  1. Well that would be a disgrace, and condones just lining blokes up and smashing them into next week. Seriously he gets such a golden run that bloke. he should get a month for that.
  2. He has studied Mohammed Ali and copied his approach to a tee. even quotes his sayings word for word...'You haven't got the mental capacity to go with me'..'I don't like you', 'I hate you'. Ali v Howard Cosell drove ratings through the roof. Ali said some terrible things on camera. Jacko has modelled this no doubt. and got great results.
  3. but what would you do when Dunn was playing career best football and Garland was doing his job on a flank with TMac the other key defender?. there just wasn't a spot for him.
  4. im unsure about White. He might make a career. reminds me of Cheney, solid, lacks pace, old fashioned. not sure it would suit Goodwins gameplan.
  5. it feels like reverse Hawthorn....dominated the game in just about every facet except the scoreboard. very frustrating especially when 12 to 3 frees were awarded last quarter. Still we didn't look confident lining up for goal in the 3rd quarters. We still don't quite believe but getting closer.
  6. no he is pretty quick. he looks like he is lacking endurance right now.
  7. off one foot with little time he is pretty good. yes he kicks floaters but so do other elite kicks under pressure. He is the most pivotal player for us when we are transitioning well from half back to half forward. with pace and kicking.
  8. I would be loathe to give up Kent. he gets bagged on here but he is a bit of a talisman for us. his pace and kicking are elite, and as his tank builds he will become a central player for us. he has the two assets we have in low quantities at present.
  9. Any new club would be wanting him in for surgery now and ready for a full pre season.
  10. yeah you can just negotiate a contract in todays dollars and index an increase linked to the CBA. it needs to be water tight though to know what its linked to, as money gets allocated to different buckets. we just need to keep improving to keep him. and getting a gun player in would help.
  11. I wqnder who tallies these stats. How Vince isn't right up there is beyond me. was doing everything to buffet, shepherd, [censored] etc to help his teammates.
  12. Hawks are blooding a first gamer and 'resting' Will Langford against us. they still treat us with contempt. When are we going to take it to them ?
  13. Clarkson will have studied us by now, and be ready to slice open our game plan, as he has done every year.
  14. i did notice on our kick outs the doggies comtinually left McDonald by himself in the back pocket with plenty of space. I thought it was smart thinking. he was in the wrong position as he would get it and they would hem him into the pocket and he would usually kick long down the line. meanwhile they kicked out and were happy to zig zag out with perfect little kicks and try and split us open. they would inch by inch weave through us. if only he learnt to kick !!
  15. Also Weideman had played little footy in two years, so I think there first aim was to get him to play a full year. Hogan had more of the ball and won the B and F so lets keep it in perspective.
  16. Garland has the pace to go with him. in theory he can do the job but not sure if he has the mentality to focus and play good football now. That's if we choose to man up on him or still try the zone defense.
  17. I think in the second half of the year, if fit and firing he could come and do some ruck work with Maxy more up forward creating havoc. we need to give gawn as chop out.
  18. yep same happened with Daniher. He kept marking over smaller opponents or no-one. It was almost like we were doing for the long term no matter what till we get it right, despite losing the game.
  19. Dunn has been a welcome inclusion with his disposal out of the back half. he hits targets regularly and set up a few runs early that put the pies under the pump. he won't be going anywhere.
  20. the only real weakness I see in him is lack of pace. he doesn't have the acceleration. reminds me of Malceski. just a damn good footballer.
  21. Salem is doing his job just like Lumumba is. You could look through the Hawks or cats and see blokes who aren't racking up possessions every week or playing out of their skin, but it doesn't mean they aren't vital cogs in a winning machine. Salem's kicking was good on Sunday and he played his role well. don't know why people would question him. Like Heppell, once he gets continuity at half back I'm sure they will put him in the guts. wouldn't be surprised if they did so in the second second half of the year.
  22. by the look of Plapps Casey report he still has things to work on (maybe defensive running??). If you went by the report you would think Brayshaw, ANB and Hunt are in the mix for next week.
  23. i think the time has come to be inventive and put Dunn or Garland up forward if only to give the older heads a new lease of life and keep the opposition guessing. Garland would be a good defensive forward who can also take a grab.
  24. They are expert at jumping us then holding us at arms length for the remainder of the game. be nice to get an early jump and keep them under pressure. Which Melbourne will rock up?
