  1. I'd have to say Nash in support of this that I recall relatively few stoppages deep in defence. Most stoppages are, IIRC, across the half back line and our mids are generally back in support and tackling. Backs generally hang off the the contest where possible and try to get quick ball movement via handball chains to a player in space (often Hibbo) to clear. When I think of the Mac brothers, its intercept marking that's their strength. Frosty is our rebound ace. Gresham from St Kilda just ran T Mac around in circles in R1, danced around him and kicked goals. I don't think of our backline as tackling grunt, with the exception of the oft underrated (but not here) Jetta.
  2. We were screaming out for midfield depth at the time, I'd have gone with Angus. If we stocked up on young defenders instead, we'd be arguing that we are going back to 2012...and we need midfield depth. i haven't written off Angus just yet. He's 22 in January. Give him time.
  3. STMJ, is that a list of stats or rather a shopping list of talent to plug the gap?
  4. Ash, top effort mate. Made the lack of footy over the bye just that bit more pleasurable. one request - can we get Trac's goal in fro QB last year where he spins away from (I think it was) Sinclair? I can see myself watching this several times!
  5. Nah, not quite there yet. Need to win a flag...
  6. I'll just bring this thread back to Jason Taylor. I must admit on 2015 draft night I was surprised when I didn't see Parish picked up then looked up Clayton Oliver's highlights package and specs. Was even more surprised to see a heavily built player but liked his contested possession highlights. It's a credit to Taylor + recruiting team that they looked deeper into whether he had the mental strength to condition himself for AFL (he had done some work prior to draft night, which would have provided confidence) and an even bigger credit to Clarry for the work that he's done between then and now to get to where he is now. God only knows how good we'll be if he keeps working at the same rate. I've just got a warm fuzzy feeling all over at the moment...
  7. I love the feigned looks of amusement from those around him. Priceless.
  8. Who's the most opposite of Saty poster on this site?? That'd be my guess....
  9. This is exactly why Essendon want this years pick.
  10. Nasher, you know these same posters would be blaming you on this thread if the pies had beat us in an upset
  11. Scoop, the dees website is saying he'll miss 3-4 matches, not weeks. My read on this is he may not be right the week after the bye. Another way of saying 4-6 weeks.
  12. You should get guerra to promote the guava. Has a certain ring to it
  13. I'm no mathematical genius, but I'd reckon based on this that if we put Ron Barassi into the guts, then we could play a grand final this year?
  14. What can I say LDVC? I reckon most people look good in red and blue...
  15. I reckon (myself included) that a fair % of the posters here are paid up members with paid up family members as well. I've forked out for dees guernseys, hoodies, polos...I'm now delighted to also support the demonland website and look good in the process!
  16. Nice work Andy - I wonder if by the end of the year we'll see more Demonlanders merchandise at the footy than Dees!
  17. Andy, great idea - I think they look terrific. I wanted a large t shirt but unfortunately sold out (I reckon dume to the membership drive in parallel). Went for a polo instead, but I'll get a t shirt (large) as well if you do another run. And a stubby holder. Thought I might get Stuie written on mine
