I find it interesting that we were actually a better side (defensively, at least) this time last year without Gawn or Hogan. Our mids has to work harder to win the centre clearances, but we did. Baffles me that we’ve gone backwards this year with key personnel back in the side.

Ive learned my lesson, won’t be going again this year. I can’t take the umpiring anymore either.

Pretty ordinary effort from the umpires that quarter. I’ve only just calmed down from the umpiring last week. It really is turning me off the game. We’ve clearly got more class. Hopefully the saints coming back into that quarter is a wake up call for effort.

I’d argue it’s the other way around Wise. Jesse looked like he’d eaten 2000 hot dogs on Friday night and couldn’t move.

On a Friday night stage, the AFL should aim to have two high performing teams play, officiated by the best umpires they have to offer. This delivers the highest quality product to the broadcasters/audience to grow the game. If they are the best umpires the AFL has to offer, I might just stick to the World Cup from hereon in. 9 free kicks to 1 in the last quarter was ridiculous.

This is exactly why the AFL don’t give us Friday night games. completely unwatchable

I hope we play like we did in the first half against them last year and the second half like we did against Adelaide over there last year.
