  1. This is a rippa interview. Really impressed.
  2. Would you rather have the best crop of under 25 talent in the league, or a paragraph in the story about a young player going alright for you in an overall mediocre squad, in the story to add “balance”? Our footy does the talking now.
  3. This thread, despite its uplifting title, seems to be regurgitating past pain for no apparent benefit. last night, I was channel surfing in bed and came across a Ch44 show called That’s good for footy, or something similar. Low budget weekly show with 2 AFL guest players doing Q&A (really good). Last nights show had Maxy and Jesse on. They were great club ambassadors, only two questions stuck but I thought I’d share: 1. What do you think when you see a kid at the footy wearing a jersey with your number on their back? Max: That we’ve got great club history and Jimmy Stynes is well remembered Jesse: I feel sorry for the kid whose dad couldn’t afford to get the extra 1 to put on the jumper 2. What’s the one word that comes to mind when you think of in playing for Melbourne? Max: Honour (emphasised the club history, oldest club etc) Jesse: Privileged Listening to this show, it dawned on me that these guys are starting to see themselves as a unit creating a modern legacy.
  4. Happy that Melksham is named in the starting 18, big in. i reckon the bench is Nibbler, J Smith, Pedo and Garlett (for Hannan, inj)
  5. I read this thread and I’m just thankful I’m not an opposition coach trying to defend the overall forwardline fire power. If he’s the weakest we’ve got, I’m in heaven.
  6. Should be set to Benny hill theme
  7. A rose by any other name would smell as sweet
  8. And we get done for tanking...
  9. I’ll never forget the noise erupting from the punt road end when Watts kicked the sealer. The look on my boy’s face was priceless
  10. If it was picket fence, then nothing to worry about
  11. Keep the ball in the forward line Im not having kittens about this, as good as Lever is. We defend the whole ground well (how often do you see either TMac or Hogan back during a game) and both Nev and Hibbo are strong intercept marks. I hope they give Joel Smith a crack, but I don’t think our season, or even next weeks result, is hanging on the choice.
  12. His tv show would be called How to get away with murder - Razor style
  13. Jones in the post game interview made a point of the heat in Alice. That, coupled with the interstate travel last week and the doggies having 2 extra days rest and no travel, leads me to believe our second half was immense. Loved Jetta, 3 votes, super effort. Gees I’d be concerned if I was Bevo. No firepower at all. With a very lop sided free kick count too (26-18).
  14. Jetts has been awesome. BOG by a street. Hibbo playing a blinder as well. I reckon the guys are a bit flat, but workmanlike performance. Umps can go [censored] themselves. do it for Jonesy boys.
  15. Agreed dd, have a good game i just hope the big W is not followed by TF?
  16. Not like Max to be scared of having his photo taken. Glad he’s pulled up ok, thanks for the update Jane. For once, losing has not crossed my mind either!
  17. You absolutely have to go Steve. I took the family last year to the game vs Adelaide, fully expecting a loss. It’s the prettiest ground to approach as you cross the river, and the ground has a real charm (supporters excluded). The result last year helped a lot as well. ? Even my missus who doesn’t normally come to the footy really enjoyed herself (didn’t barrack as loudly as I did). youll have a great night.
  18. Saw this suggested banner on the doggies board, real rib tickler I thought ”Will Bulldogs bite, will Bulldogs roar Will Bulldogs have a crack? Or will they want their tummy scratched and roll over on their back”
  19. Tyson absolutely stiff to get 35 touches and two goals last week in the Magoos and not even make Emergency.
  20. I’ll give you another 4 word statement Wise as to why we will win We are better than them
  21. Following the theme of the OP, and with sincere apologies to ole blue eyes….congrats to Chunk, who did it His Way… And now, game 250’s here And so we face the Western Bulldogs My friend, I'll say it clear The dees will win, of which I'm certain Chunk’s played, a game that's full of hard ball gets, tackles and tough play But more, much more than this Chunk did it his way Regrets, we've had a few 2012, best not to mention But Chunk did, what he had to do And saw it through, winning three Bluey’s too He carried us against each gifted foe Each careful kick, or bump behind the play And more, much more than this Chunk did it his way Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew When he could have been off to a club a’new But through it all, when there was doubt He signed on for 4 years and stuck it out He faced it all and he stood tall And did it his way I've loved, I've laughed and cried I've had a complete gut full of losing But now, as tears subside I find these 15 goal wins so amusing To think he did all that And may I say – thank god you stayed Yes, thank god for you You make my game day For what is this man, what has he got Elite standards, and a handy snapshot He’d play the wings, if he had heel Plays with a busted neck, he’s made of steel The record shows he took the blows And did it his way If anybody deserved to hold up the cup mate, it’s you. Thank you for everything you’ve done for our club. Go dees.
