of left over premiership players and have brought in some very experienced players. they look about a mid table side. 3rd oldest side in the league should not be down the bottom..
  15. Brownlow mediallist and game breaker versus a bloke with a lot of junk time goals.
  16. very much so. Pederson strarted slowly, his first match for us marred by the panic mark whilst ducking his head. then went onto become a handy forward and what I thought was a very handy running ruckman when Maxy went down.
  17. I thought the Ingerson trade was a steal back in the day. The player we lost was a draftee in Paul Rouvray who didn't play a game. the following best explains it. Ingerson's trade in exchange for National Draft selection #27 was part of the complicated deal that sent Paul Salmon to Hawthorn and Darren Jarman to the Crows. Adelaide player - and former Melbourne draftee Paul Rouvray - was on his way to Sydney as part of the deal before deciding he wanted to play for the Demons. The Ingerson trade convinced Melbourne to pull out of the running for Rouvray, who went to the Swans and never played a game. Essendon believed they had an in-principle agreement with Adelaide to trade for Ingerson, but he thought he'd get more opportunity at Melbourne.
  18. hes just what we need. got off to a good start but yeah his kicking skills could improve. sometime its just choosing the wrong option makes people think you can't kick straight. hopefully that improves because he's a running machine with plenty of pace.
  19. ummmm this post just fuels the doubt people have on your info. You post one message, saying Hogan wants to come back, that your source is Connolly, then people start asking questions then you want to smoke bomb it straight out of here. This has troll written all over it. Everyone knows you can just cancel it yourself.
  20. 100 % agree with this. and sums up my feelings. They treated us like second grade sparring partners, flicking the ball around easily and having a laugh. I felt ashamed and turned it off as well. not having the structures to stop easy backline exits was laughable after a whole pre-season and a near full list. Laughable. I agree. something has to change.
  21. Omac was terrible when linking up. absolutely destroyed our momentum at times and confidence. that 15 metre handball to 2 free demons players along the boundary summed him up. he couldnt even hit that target. He fumbled and missed kicks. he was awful and reflected why we got beaten badly. no way on earth he was near our best.
  22. "I will line up Goodwin though. His setup and lack of pressure on Eagles ball carriers is a structural issue he has implemented and it absolutely stinks. The allowance of opposition sides to simply kick to unmarked players is alarming and unforgivable" this is the unforgiveable part for me also. when the opposition move the ball it should be under great pressure at leat by the idr kick. to oftne it was not.
  23. I wouldn’t be surprised if they thrashed us either.
